My Singing Monsters

Don't let the diminutive size of the Yelmut fool you - it's a Quad-Element Monster and has the pipes to prove it. That said, the Monster often takes full advantage of its pint-sized stature and gelatinous body to squeeze through cracks and crevices you would never expect it to fit through. The only thing that Yelmut has to be mindful of is not attempting to squeeze through any space in which its decorative headgear may get stuck - don't you dare call it a hat, now! Still a touchy subject.
Monster Bio

Description

Yelmut is a quad-element Fire Monster exclusive to Amber Island. It was added on February 9th, 2022 during the 3.4.0 Amber Island update. As an Amber Island Monster, Yelmut is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 30 Relics as a vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it.

Song

Voice Sample:

Its sound is nearly identical to its sound on the Continent; however, it sings a higher note at the end of its track in the place of the lower one.

Breeding

Unlike in Dawn of Fire, where Yelmut is best bred with Thumpies and Kayna, Yelmut cannot be bred. Instead, it must be bought from the Market as an inactive Vessel and revitalized by zapping eggs.

Likes

Every monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the monster, the monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a monster will still only increase its happiness by 25%. If there's a Unity Tree on the island, items don't need to be near the monsters. Below are the things liked by Yelmut:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all monsters' likes.

Note: on Amber Island, Yelmut only likes other Monsters, and not any of the available Decorations, and cannot achieve 100% Happiness at this time. It is suspected that future Monsters on Amber Island will increase its Happiness.

Powering Up

On Amber Island, Yelmut must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but are instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Yelmut by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds.

Statistics

Earning Rate and Maximum Income

Earning rate is in Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Level Per month Relics Maximum Relics
0% Happiness 25% Happiness 50% Happiness 75% Happiness 100% Happiness

Though the Relic Rate and Maximum is displayed in-game as a whole number value, internally these are decimal values. Where such values have been empirically found, they are provided in the table. When collecting from Yelmut, you will only receive the whole number value generated.

Feeding Monsters

Each monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the monster's level increases the coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum coins earned.

Notes

  • Yelmut's is a portmanteau of "yell", and the German name "Helmut"; a word that derives from the Germanic elements helm (meaning "helmet", "protection").
  • It is the third quad to come back to the original game, along with Tring and Sneyser.
  • It is the 19th Fire Monster to return to the original game.
  • It is the first Quad Element Monster to go to Amber Island.
  • Its ability to squeeze itself through small crevices as long as its headgear fits through is probably based on the similar abilities of the octopus, which can fit through any space larger than its own beak, the only hard part of its body.
  • Yelmut is bigger than in Dawn of Fire.
  • Yelmut sleeps with its eyes open, making it the fourth monster to do so, with the first being Tympa, the second being Squot, and the third being Cantorell. It has been confirmed by the Monster Handlers that this is because its decorative headgear provides enough shade to shield its eyes from light.
    • It is the first Monster to have its eyes constantly open, however (Second, if you count the Playphid that the Squot uses).
  • Yelmut likely reuses its sound from Dawn of Fire due to its original voice actor leaving Big Blue Bubble.
    • Originally, the same voice actor for Enchantling would've also voiced Yelmut, but he left as well before any sounds for it could be recorded, with no one else able to accurately recreate the voice.
