My Singing Monsters Wiki

This is the main article for Titans. For the category, see Category:Titans.

The Titans are giant creatures that form several Islands in the Monster World: the Magical Islands, their Mirror Island counterparts, and five of the Island Skins of the Natural Islands. Unlike the Colossals, which are spirits inhabiting Islands, the Titans are physical Islands themselves. Most Titans have a known name and are all awake, although most still have their eyes closed.

Lore[]

The Titans are enormous beings with many different backgrounds. Some originate from the Monster World, while others come from other dimensions.

Five of the Titans, seen in the Island Skins, chose to live around the Natural Islands and share their Monster ecosystems: Harvherd, being made of plants and vegetables, lives near Plant Island; the snowy Sweti lives near Cold Island; the Gigacheep, a giant bird-like being, flies near Air Island; the Glubber, formerly the Glubpole which carried Party Island, now resides in the Living Ocean close to Water Island; and a stone scribe known only by the nickname Hahoo resides near Earth Island, containing records of the history of the Monster World etched into its body.

Five other Titans were the harbingers of a new class of Monsters known as the Magical Monsters. Four of them took the places of the Outer Islands, which disappeared after the Dawn of Fire, and are the home of Monsters formed of Magical elements, as well as Monsters of the Fire element and two Natural elements: Phosphora, representing the Light Element, originates from the Prism Dimension and replaces Party Island, following the path of a phenomenon known as the Aurora Monstralis; Cruv'laapht, representing the Psychic Element, takes the place of Space Island, barely in orbit of the Monster World; Faesodd, representing the Faerie Element, resides in the cloudy mists of the former location of Cloud Island; and Necrull, representing the Bone Element, lives deep underground in a system of caves connected to Fire Haven, taking the place of Cave Island. These four Titans are not native to the Monster World and were recruited by the Stair Shaper, an interstellar traveler originating from the Beyond with a desire to commune with other intelligent life. Once it learned of the history of the Colossals, the Stair Shaper dispatched the Titans to integrate into the Monster World in order to create life and form new songs. The last known Titan, named Enchantler, resides in the Pocket Dimension with aspirations of becoming a Colossal itself, and now acts as the home of Monsters formed only of the four Magical elements.

The four Titans of the Magical Islands have also been found to exist as Mirror Islands in the Mirror Timeline, an alternate continuity of the Monster World. In this timeline, the Titans were fused with the landmasses of their respective Outer Islands, which crashed into them after being brought from the Prism Dimension by the Stair Shaper, following the Cataclysm which ended the Dawn of Fire and removed the Outer Islands from the main timeline. Additionally, a Glubpole egg (likely the offspring of the Glubber of Glubber Lagoon), which was embedded in the soil of Party Island, fused with the Mirrored Phosphora when Party Island crashed into Mirror Light Island.

Name Origins[]

  • Vegetable Medley: Harvherd is a portmanteau of the words "harvest" and "herd".
  • Sweti Settlement: Sweti derives from the word "sweaty" and the Yeti, a cryptid purported to inhabit the Himalayas.
  • Gigacheep Nest: Gigacheep is a combination of the prefix "giga-", meaning "giant", and "cheep", the cry of a bird.
  • Glubber Lagoon: Glubber derives from "glub", the sound of underwater bubbles.
  • Temple of Hahoo: Hahoo is likely an onomatopoeic representation of laughter.
  • Light Island: Phosphora derives from "phosphor" and possibly "aurora". The name itself also means "bringer of light".
  • Psychic Island: Cruv'laapht is based on the entities from the science fiction works of H. P. Lovecraft, such as Azathoth and Cthulhu. It is also based on Lovecraft himself, with its name being Lovecraft with the "L" and "Cr" sounds switched.
  • Faerie Island: Faesodd is a portmanteau of "fae", "facade", and possibly "face" and "odd".
  • Bone Island: Necrull derives from the prefix "necro-", meaning "corpse", and the word "skull".
  • Magical Sanctum: Enchantler derives from "enchanter", "antler", and possibly "lantern".

Notes[]

  • Although the Titans are already awake, the only ones to ever actually open their eyes are Cruv'laapht and Enchantler. Phosphora originally had its eyes slightly open, but was changed to have them fully closed with the release of Phosphoran Phlox, which can fully open Phosphora's eyes.
  • The Titans on the Magical Islands are the same Titans whether you have a Seasonal Island Skin turned on or not.
  • The Vegetable Medley Titan, Harvherd, is one of the two Titans to not have its Island Skin name contain its own name inside of it, the other being the Temple of Hahoo, since Hyehehe's bio states that Hahoo is not its real name.
  • Enchantler's antlers are a naturally occurring part of its anatomy. The Monstromantic energy coursing through the antlers do not cause markings in them like they do in Enchantling's, due to their large size.
  • A contest determined the Enchantler's name, with the winner receiving 500 Diamonds and five Epic Monsters of their choice, and the runner-up(s) receiving 100 Diamonds and one Epic of their choice.
    • The top ten names that were not selected for the Titan's name became Enchantling's nicknames.
    • Prior to the contest, Enchantler was known as the "Titan-Who-Would-Be-Colossal".
    • It was explained that the Titan's name was originally lost to history, but was later revealed to be Enchantler. A similar situation could have happened to Hahoo, in which its real name was lost to history or engraved on its body in an unknown language.
