Keep exploring the multiverse The following page is about the Wublins. For the Island, see Wublin Island. |
“ | This Wublin statue has been carefully crafted by its mysterious maker, down to the finest detail. Now all that's missing is the spark of life! Instead of sending them to the nursery, zap the monster eggs you've bred on your other islands, and they'll transform into the electrical energy required to wake up this Wublin. | ” |
— In-game statue description |
Wublins are a sub-class of Supernatural Monsters that are exclusive to Wublin Island. There are a total of 38 Wublins, with 19 Common Wublins, and 19 Rare Wublins. Like the Supernatural Wubbox, the Wublins are purchased from the Market and start in an inactive form. To start contributing to Wublin Island's song and generating currency, they must be woken up by zapping Eggs from Breeding Structures on other islands. Each Common Wublin has a time limit, so you need to zap the required Eggs before they 'expire'. Once they are awakened, they will generate Coins, Food, Shards, or rarely Diamonds at random.
Obtaining[]
All Wublins are initially bought as statues for Coins. In a way akin to, but not exactly like, Wubbox, the Wublins require Natural Monster eggs (straight from the Breeding Structure) to be "zapped" into them. However, unlike Wubbox, the Wublins must have their inventories completed in a set amount of time. If an inventory is not completed, the eggs will "go bad". Once a Wublin statue has a full inventory, it is ready to be awakened. Multiple Wublins can be inactive at once, and you can have as many of each species as you want.
Once an egg is zapped into a Wublin statue, a countdown timer begins. This time ranges from two to fourteen days. All of the required eggs must be zapped into the Wublin before the time limit expires. If the time expires, all progress on that Wublin is lost, and the process will have to be restarted.
After they expire there are two options: collect the coin value of the expired eggs or pay a certain amount of diamonds to buy the missing eggs that weren't collected within the time limit. Tapping on the icon above the expired Wublin will give a message saying "Your Wublin has expired! You were <percentage>% done, with <number> eggs to box. Would you like to collect the coin value of the eggs and try again, or buy the missing eggs for <number> ?". An icon of a dustbin full of smelly eggs appears above the expired Wublin.
Awakening Strategy[]
For general tips on Zapping Monsters, see Zapping#Strategy. Specialized breeding guides are available on the strategy sections of each Wublin. Most of the difficulty that comes from awakening Wublins is getting Quad-element Monsters reliably. The best way to do this is by breeding a quad with it's Rare.
One recommended order for which Wublins to awaken first is given below. This order is based on overall difficulty and island management. "Min" refers to the minimum island that is required for zapping without Premium Structures or diamonds. "Rec" refers to the recommended island for the reasonable person to awaken the Wublin. Some suggestions are also given for helpful Islands, but they are not required.
- Brump (min. Plant, rec. Cold) - Plant alone with one Breeding Structure requires very carefully timed logons.
- Zynth (min. Cold)
- Zuuker (min. Cold, rec. Air or Water)
- Blipsqueak (min. Air) - Difficulty is from 4 Deedge in 5 days.
- Bona-Petite (min. Air, rec. Earth) - Requires several Quads
- Poewk (min. Water)
- Screemu (min. Water)
- Tympa (min. Water, rec. Earth) - Takes almost double the time to fill without Earth Island; Added difficulty from 8 Shellbeats in 14 days
- Creepuscule (min. Water, helpful Oasis) - Difficulty from 5 Deedges and Shellbeats in 7 days; Fire Oasis gives a bit of room for error when breeding Quads.
- Whajje (min. Water, helpful Earth or Haven) - Difficulty from 7 Deedges in 10 days; Earth Island gives a bit of room for error when breeding Quads.
- Astropod (min. Water, rec. Earth or Haven) - Requires several quads; Earth Island is recommended for Reedlings
- Pixolotl (min. Water, rec. Earth or Haven) - Technically possible with Air, but requires Premium Structures or diamonds; also requires several Quads
- Monculus (min. Earth)
- Thwok (min. Earth) - Quads should be bred before Zapping
- Dwumrohl (min. Earth, helpful Haven and Oasis.)
- Scargo (min. Water, rec. Earth) - With just Water, needs carefully timed zapping multiple times a day; added difficulty from 3 Shellbeat in 3 days
- Fleechwurm (min. Earth, helpful Haven) - Some difficulty from 3 Shellbeat and Quarristers in 5 Days; Fire Haven gives more room for error with the Quads
- Maulch (min. Earth)
- Dermit (min. Earth) - Difficulty is from 3 Entbrats and Quarristers in 3 Days
- Gheegur (min. Earth, helpful Haven) - Technically possible with just Water, but requires Premium Structures or diamonds; added difficulty from 6 Riffs in 7 days
Rare Wublins[]
“ | Thanks to constant exposure to the special Supernatural Element of Electricity (which represents the culmination of the five Natural Elements plus Fire), evolutionary potential on Wublin Island is almost second nature. Eliminating the need for Relics and requiring only Keys scoured from other repositories across the Monster World, the Wubbox has re-engineered the spark of life to draw power from Zapped Rare eggs and to not expire over time! After being placed into a state of hibernation and filled with the appropriate inventory of Zapped eggs, this Monster was reborn as a Rare Wublin. | ” |
— In-game description at the beginning of every Rare Wublin bio |
Rare Wublins were added on April 5th, 2023 with the 3.9.0 update. Rares are obtained by evolving an awakened common Wublin. The Wublin will have a new inventory, which must first be unlocked with 2 to 14 Keys. The cost of evolution in keys will be equivalent to the number of days given to fill the common Wublin; spare the exception of Monculus, who costs 12 keys. Rare Wublins require approximately one-third the number of eggs compared to their common counterparts, and require Rare Monsters instead of commons. Once you zap the first egg, the Wublin will go into a state of hibernation, where it won't collect Currency or sing until completed. Luckily, there is no time limit for evolving a Wublin, so you can complete it at your own pace. Rare Wublins are available any time, but the required Rare Monsters will still need to be available to fill it. Alternatively, Eggs can be filled for 100 each.
Once a Monster evolves into a Rare Wublin, it will earn 25% more Treats, Coins, and Shards, and 1 extra Diamond. Only 3 of each species of Rare Wublin may be owned at a time.

Income[]
- For how to maximize the space on Wublin Island for the most Wublins, see Wublin Island Grid Planning
Monsters on Wublin Island earn a random amount of a random Currency. Possible currencies are: Coins, Shards, Treats, and Diamonds. After a Wublin's currency is collected, the server will randomly generate the time when the Wublin will next produce currency, evenly distributed between 6 - 12 hours for Wublins with neutral polarity, and a currency type. Once the Wublin has produced the currency, it will not generate any additional currency until it is collected.
Each Wublin has a small chance of producing Diamonds, with the percentage chance depending on the size of the Wublin and how difficult it is to fill its inventory. The other currency types are then equally likely for the remaining outcomes.
Currency Rates[]
The quantity of Coins, Shards, or Treats generated depends on the length of the collection time, with each currency generated at a consistent hourly rate. Diamonds are always produced in the same quantity, which depends on the Wublin's size and rarity, regardless of collection time.
The Polarity mechanic causes the Wublin to generate the same amount of currency faster or slower—25% faster for fully positive polarity, and 25% slower for fully negative—while rarity causes the Wublin to produce 25% more currency.
An exception to the neutral Polarity rates can be found with Monculus (which has no Polarity effects applied to it). It appears to have slightly increased rates, inconsistent across the Currency types:
Coins/hr | Treats/Hour | Shards/Hour | Time window (h) | |
---|---|---|---|---|
6,662.5 (x 1.025) |
1,250 (x 1.0416) |
25 (x 1.0416) |
6 | 12 |
The number of Diamonds produced depends only on the grid size of the Monster and the rarity.

2 | 3 |

3 | 4 |

Currency Range for Common Wublins[]
Note that the number of diamonds produced changes based on the Wublin's grid size.
Production Type | min (6 hours +/- 25%, depending on polarity) | max (12 hours +/- 25%, depending on polarity) |
---|---|---|
Coins | 39,000 | 78,000 |
Treats | 7,200 | 14,400 |
Shards | 144 | 288 |
Diamonds | 2 - 5 | 2 - 5 |
Currency Range for Rare Wublins[]
Note that the number of diamonds produced changes based on the Wublin's grid size.
Production Type | min (6 hours +/- 25%, depending on polarity) | max (12 hours +/- 25%, depending on polarity) |
---|---|---|
Coins | 48,750 | 97,500 |
Treats | 9,000 | 18,000 |
Shards | 180 | 360 |
Diamonds | 3 - 4 | 3 - 4 |
Currency Type Distribution[]
Currency distribution was revealed in the 'Culture Shock' video[1] to be linked to various factors—"the time you are given to fill its Zapped Egg inventory, the difficulty of the Eggs in the inventory, and its grid size on the Island—put simply: harder to get Wublins are now worth more". Since each Wublin's diamond generation rate needs to be determined separately, many more data points are needed to have accurate figures for each Wublin's percentages.
Please do not edit this table based on guesses.
Please do not take this table as absolute truth either. Data collection is still underway; these numbers could be off by as much as several percentage points, particularly for Wublins with a lower number of data points.

Known Bugs[]
In the initial release of the Wublins, pressing the Biggify icon of awoken Wublin and pressing cancel caused the Wublin to display additional options that could not be accessed normally. This bug was corrected on March 29th, 2016.
- One of these options was the ability to feed it, which cost 2,000,000 food and did not seem to have any effect on the Wublin -- its level, seen only via the glitch, stayed at 1 and the level progress bar remained empty.
- Beginning August 29, 2017, you can now purchase and place decorations on Wublin Island. Some decorations cause a Wublin to get "happy" (that is, hearts float off of the Wublin) when placed within proximity of the Wublin. Whether this is a glitch or does in fact increase the Wublin's happiness level is unknown. It is also unknown what effect, if any, a Wublin's happiness level has on their currency production. The decorations that cause this effect are Digger, Toob, Ambered Thing, and Tub Fountain.
- Those decorations mentioned above are the decorations liked by the Wubbox, who arrived at Wublin Island at around the same time.
- Prior to August 29, 2017, it was also possible to display the Wublin's supposed likes, which were the same for all of the Wublins: Digger, Toob, and Ambered Thing, as well as the "mystery like" icon. One could seem to buy the decorations from the page of likes, and place them on the island. However, no coins were spent when "buying" one, and after the decoration was placed, it couldn't be selected again. When one left the island, all the decorations disappeared. Strangely, the Wublin's likes were the same as the Wubbox's likes; if the Mystery Like was Tub Fountain, that is.
- Tapping out of the monster made the glitch disappear.
- On March 5th, 2021, following a maintenance check (specifically on March 5th 12am EST), filling Wublins with diamonds incorrectly costed 0 diamonds. This allowed people to fill many Wublins for free. This glitch only took 6 hours to get fixed. This bug may be regarded to be the most game-breaking bug in MSM history, due to the fact that it allowed players to fill up their entire Wublin Island very quickly, including Wublins that are difficult to obtain, like Dwumrohl. BBB never removed Wublins obtained in this manner or otherwise punished any players who abused the bug, and they never mentioned it after.
- The bug was fixed on around March 5th, 2021, at 10am EST.
- Currently, there is an issue where if you fill some or all of the Rare eggs of your potential-unlocked Wublins with diamonds, your diamonds will not be taken and the “Evolve” button will not do anything other than to display a regular Monster GUI, and the ability to unmute the Wublin.

Notes[]
- Five more Monsters were added to Wublin Island than initially planned. This is because the composer of Wublin Island, Dave Kerr, felt like the song wasn't finished. (Confirmed via a question during Blake at Stake's Creator Experience.)
- If a fully zapped and awoken Wublin is sold and then bought back, it will not revert to an empty statue. However, if a Wublin is sold and bought back, but is only partially filled, its inventory will be completely empty upon being bought back.
- If a partially filled Rare Wublin is sold and then bought back, it will start singing again with its Rare inventory emptied. Wublins with their potential unlocked that are able to be bought back still count towards limit of three of each Rare Wublin.
- In previous versions of MSM, the Wublins inventory showed separate "slots" for each egg.
- Prior to April 5, 2023, all Wublins generated diamonds at the same rate of 7%.
- The first five Wublins released each represent a different instrument type: Brump is vocal, Zynth is a synthesizer, Poewk is a wind instrument, Thwok is a string instrument, and Dwumrohl is percussion.
- Starting with Zuuker, a new Wublin was released on the last Friday of every month, ending when Wubbox was added to Wublin Island. The exceptions to this were Tympa, Blipsqueak, and Scargo.
- In the Wubbox discount on April 9th, 2016, it shows Wubbox having an interview on the Wublins. On this image in Facebook, the caption states that when asked who made the Wublins, Wubbox merely shrugged. However, there appear to be (inactive) Wublins in the background of the picture, indicating some sort of connection.
- Later, on May 21st, 2016, this post revealed many faces of Wubbox, including the "sneaky" face, which is what Wubbox had when it shrugged.
- On August 30, 2017, it was revealed that Wubbox is the creator of the Wublins in an update that added it to Wublin Island.
- A GIF file was found on Facebook about some monster research of the first 5 Wublins. The GIF file can be found here, and can be split into its component frames by using certain programs or websites.
- The Wublin to currently require the most eggs in order to be woken up is Dwumrohl, who takes 14 days (or 2 weeks) to collect 72 eggs.
- Even though there is no Castle on Wublin Island, and no Bed Counter on the Island Select Screen, all Wublins appear to take up 1 bed according to the Fabled Book of Monsters.
- The Wublins do not have levels and do not require feeding, unlike Wubbox.
- Beginning on August 29, 2017, you can now buy multiple Wublins of the same type.
- Thwok is the only string-based Wublin.
- All of the Wublins require only Natural Monsters.
- All of the Rare Wublins require Rare versions of the eggs used for their respective Common counterparts, and require about one-third the number of eggs.
- Zapping a monster to a Wublin will give the same XP as if you had placed the monster on the island.
- The most common Monster used by the Wublins is T-Rox, used 45 times across all the Wublins.
- The least used Monster is Pango, used only twice.
- The Monster used for the least Wublins is Potbelly, only being used for Dwumrohl.
- The Monster used for the most Wublins is Shellbeat, which is needed for nine Wublins.
- The Wublins don't remember anything from before they receive the Spark of Life and awaken as they are technically just statues and don't exist as beings yet, simply just being works of art.
- In the moment of awakening, the Wublins first feel a massive surge of electricity that immediately jump-starts their desire to make music. This can be thought as being similar to jump-starting a car.
- The Wublins’ sleeping animations look exactly like their statues. The only 2 slight exceptions are Poewk and Scargo, as Poewk’s pipes are in the ground in its statue form, and Scargo’s arms are tucked into its shell in its statue form.
- The Wublins and their Rare counterparts share the same polarities. For example, Brump positively affects Poewk, and Rare Brump positively affects Rare Poewk.
- An early name for the Wublins was "Ampires." It was changed to "Wublins" when the Monster-Handlers liked Brump saying, "Wake up the Wublins."[2]
