Pop! goes the Wheezel… or maybe it's more like a plop. Of course the Earth Mythical would dream up some bizarre, sibilating automaton like this. Of course it would be based on a classic prank like a jack-in-the-box. Of course the Dreamythical's outer shell would be adorned with the same unusual symbols that cover its creator's pelt. Long before its creation in the dreamspace, toys just like it would find their way into the possession of beings across the Monster World, and would subject the unsuspecting to a startling surprise - undoubtedly the handiwork of its progenitor. A Monster of this style calls to mind the unusual life-forms of Wublin Island; it just goes to show that if you can dream it, the power of dreamcraft will make it a reality!
Monster Bio

Description[]

Wheezel is a Dreamythical Monster exclusive to Mythical Island. It was added alongside Hyehehe and Epic Humbug on February 15th, 2023 during Version 3.8.2. Song[]

Audio:

Wheezel makes a weird sub bass sound to contribute to its song. It sometimes spits when it does this. It produces the sound in a way that mimics beatboxing.

VSTs[]

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Wheezel:

Notes[]

  • Wheezel's name is a combination of wheeze, a corruption of the word, weasel (from the phrase/nursery rhyme "Pop Goes The Weasel", which is mostly associated with Jack-In-The-Boxes, and said nursery rhyme is commonly used in these toys, as it's mentioned in its bio), and wheel.
  • Wheezel is the first Mythical Monster not mainly based on a real-life animal, but its appearance does resemble the barnacle. Its hand resembles a barnacle's cirri, the jack-in-the-box resembles the barnacle's shell, and it behaves like one when it opens its door to play. It resembles the feeding behaviors of barnacles when filtering the water for food, or absorbing oxygen from the water with their cirri.
    • Its name also comes from an animal, which, in this case, is obviously the weasel.
  • Like other Dreamythicals, Wheezel's income at Level 1 is 10,215 Coins, which is a reference to its release date.
  • Wheezel and Hyehehe together bear the four playing card suits: Wheezel has Hearts and Clubs, while Hyehehe has Spades and Diamonds.
  • If you count Wheezel as a percussionist, it is the third Mythical percussion monster, with the first being Sporerow and the second being shLep.
