Werdos' Wordmark

Werdos are four Monsters of the Legendary Monsters class, and include Tawkerr, Parlsona, Maggpi, and Stoowarb. They were introduced on March 14th, 2017 during Version 2.0.4, with them being added on one island at a time. They can be purchased for 100 , and two Werdos are available on each of the Natural Islands. Unlike most Monsters, the Werdos sing actual lyrics. When added to an island, they also alter its song by lengthening or adding sections.

Song

Plant Island

On Plant Island, Tawkerr and Parlsona both sing about growing and raising plants, they also sing about how plants act in different climates and situations. They contribute to the following lyrics:

• Parlsona: Every Monster knows... how the plants grow! And every Monster cares! And they know how they shape and they feed them! And they keep them alive! Let's watch plants grow! Let's watch plants grow!
• Both: Everything here is alive! (X2)
• Tawkerr: They sleep when it gets cold. And the leaves turn. They turn red and they turn gold. They need sunlight and water and earth and the air to keep them alive. That's how plants grow! That's how plants grow!
• Both: Everything here is alive! (X4)
• Parlsona: A note becomes a chord, becomes a phrase, becomes... a melody! And a note... becomes... a Monster!
• Both: Everything here is alive! (X2)
• Both: You plant a seed, it settles in... and then it bursts! And then it splits, and makes a twin! Then, there were more. Look, across the landscape, and you'll find. It's just a bunch of plants!

Cold Island

On Cold Island, Tawkerr and Maggpi are the only Werdos currently available. They sing about a completely different topic than Plant Island; being lonely and sad. They also talk about being cold and percived as creepy. In this song, Tawkerr sings in a quite lower tone than any other island’s Werdo.

• Maggpi: Look at the stars in the big black ink, tell me what you feel and tell me what you think, Is it cold outside? Is it cold out?

• Tawkerr: This... is what I live for! This... is a wondrous chill! And yes... it can be lonely, but hey... do what you will!
• Both: Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. It's because I am... weird. Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. It's because I'm so... cold.
• Both: Is it cold outside? (X4)

Air Island

On Air Island, Parlsona and Stoowarb sing about the meaning of their life, being discarded as elementary Monsters and being outcasts, yet overcoming and motivating each other to be positive and find joy in life.

• Stoowarb: They say that we are Monsters, but I don't really care, just elementary monsters, it's all up in the air!
• Parlsona: And now that you have landed, together we will share, a carefree life for Monsters, because here we walk on air!
• Both: You can see me in the sky and yet you don't know how to fly, and I don't want to be here alone.
• Both: Take a chance, just take a step, and take a leap a faith with me, Can't you feel it? It's in the Air!

Water Island

On Water Island, Maggpi and Parlsona sing about finding a home and overcoming negative emotions such as stress, and taking life on as it is.

• Maggpi: The ocean's deep, the currents strong!
• Parlsona: Right here I found, where I belong!
• Both: It's all around. Can you feel the sound? I'm alright now - cool, calm, and clear like water. I'll make it somehow. I'll go with the flow like water! I'm alright now - cool, calm, and clear like water. I'll make it somehow. I'll go with the flow like water!

Earth Island

On Earth Island, Tawkerr and Stoowarb dance the "Earthquake" and sing about bravery.

Feeding Monsters

Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

Reading Mailbox of Werdos discount (Anniversary Month 2017)

• The name "Werdo" is likely a portmanteau of "word" and "weirdo". Word as in they can sing actual words, and weirdo as in they are the only monsters who sing words that sing for most of the song with sentences that make sense.
• The Werdos' names originate from their voice actors.
  • Tawkerr is voiced by Dave Kerr.
  • Parlsona is voiced by Sarah Parsons.
  • Maggpi is voiced by Maggie Park.
  • Stoowarb is voiced by Matthew J. Stewart.
• The Plant Island song was extended when they were introduced.
  • Tawkerr on Cold Island doesn't extend the song, though the last verse is modified. The song is extended with Maggpi, though.
• If one were to purchase 100 Relics (and thus a Werdo) solely with Diamonds, on a single day, the cost would exceed 4765  .
• The first two Werdos (Parlsona and Tawkerr) were first teased in the "Think you know the My Singing Monsters?" Youtube video. At the end, they can be heard faintly singing 'Everything here is alive'.
• The Werdos were discounted to 50% for a few days during Anniversary Month in 2017-2021. During holiday events since 2021 (and possibly previous years), the Werdos on the main holiday island have been discounted to 50% for a few days.
• During the planning stage for the Werdos, a concept known as the Lyriks was made. Each Island was going to only have one Lyrik, and each Lyrik's design was going to look like the island it inhabits.
  • The visual design idea was eventually reused for Epic Wubbox.
• All Werdos share the same color of horns (yellow-and-black stripes) and the same incubation time of 8 hours (or 6 hours when the Nursery is enhanced).
• Some of the Achievements have names which resemble the Werdos' lyrics, namely "In the Air" and "It's Cold Outside".
• Relics are what empowers the Werdos to write their lyrics, as mentioned in the [March 20th, 2020 MSM Live stream]. In a promotion, it is shown that the Werdos eat musical notes inside relics to get the lyric power.

  

• Plant Island and Earth Island are the only Natural Islands to have both their Werdos released on the same date.
• During the ExtraLife MSM Live episode, it was confirmed by Monster-Handler Matt that all the Werdos are related in the same way all humans are distantly related.
• The Werdos' tracks are too long to be replaced in the Recording Studio.
• There are no islands with both Maggpi and Stoowarb.
  • This duo will most likely never appear on any island, due to Maggpi's voice actress, Maggie Park, leaving Big Blue Bubble, although she later came back along with Dave Kerr.
  • It is unknown which island would feature them, as each Natural Island already has a Werdo pair, and there are only 5 Natural Islands (not counting their Mirror counterparts).
• No matter what language or country My Singing Monsters is played in, the Werdos will always speak English even if the language is not understandable for people that can't understand English. Dave Kerr confirmed that the other translations of the lyrics can't fit into the music as well as Dave not learning much of other languages.
