This is the main article for Wublin Island. For the category, see Category:Wublin Island.

Welcome to Wublin Island! This realm is unlike any before it... and likely any to follow!

Once breeding is complete, you can choose to zap a Monster egg into a Wublin statue to give it the spark of life and wake it up! Check a Wublin's inventory to see which eggs it needs, but act fast - unless all the necessary eggs are collected and zapped within the time allotted, the eggs will go bad and you'll need to start the process again. Good luck, and have fun waking up the Wublins!

Help description
Coursing with the Supernatural Element of Electricity, Wublin Island's true origin is unknown. Thanks to clues recovered from its static surface, the going theory is that this realm was designed and brought to life by a mysterious entity who wanted some playmates. Its solution? To create those playmates from its own imagination, and zap them into being using the power of Electricity. And thus, the Wublins were born. A shocking idea, to say the least.

About[]

Wublin Island Wublin Island is an Island added in Version 1.4.0, on March 24th, 2016.

This Island is home to the Wublins, Supernatural entities powered by the eggs of Natural Monsters. Wublin Island does not have a Castle, and thus, the Wublins do not take up any beds. Prior to Version 2.4.1, you could not place any Structures on Wublin Island.

On August 30th, 2017, Version 2.1.0. came out. This update added Wubbox to Wublin Island, allowed multiple Wublins to be purchased and placed on the Island, and let players buy and place Decorations.

On June 3rd, 2020, Version 2.4.1 came out. This update allowed the following Structures to be placed on the Island: the Time Machine, the Fuzer, the Storage Structure, and the Recording Studio.

On April 5th, 2023, Version 3.9.0 came out. This update added a new system known as Polarity (similar to Likes), and introduced Rare Wublins. It also reduced/increased the cost of certain Wublins (including Wubbox), and reduced the grid space taken by several Wublins.

On June 7th, 2023, Version 3.9.2 came out. This update added Monculus as an Aux. Seasonal on both Wublin and Ethereal Island.

Song[]

Composer(s): Dave Kerr, Tom Meikle (Monculus)

Wublin Island's music starts off in a jazz/swing like manner and then becomes more electronic and upbeat judged by the background of the song.

It plays at 134 BPM with a 4/4 time signature or 67 BPM if the time signature is 2/2 in mostly C Minor. The song is also available to download via the My Singing Monsters Soundtrack volume 1.

The ambiance is an electricity sound, zapping through the Island.

Song Table[]

This is a chart that shows where each Monster plays in the song. Each part is 16 beats long. The number next to each Monster indicates which track is being played at each part.

Indigenous Monsters[]

As of February 28th, 2024, there are 19 Common Wublins and 15 Rare Wublins. It costs from 2,000Coins to 34,000Coins to buy each Wublin. When purchased, the Wublins start out as statues. Similar to Wubbox, each Wublin must be powered up. You must fill the Wublin's inventory by zapping eggs from other Islands under a time limit. Once the Wublin's inventory is filled, you have the option to 'wake it up'. Rare and Epic Monster eggs are not accepted for Common Wublins.

To obtain Rare Wublins, you first have to 'unlock' the Wublin's evolutionary potential using Keys. The amount of Keys required varies between Wublins. Then you have to zap all the required Rare Monster eggs into the Wublin. Unlike awakening Common Wublins, there is no time limit to zap eggs into a Rare Wublin. Once the first egg is zapped, the Monster will go into a dormant state where it does not produce currency or make sound until all eggs have been zapped.

On August 30th, 2017, Wubbox was added to Wublin Island. Wubbox is unlocked at level 20 and costs 75,000,000Coins. To power up Wubbox, you must box all 19 Wublins. Only Wublins that have been awoken can be boxed.

Seasonal Events[]

Life-Formula[]

During the holiday season of Life-Formula, Wublin Island does not change, but does have access to a Seasonal. Life-Formula primarily happens on Ethereal Island.

  • For 2023, Life-Formula was from June 7th to June 19th.
A special Seasonal Monster, the Monculus, is available for purchase in the Market during the Life-Formula season, and can be woken up at any time once it is purchased. It was first released on June 1st, 2022, but got added to Ethereal Island, as well as Wublin Island, on June 7th, 2023. Monculus
A special Seasonal Monster, the Rare Monculus, can be evolved at any time from an awakened Common Monculus. Rare Monculus was released on December 13th, 2023. Rare Monculus

Strategy[]

For strategies on how to place Wublins to maximize currency generation, see Wublin_Island_Grid_Planning#Maximizing_Income.

More information on currency generation can be found in the Wublins page. The table with the data collected so far on Diamond generation rates is on that page also: Wublins#Currency Type Distribution.

Upcoming Monsters[]

Main article: Upcoming Features

Future Rare Wublins will be added to Wublin Island. Once all Rare Wublins are released, Rare Wubbox will also be added to the Island. It is possible, but not confirmed, that Epic Wublins might be added as well, along with the corresponding Epic Wubbox.

Notes[]

Two brumps

A Wublin Island with two Brumps

  • There was a bug where the first time you tap on a Wublin (after you have activated it), it gives you the normal Monster's menu, including its likes and the levels with feeding. Therefore, it was possible to put Decorations on Wublin Island. The Decorations will vanish if you leave the Island, however. Feeding a Wublin was impossible, but with low connection, when you wake up a Wublin, it will show you that you need 2,000,000 Treats to feed, before switching to the Wublin Monster menu. This was fixed on March 29th, 2016.
    • This was also possible to do by tapping the Biggify button if the Wublin didn't have biggification bought, and then selecting the X button.
  • The Wublins' Memory Game sounds used to only be able to be heard in the old Book of Monsters, though with Version 3.8.2, a button was added in the Activities tab that let you play the Memory Game on any Island.
  • Wublin Island used to not have an ambiance track, but in Update 2.0, an ambiance track was finally added.
  • The first five Wublins (Brump, Zynth, Poewk, Thwok, and Dwumrohl) never play all at the same time.
  • Within the Wublin Island trailer, other than the first five Wublins, Whajje, Gheegur, Screemu, Creepuscule, Wubbox, and Blipsqueak can all be heard. (Wubbox is audible only for a split second.)
  • Wubbox was teased in the tutorial not only by its sound playing in the background, but also by Monster-Handler Matt telling us "...the way you add Wublins to your collection is unlike any other... well, except maybe one." with the 'one' being Wubbox, as you get it by Boxing other Monsters into it.
  • Prior to the redesign of the Book of Monsters in Version 2.1.6, Wubbox's portrait was placed after Scargo and before the last five Wublins released on the Island (Astropod, Pixolotl, Bona-Petite, Maulch, and Fleechwurm). Here, most Wublins were listed in the order they were released.
    • These same five Monsters were not audible in the Wublin Island tutorial or the My Singing Monsters Soundtrack, which included all other Wublins, including teasing those who had not been released yet. This alludes to those five Wublins not being originally planned during the Island's release cycle, instead being added to the song later on.
  • On August 29th, 2017, players now had the ability to place more than one Wublin of each type on Wublin Island. This is presumably to help fill up the Wubbox added there on the same day.
    • Additionally, on the same day, Decorations were made available on Wublin Island.
    • Wublin Island was given more mechanics on April 5th, 2023, with the introduction of Polarity and Rare Wublins, adding new strategy to the Island.
  • Wublin Island was formerly one of two Islands to have Monsters that all belong to the same Element and Class, but this was changed with the addition of Monculus. Because of this, the only Island with this property is Celestial Island.
    • Coincidentally, it was one of three Islands that was only voiced by Maggie and Dave up until the addition of Monculus (the others being Celestial Island and Starhenge)
  • Despite the Island's help description saying that Wublin Island is "unlike any [Island] before it… and likely any to follow," the Celestials in the original game have the exact same mechanics as the Wublins. It still has not been changed; in fact, Amber Island used these mechanics once more. However, the Celestials are different from a story perspective, because they already existed in Dawn of Fire, while the Wublins are being given life for the first time.
  • All of the Eggs needed by Wublins are Common Natural Monsters. No Monsters of any other class are needed.
    • This is likely due to the Monsters either being too difficult (Ethereals and Shugafam), time-limited (Seasonals and Rares), nonexistent until after Wublin Island was complete (Fire, Magicals, and Mythicals), or more than one of these.
  • The hardest Wublins to wake up are generally agreed by players of the game to be Dwumrohl, Tympa, and Dermit, taking into account the hefty amount of Monsters needed to fill them, along with their time.
  • The grid spaces on the middle podium are not aligned correctly. This causes Wubbox to not be centered if placed there.
  • Wublin Island is the first Island without a base collection of exactly fifteen Monsters (out of all Islands with a collection in the Book of Monsters). The second is Celestial Island, and the third is Amber Island. Additionally, they are all Zapping Islands.
  • Despite being on Gold Island, Wubbox on this Island cannot be placed there because none of the Monsters can be fed on this Island.
  • Wublin Island's song is the loudest in the game.
    • It is the second loudest in the franchise after Cave Island.
  • Wublin Island used to have the most 3x3 grid spaced Monsters out of any other Island in the game, being seventeen. However, in Version 3.9.0, this number has gone down, as eight Wublins now take up 2x2 spaces, now resulting in nine.
    • Amber Island also has nine Monsters that take up a 3x3 grid space, which makes both Wublin and Amber Island tied for having the most 3x3 grid spaced Monsters.
  • Wublin Island is not a Titan or Colossal. It is an Island built by Wubbox in the likeness of a Colossal, as confirmed by Monster-Handler Matt in the 2022 Wrap Up.
  • Before Version 3.8, there was no way to see how many likes your Wublin Island had, since the Island doesn't have a Castle. However, a tab was added to the info screen to see how many likes your Island has without a Castle.
  • Wublin Island is the only Island that Wubbox is on where the song is not 140 or 70BPM. Instead it plays at 134BPM, causing Wubbox's idle animation to be slightly out of time when compared to other Islands.
  • There is a bug when you go into the market to buy a Wublin or Wubbox. Right after you purchase the Wublin or Wubbox, if you press the confirm button and click on a dormant Wublin right after, it will show the wake up button. Note that it doesn't actually do anything.
  • Given the other Aux. Seasonals, it is highly likely that there will be an Epic Monculus, meaning there will need to be a new way of evolving Monculus on Wublin Island, if the Epic Monculus is made avaiable there.
  • Wublin Island was originally going to be inside a Colossal's head.[1] The concept of an Island taking place indoors was later reused for Seasonal Shanty and Ethereal Workshop.
  • Wublin Island, Celestial Island and Composer Island are the only Islands where Monsters cannot be leveled up. (Monsters on Gold Island can be leveled up from their original Island.)
