Monster Prehistory[]
Primordial Cosmic Hush[]
The Monster World began as a cosmic void, devoid of life and the Monsters that give this world its future namesake. Then a Big Bang-like event called the Big Clangor disrupted the hush, sending out a cacophony of sounds that fill the void cacophonously for billions of years to go.[1] As a result of this event, twelve beings known as the Celestials are born; guardians of the Elements. These Celestials are the first inhabitants of the Monster World. Furnoss, Celestial of Fire and first Celestial, is said to have been forged in the Living Core of the Monster World, a.k.a. the epicenter of the Big Bang-like event. Hornacle, Celestial of Water, is said to have been formed directly from that cacophony of sound, from a wave of which swelled and crashed upon the void. These waves eventually crashed upon the Monster World, giving rise to The Living Ocean. Syncopite, Celestial of Crystal, is said to have been formed from when the very silence of the Primordial Cosmic Hush grew so silent, that it was compressed by its own weight and collapsed on itself, forming a dense, luminous mass. Also coming from this event were the magical, time-warping Diamonds which appear everywhere around the Monster World. Each of these Celestials spread out among the new world, and took residence up among the stars, with each living within the metaphysical space of their own constellations. In this metaphysical state, they resembled compact, Egg-like orbs. Connected to the specific areas of their origin, and inspired by the constellatious shapes about them, each was imbued with their own Elemental power.
Over time, the prehistoric cacophonic Clangor echoing throughout the Monster World subsided, and silence took over once more. After some time, the unmistakably deep, sonorous voices of the Colossals were heard. The true names of the Colossals were lost to time, however their simpler names remained known (Grennitch, Frigil, Zeffree, Hyddryd, Sollum, Dulcettéa, Zarroë, Ahymnsa, Lanysta, Vawldee). These Colossals, disembodied spirits of creation, were inspired to harness the power of creation to make the Monster World a richer place. The Colossals were amazed by the world that lay before them, specifically the Celestial's Elemental affiliations. There was also something else that they saw, too. The emptiness. A blank -and most importantly, silent- canvas for them to work with, to shape to their liking. The first task the Colossals faced was to teach the twelve Celestials to sing. Each Celestial was taught to perform music in a style unique to them. The Celestials thus became the first singing Monsters. Next, they built a mysterious piece of clockwork for the Celestials upon which they could gather and sing in harmony with each other. This place, called Starhenge, as well as connecting the Celestials together, connected them to both their stars above and their Elements below, as it was positioned halfway between the stars and the living core. After this success, the Colossals wished to create a world full of harmonious singing Monsters, that could be combined of both the influences of nature and music.
Creation[]
To test their abilities of creation, the Colossals went to a Pocket Dimension off of the main dimension of The Monster World. This dimension acted as a sandbox for their experimentation of their creative powers. [citation needed] Here, they built the foundation for what would one day become Ethereal Island. In the early days of the Pocket Dimension, it was closed off to interdimensional travel. The Colossals then created the Life-Formula, which was the imbuement of vitalizing energies into sculptures of creatures, plucked right from giant spirits' imaginations. These sculptures were fashioned from the mineral bubblerite, which was a versatile building material favored most by the Colossals. Many prototype statues were made, including the Lowb, the Fandhul, the Bogle, the Droah, and the Tunefor, all of which were planned to be the Core Elementals of the Natural Elements, but they never reached the animation stage until many years later, where they became known as the Primordial Monsters (though at the time of writing, Lowb is the only one to be discovered). One of the first prototype Monsters the Colossals animated was the Monculus. They manipulated its moving parts with a plasmic form of Krystillium, which was the first-ever crystal to be made. The Spark of Life found in the Life-Formula was later shown to also be inhabited in the element of Electricity. They then selected five peculiar elements pre-emitted by the Cosmic Bang to tinker with, which were Plasma, Shadow, Mech, Crystal, and Poison. Their goal was to create more organic specimens. In doing so, they were able to successfully create the first single-elementals. They were deemed the Ethereal elements because of their dazzling potential. Enthusiastic, they continued their experiments by creating a device called the Breeding Structure to increase the possibility of monster hybrids through the process of combining elements, as well as the Nursery (aka the Incubation Structure) to aid heat and hatch the new eggs. However, these elements were deemed too dangerous for the breeding structure to handle when an attempt of three or more elements were performed, resulting in abandonment of the method. The Colossal Zarroë, who later volunteered to become what would eventually be the Ethereal Island, proposed a new method of action inside of the island with strange new devices forged on the island itself, which would later be known as the Ethereal Workshop.
Once experimentation was complete, the Colossals once again turned their attention to the main dimension of The Monster World (known as the Prime Reality), using Krystillium as the base Element upon which to do so. After the events prior to Monculus and the Ethereals, they tried their hand at creating monsters of Continental origin. They accidentally used a much stronger form of the Spark of Life, letting some of their power seep through, which created Cherubble. This extra power resulted in Cherubble having the ability of dreamcraft, which allows it to project part of its dreams into reality. Cherubble would then make its home within the coral reefs of the Living Ocean. The Blubberflies surrounding Cherubble also were among some of the first Critters to be made.
Using what they had learned in the teaching of the Celestials, the Colossals joined together in a Great Song that shaped and powered their creative willpower. (The Great Song is a very powerful tool in the arsenal of the Colossals, which allows them to create when they join together in song). Building off of the still-active and potent Living Core of Fire, the Colossals drew power and energy directly from the multiversal tree, the Stablo Mjehurića. Taking some of its sap, they infused the Living Core with crystallized amber and musical potential. Harnessing the power of the Stablo Mjehurića, the Colossals established what was to be the crowning jewel of The Monster World: The Continent. This landmass sat in the direct center of the infinitely vast expanse of the Living Ocean, directly above the Living Core, and directly underneath Starhenge. It was from the Continent that Starhenge too got its power, and is what allowed it to stay levitating.
The first Element in this world was the Element of Fire, and from it, the Natural Elements were born. Because of this, it is regarded as the most powerful Element of them all. As the Natural Elements come about, they each got lands of their own added to the Continent, except for Fire, which had not its own section of land. Instead, the Fire Element has a volcano leading to the Living Core of the Monster World, which represents its quiet, guiding presence to the Natural Elements. Each Elemental Land on the Continent had its own Crystals fashioned after the Pocket Dimensions own Krystillium. The Plant Lands had Vegidian, the Cold Lands had Frozium, the Air Lands had Skylite, the Water Lands had Aquanine, and the Earth Lands had Stonyx. Although there were no Fire Lands, there was still a Fire-affiliated Crystal, that being Pyrozite, which looked the most similar to Krystillium in appearance, as if it had just been recolored.
Using the pre-given Natural elements, the Colossals forged the new inhabitants of the Continent, the Natural monsters. They were the six deemed Naturals (Tweedle, Potbelly, Noggin, Toe Jammer, Mammott, and Kayna). And, using their previously created Breeding structure and Nursery, the Colossals were able to continue the process of monster making.
There was then a period of time between the Colossal's creating the Monsters and the Dawn of Fire before Monsters first sang together in unity. In this time, Monsters evolved, adapting to their environments, not yet unleashing their musical abilities. Several breeds of Monsters who share each other's likeness had co-evolved together, giving rise to the first Monster ‘families’. Pummels could swim without need of their planty membranes, and so could Phanglers– one such group even wished to touch the sun! There was also an ocean dwelling creature called Bowhead who has the amazing ability to levitate and shares traits with it's land dwelling cousin, Bowgart. The original common Kaynas– now known today as Rare Kaynas– were very populous, more so than the today-common cousin. And one particular peculiar breed decided to develop a different, non-lung way of breathing.
The Dawn of Fire[]
The Golden Age of the Monster World[]
The Dawn of Fire was a period when Monsters decided to sing together for the first time. During this time, the Monsters lived on the Continent, which was a vast landmass with five interconnected elemental lands. Once matured enough, these young Monsters could teleport over to the Outer Islands. The outer Islands exist in an infinitely vast expanse over the Living Ocean, and are populated only by the correct, eligible Monsters. Here, Monsters find their forever home. The original Outer Islands were Space Island, a dense sphere of rock encircled by rings of stone; Cloud Island, a series of platforms made of clouds, with paper birds flying all around; and Cave Island, situated in a cavern deep underground, sitting in a subterranean water pool.
Technology was booming during this age, so much so that it was referred to as the Golden Age of the Monster World.[citation needed] They had developed economic markets, trade relations with distant lands, machines for breeding, and even a teleporter. Discovery and adventure were high too, as they decided to claim a sea leviathan with a rock on its back as an Island for them to sing and celebrate doing so upon; this place was called Party Island.
From the Celestials' divine perch of Starhenge, they watched over the Monster World, guiding and protecting all who bore their Elements; although they usually stay as dormant eggs in their constellations, needing to be summoned downward by the powers of Star Charts and Cosmic Dice (mysterious objects connected to the Celestial powers of Starhenge). Thrumbles, long-necked Monsters who enjoyed stargazing, took it upon themselves to name the twelve Constellations of the Elements. Poison’s was called Poison’s Mark, Shadow’s was called Shadowed Glare, Earth’s was called Earthen Ellipse, Plasma’s was called Plasmic Ooze, Air’s was called Weathered Winds, Water’s was called Ocean’s Tears, Fire’s was called Core Aflame, Cold’s was called Frozen Form, Plant’s was called Growing Green, Crystal’s was called Crystalline Crop, Mech’s was called Mettle Gears, and Electricity’s was called Immortal Jolt.[2]
A strange extra-dimensional portal, the Prism Gate, was found, possibly being sentient. As Monsters entered it, they transformed into colorful new variants that looked completely different from the original, yet still sounding the same. Due to the amount of Monsters traversing the Prism Gate, the Outer Islands required Hotel to be constructed to fit the overflow of Monsters.
One crisp autumn night on the Continent, in a pumpkin patch of decent size, a pumpkin was struck with a bolt from the blue, causing one of the pumpkins to come to life as the Punkleton, the first Monster of a class called the Seasonals. The Seasonals didn’t fit in with the other monsters, and in result enjoyed decorating their environments with seasonal decorations to bring joy to others. Punkleton decided to decorate the Plant Lands in spooky decor, its fellow Monsters in kooky costumes, and called its Seasonal Event the Spooktacle.[3] Similarly, a Mon-made Coldman sprang to life as the jolly Yool, celebrating the Seasonal Event of Festival of Yay, and setting the Cold Lands of the Continent in festive decor. [4] The third Seasonal to grace the Continent with its presence was born when love letters written on feathers all gathered in one place, thus giving rise to the Schmoochle, who celebrated the lovely event of Season of Love on the Air Lands of the Continent.[5] A relative to the Reedlings soon evolved who, similarly to Reedlings, did not breathe through its lungs. This Monster was the bubble-blowing Blabbit. This Seasonal of Eggs-Travaganza loved to paint and hide eggs and dress up the Water Lands of the continent accordingly.[6] The final Seasonal began as an innocent egg incubating, one that was destined to be a member of the Pomily. Two members of the Pomily, PomPom and Sooza, were playing a friendly game of ring toss. As the competition and afternoon became heated, a rogue ring whipped through the air and lodged itself firmly around the unsuspecting egg. Once the egg cracked, the Hoola: a playful Seasonal with a mischievous streak that started the day it hatched with its hoop in hand. Hoola began to celebrate its warm SummerSong on the Earth Lands at the hottest point of the year.[7]
After the Colossals had finished and finalized the Natural Monsters, they decided to make a few more creations as a pet project of sorts. These Monsters were the Mythicals. Mythical lived up to their title as most Monsters rarely ever saw them, with most even doubting their existence, becoming cryptids over time.[8] Following their addition to the Continent, the landmass' Castle that housed all the Monsters recived a much-needed upgrade.
During this time, it is believed that there was a distant planet where a strange species called home. This was a population of Anglows. On an unknown date, a specific Anglow was tasked by their leader to find a new planet in an attempt to make peace with the monsters that lived there. The Anglow was then off to explore when suddenly the spaceship started to malfunction. The craft was sent hurdling though the cosmos with the frightened pilot still inside it. It crashed into the prehistoric living ocean in an area now known as the Monstriana Trench. The Anglow timidly stepped out of the ship and into the water, but this was not a new environment to it because its planet is entirely submerged anyways. The pilot in question later became known as the Elderglow, bringer of life to this new land. The more the Anglows rapidly populated the underwater ditch, the more the native inhabitants were speculative of the new species, and with some even thinking the Anglows were there to replace them. The Anglows, of course, meant no harm, so their minds quickly went to work brainstorming what they could do to gain the trust of the sea dwellers. Then the idea of preforming light shows was brought on to the scene, a skill that would be passed down for many generations. When Anglows started to perform the dazzling displays of light, a friendship of Anglows and sea creatures formed that would last many centuries. But, the Anglows were up to something more than light shows: they were mainly trying to learn more about the surface dwellers without breaching contact. But going in the exact opposite direction of what was planned, the young Anglings caught wind of what was going on and would sneak out of the water to see for themselves. Of course Anglings, being rowdy and rambunctious as they were, they eventually got spotted by the Monsterlings of the Continent. Rumors began to spread, stories were told, and eager Monsterlings would try to catch a glimpse of the elusive Anglows, but there were a handful of beings that knew from the start who these Anglows were, and these were none other than the Colossals themselves. They knew the Anglows were there, they knew that they were coming, and they knew that the Anglows and Monsters would one day cross paths. It surprised the Anglow population even more when the ground started to shake and the land above them crumbled and collapsed. The only way they escaped was through an underwater passage into a deeper part of the Monstriana Trench, far away from any land that was not submerged. One day, many centuries in the future, an ocean current knocked a valuable item out of the hands of a specific bubble-blowing monster shaped like a rabbit into the domain of the Anglows.
The Cataclysm[]
The Dawn of Fire would eventually end, and the Colossals foresaw its approach. Two in particular, known as Lanysta and Ahymnsa, were discussing how to ready the Monsters for the imminent doom. Lanysta suggested training the individual musical ability of a Monster, and so decided to imbue its spirit into an arena-like Island the Monsters had built. Inspired by the actions of its fellow Colossal, Ahymnsa decided to make its own Island to ready the Monsters, but focused instead upon collaboration and unity rather than singular strength. It then made an accompanying prophecy about how Monsters being united and singing together would help to bring balance to the Monster World, and took upon itself a great Monster encased in amber to act as the Island's centerpiece. This tale of two Colossals would later be found carved into some pillars on The Colossingum, in text known as "Monstroglyphics".
Another Colossal who would make an effort in preserving the life found on the Continent was Dulcettéa. Regarded as the Queen Colossal, it was especially fond of the powerful Fire element. In effort to perserve Fire, Dulcettéa built a seed vault located in the Higher Plane, creating vessels manifesting the potential for all of the original Fire Monsters. These vessels were formed using amber, the hardened sap of the great Stablo Mjehurića. Along with the monsters, Dulcettéa started Project SEED in endeavor to conserve the unique fauna and flora of the Continent and Greatfruit Grove dimension, all of it safely incased within the amber (until the event where it would inevitability crack).
Then, The Cataclysm came. The Continent began to break into multiple pieces, with each Elemental Land becoming its own Island. The Fire Elementals, not having an Elemental Land to call their own, were led by a Kayna to climb into the Continent's volcano, before that same volcano sank to the bottom of the Living Ocean. Deep within the volcano, the Fire Elementals established a haven that would remain unknown by the outside world for centuries. The Anglows were also affected by the Cataclysm. The ground above them collapsed, causing the Anglow population to move into a deeper part of the Monstriana Trench, far away from any land. The Outer Islands also suffered from the cataclysm, since the previously ambitious Prism Gate eventually swallowed all four of them,[9] including the Prismatic Monsters who called them home, never to be seen again, except for only one. Luckily, an enigmatic entity from The Beyond known as the Stair Shaper would preserve the landmasses, it shaped the outer islands into its signature orbs. However, due to how time flows differently in The Beyond, the Monster World was already centuries past the events of the cataclysm. Instead of returning the orbs to the main Monster World, the Stair Shaper would send them to the Mirror Dimension to imbue with the Titans it would eventually meet.
The Colossal spirits decided to sacrifice themselves for their creations, and imbued their spirits into each of these Elemental Lands– as well as any other Lands they could find– trying to save what they could, using their life force to stop the chaos; they shaped and formed the Islands to both their likeness and their Elemental affinity, resulting in the current Natural Islands, among others. The Colossal Grennitch imbued itself into the Plant Lands; Frigil imbued the Cold Lands; Zeffree imbued the Air Lands; Hyddryd imbued the Water Lands; Sollum imbued the Earth Lands. Due to the Fire element not have a proper land on the Continent, Dulcettéa sent parts of its spirit to the haven within the volcano the Fire Elementals fled too, as well as inside of a small neighboring island, with the help of Rare Buzzinga, it was able to expand it's conscious to it's seed vault in the sky.[10] Zarroë went to the Pocket Dimension, imbuing itself to its laboratory and the surrounding land.
The Colossals were not the only ones who made an effort to help the Continent, as Galvana, the Celestial of Electricity, using the mineral Steptanium, built a backup power generator of sorts that would act as neurons for the Colossals, in an effort to help the Islands. These then became known as the Wubbox, and were put into vaults on each of the Continental Islands, as well as Ethereal Island. As the Continent came down, so would Starhenge soon do also, as it ran on energy generated by the Continent, although not yet, because it still had backup energy. But when that day would come, the Celestials would turn themselves into statues and restart their life cycle to hopefully save them from the collision of their lofty perch with the ground below.
The Great Pause[]
After the damage had been done, there was a period where nothing happened, everything was just so silent; like someone hit the pause button on the music player, if you will. This is known as The Great Pause, also called the Interlude.[citation needed] Nothing happened, and so much nothing happened, that the Great Pause is not comprehensible on a human scale of time. The separation between the Element of Fire and the other Natural Elements has caused the Element of Fire to drift slightly in breeding time and chances, and it had become its own Class. The Natural Monsters eventually forgot about the Fire Monsters entirely. Sometime after the Dawn of Fire, the Magical Elements would be made, with their Islands taking the places of the Outer Islands, as the Outer Islands are presumed to have disappeared into the Prism Gate. The only remaining trace of the Outer Islands after the Dawn of Fire era is the slippery leviathan that carried Party Island on its back, as it's still out there swimming in the Living Ocean to this day, though the same can't be said about the landmass it carried on its back.
Influences from The Beyond[]
During unknown periods after the cataclysm two enigmatic entities, the Dream Crafter and the Stair Shaper, started to build domains in the Monster World’s dimensions. These two alien creatures came from The Beyond, and both took inspiration from the Colossals and strived to experiment with creating life.[11]
Plucks of the Cradle[]
The Dream Crafter inhabited the Dreamspace, a dimension on the Monster World’s moon that exists between dreams. From the Dreamspace, the Dream Crafter formed dreamcatchers that served as portals to the dreams of different monsters. Later in time, a monster appeared that exists only in dreams, traveling from dream to dream, the Cataliszt. While popping around dreams, the Cataliszt slipped into the Dreamspace. Cataliszt was initially frightened by the Dream Crafter in its large, bulky form. After taking on a more friendly appearance, the Dream Crafter befriended Cataliszt, gifting a string from a dreamcatcher to create a cradle around Cataliszt’s legs. The cradle allowed Cataliszt to practice dreamcraft, a combination of summoning magic and teleportation via sleep. Together the Dream Crafter and Cataliszt used dreamcraft to form the mineral Hummatite to construct the pillars and two Lunapparatus that would become Mythical Island. However, Cataliszt became lonely atop the main pillar, the Dream Crafter, distraught by the sad sight, took down the second Lunapparatus to create a companion for Cataliszt.
Journeys of the Stair Shaper[]
Unlike the Dream Crafter, the Stair Shaper was constantly hitchhiking across galaxies searching for intelligent life to communicate with. Over its travels, the Stair Shaper recruited like-minded beings of titanic size to its cause. These beings the Stair Shaper met would become a group known as the Titans. Unlike the Colossals whose spirits inhabited the islands, the Titans are naturally large creatures that can sustain thriving ecosystems atop their heads. As the Stair Shaper journeyed across the galaxy, it left monuments behind, marking where it had visited.[12]
The Magical Titans was a group of four of the Titans the Stair Shaper recruited; Cruv'laapht the Psychic Titan, Faesodd the Faerie Titan; Necrull the Bone Titan; Phosphora the Light Titan, who was native to the Prism Dimension. Once the Stair Shaper learned the history of the Colossals, it dispatched these four Titans to integrate them into the Monster World, filling the gaps left by the disappearance of the Outer Islands. Later in time, these unions would lead to the creation of the (impure) Magical Monsters.[13]
Five more of the Titans the Stair Shaper met were native to the Monster World; Harvherd; Sweti; Gigacheep; a member of the Glubber species, simply known as the Glubber; another only known by the nickname Hahoo. These five Titans chose to live in proximity to the five Natural Islands, although they wouldn’t be discovered for many years. The Glubber was formerly the Glubpole that carried the land mass of Party Island during the Dawn of Fire. Since the cataclysm, the Glubpole developed fins, becoming the Glubblet. Finally maturing into the fully grown Glubber, one of the most beautiful sea creatures, living in a lagoon with its fellow Glubbers. The true name of Hahoo remained a mystery to the Monster World after a mischievous monster coined the Titan’s nickname. Throughout its temple, Hahoo engraved the history of the Monster World in its brickwork, containing every major event from the Dawn of Fire to the present. However, the language Hahoo wrote in, remains only decipherable by the Titan itself.
Similar to the Stair Shaper, the last Titan, Enchantler, was fond of the Colossals and their work. Enchantler aspired to transcend and become a Colossal, but when its ambitions proved impossible, it fled and found its way to the Pocket Dimension, settling in a large grove of alien trees, which became the location where Enchantler resides. From this grove, Enchantler found purpose, thus its antlers began to course with Monstromantic energies. Centuries later, Enchantler founded the Magical Sanctum, a home for the (pure) Magical Monsters.[14]
After the Stair Shaper finished its travels, it created the Nexus, an outpost in the Beyond located at the intersection of multiple worlds,[15] accessible through a large staircase. Centuries later, the (impure) Magical Monsters born of the unions between the Stair Shaper and the four Magical Titans. These monsters would eventually get the opportunity to travel to the Nexus and "meet their maker".[16]
Contemporary Era[]
The Doctor Is In[]
Sometime during the early 20th century was when the Monsters first come in contact with Humans. Dr. Wardin E. Spurrit, a mysterious scientist hailing from the human world, discovered the Monster World and the various known worlds of the Stablo Mjehurića. He was the first known human to make contact with the Monster world, using an invention to hear unknown radio frequencies from different dimensions, discovering the Monster World in the process, as well as the other dimensions that make up the multiverse. He created a device known as the "Separating Existence Widget", or "S.E.W.", able to open and close The Seam for easy travel between the Human and Monster world. However, his first trip to the monster world was also his last, as he lost the device halfway in The Rift, making his adventure to the Monster World a one-way trip. The device has been randomly opening and closing portals to the Human World ever since, mostly in Canada, where Big Blue Bubble Inc. headquarters is located. The Portal Indicating Teleporter Helmet (Or P.I.T.H. Helmet) allows monster handlers to pinpoint portal locations, and allow monsters to travel to the Human World. It is implied that Dr. Wardin might still be alive somewhere inside the Monster World, even decades later. Spurrit's introduction marks the beginning of the Contemporary Era.
Begins the Contemporary Era[]
The Contemporary Era takes place during the modern times and encompasses the first My Singing Monsters game. The Natural Islands, remnants of the Continent, are the homes of the Natural Monsters; these Islands being Plant Island, Cold Island, Air Island, Water Island, and Earth Island. Although the Fire Monsters have yet to reunite with the other Natural Monsters, the Fire Element is still manifested in the magical Wishing Torches.
Sometime during this era, Gold Island, which exists in the alternate dimension of the Higher Plane, is discovered. It is a paradise where only the most experienced of Monsters can go. Later, the Seasonal Shanty was built, which became the housing of the Seasonals. These Monsters come to the Natural Islands from an unknown place every year to celebrate the Seasonal Events of Spooktacle, the Festival of Yay, Season of Love, Eggs-Travaganza, and SummerSong.
While phasing out the old Mines in favor for Mini-Mines in May of 2013, the Monsters discover the Wubbox on Plant Island. Through shrinking technology, Monsters are able to enter the Wubbox and power it up. The Monsters that entered the Wubbox reported that the interior of the Wubbox is like a playground, which inspired the spin-off game My Singing Monsters Playground. Throughout 2013 and 2014, the Wubbox was discovered on the rest of the Natural Island and Ethereal Island.
Later in 2013, the single-element Ethereal Monsters leave the Pocket Dimension to travel to the Natural Islands. This also marks the first time that the Monsters of the main dimension have encountered the Ethereals and Ethereal Island.
After the Ethereals left the Pocket Dimension, but before Ethereal Island was discovered, the Shugabush was manifested on Plant Island. The Shugabush and the Shugafam (as well as later the Werdos) were a result in contact with the Human World. This also resulted in the creation of Shugabush Island along The Seam, which is the border between the Monster and Human worlds.
In August of 2014, the Paradise Castle was constructed by the multiverse's finest architects to house the growing populations of the Islands. Its design was based off of Gold Island's infinitely-bedded Crystal Castle. A few days later, the parallel universe of the PS Vita version was revealed, along with the exclusive Mythical Monsters Yawstrich and G'joob and 5 Mythical Decorations. In the next month, a new variant of Monsters known as 'Rares' were discovered. These would continue to be discovered to the modern day.
In April of 2015, the Glowbes and the Optiglowbe enter the Monster World from the Prism Dimension. The Optiglowbe remained hidden from the Monsters until September of 2022. It has been suggested that other Glowbe subspecies could also be hidden in the Monster World.
In August of 2015, a brand new Island along the Seam is found; Tribal Island. On the Island is a mysterious Monster trapped in Amber. If the Monsters sing together enough, their voices can reach the resonant frequency of amber, shattering a large fossil atop the central tree stump, and unveiling the mysterious Monster encased inside. This mysterious monster is Kayna, the single elemental of the long lost element of Fire. This Kayna still remembers life back from the Dawn of Fire, and tells everyone about it, even taking them underground to view ancient cave paintings of the long-lost Fire Monsters, and giving them a map of the ancient Continent, although the amber has taken quite the toll on its wellbeing, so its memory is still a bit… not there.
Sometime during 2015, Wubboxes hurtled themselves through the time and space into the Human World during the 1980s. They modify themselves with various equipment they find, like keytars and vocoders, which transforms them into Rare Wubboxes. Then they travel back to the Human World during 2015. Here they travel inside of Bill's computer and form their song after hearing various error messages.
In 2016, Wubbox was inspired by the same creativity that inspired Galvana to create it, it created the realm of Wublin Island, as well as the Wublins. The Wublins were created out of some sort of stone and brought to life via The Spark of Life. The rest of the Monster World discovered Wublin Island in March of 2016 through Blabbit's Scroll, which revealed a map of the island. Wubbox continued to create new Wublins until July 2017, until Wubbox joined the island's song itself in August. Before the Wubbox joined Wublin Island, the creator of the Wublins was a mystery.
In July 2016, Dipsters are uncovered on the Natural Islands. These Monsters continue to be found on other Islands until 2024.
In August 2016, the Mirror Islands were discovered. These islands are alternate versions of the Natural Islands that take place in a different timeline or reality. Each of the Mirror Islands have various ethereal manifestations that reveal a closer harmony between the natural and ethereal elements. Each island also has a structure from the Dawn of Fire era, revealing that in this reality, events near the end of Dawn of Fire may have been different.
In November 2016, Composer Island was discovered along the Seam. This island features the Composer Castle, which acts as a powerful transmitter for the creative energies flowing in from the Human World.
In March 2017, the first two Werdos, Parlsona and Tawkerr are found on Plant Island. The Werdos continue to be found on the other Natural Islands until July 2020.
Rediscovery of Fire[]
Starhenge crash-lands on an unknown Colossal in the near-middle of nowhere in June of 2018. Here, ‘statues’ of the Celestials can be found. These statues are actually the Celestials in powered-down forms that they became to protect themselves when their hovering home eventually crashed into the surface of the Monster World. They can be awoken with the power of The Spark of Life by zapping Eggs from the Natural Islands, albeit they are children now, and remember nothing.
During Anniversary Month, a new variant of Monster, Epics, had been discovered by Dr. Wardin E. Spurrit. Epics are specifically noted for being evolved forms of the common Monster to suit their environments, such as Epic Mammott who shovels snow, whereas Common Mammott does NOT shovel snow.
In November, the volcano from the Continent resurfaces. The Kayna of Tribal Island, beckoned by the call of Relics from the very Living Core itself, leads a band of Monsters down through a cave system to look at cave paintings where they learn of the Natural Islands originally being one, how something split the Continent, how the Colossals imbued themselves upon the Islands, and how the Fire Monsters ventured into the Living Core's volcano for safety. They continue onward through the caves and find Fire Haven, an Island where the Element of Fire and its Monsters had been hiding away ever since the end of the Dawn of Fire, waiting and hopeful that they would one day see their Natural friends. Now they were ready to start anew and spread out among the farthest undiscovered reaches of the Monster World.
In June of 2019, the Fire Monsters, now being a reestablished Class in the Monster World, naturally wished to expand and have an Island on the surface like everyone else. They tried searching for the Outer Islands and found nothing, so they had a Glowl scout out over the Living Ocean for the remnants of the Outer Islands, to no avail. The Monsters then decided that if they couldn't find a suitable home, they'd create one! Upon a small sandbar, the Fire Monsters, along with some Natural friends, made an Island for themselves out of blown glass, and called it Fire Oasis. All Fire Monsters now had 2 Islands of choice to live upon, and now live evenly among them (even though not displayed in-game). Thanks to the great power of ingenuity and unity shared among all Monsters, they were able to construct this Colossal-like blown-glass structure within a week!
In August, new “Island Skins” are found on new beasts known as Titans. Titans are Islands much like the Colossals. But unlike the Colossals, which are spirits inhabiting islands, Titans are naturally large creatures, so large in fact that they can support full ecosystems atop their heads. Also unlike Colossals, most Titans have a known name and are also awake. Titans like to take other island places or live around the islands pretending to be them, and each Natural Island has a Titan counterpart: Plant Island has the Harvherd of the Vegetable Medley, a titan made out of all kinds of fruits and vegetables; Cold Island has the Sweti of the Sweti Settlement, a beast that houses an entire settlement on top of its dandruff-filled head; Air Island has the Gigacheep of the Gigacheep Nest, an ancient airborne behemoth that likes to nest it's Gigacheep and Monsters on top of it's island-sized nest; Water Island has the Glubber of the Glubber Lagoon, an underwater leviathan that has a three stage life cycle: the Glubpole, where they look like a black dot swimming atop the surface of the Living Ocean; the Glubblet, where they develop fins and venture into deeper waters; and finally, the Glubber, where they are their full-grown selves, the most beautiful sea creatures ever, living in lagoons with other Glubbers, and bestowing the gift of glub to those whom it finds worthy. This Glubber, in particular is the same leviathan that held up Party Island all the way back in the Dawn of Fire; And finally, Earth Island has the Temple of Hahoo, nicknamed Hahoo, a sentient temple who engrave records of Monster history into the brickwork of its very body; every major event in the Monster World, stretching back to the Dawn of Fire and beyond. Though tragically, these engravings are in a language known only to the temple's Titan itself.
During Anniversary Month, somewhere in the Monster World, amongst the shadows and the stories, the Mythical Monsters, G'joob and Yawstrich, make their appearances in the main universe, and bring some of their favorite Decorations with them. At the same time, some adventuring Fire Monsters want to go further and further up out of their caves that go stellar when they find the new Fire Frontier. Only having 3 Elements, they send out requests for reinforcements. But which Element was to come? Cold, Earth, or Air?
The Magical Saga[]
Turns out, it was the Element of Psychic winning this competition all along! The new Magical Class has come out of hiding, and along with their grand reveal, the Island's third eye opens! The Psychic Monsters tell us that this Island is in the spot of an Island from Ancient times that suddenly blipped out of existence. They also inform us that the Titan of this Island is named Cruv’laapht. Dipsters somehow tunnel through the waxy Fire Haven and the glass-blown Fire Oasis, bringing their dirt with them when they pop out on the other side.
A new Seasonal comes crashing on Fire Haven in November. This Monster's name is Gobbleygourd, and it celebrates Feast-Ember. It, as well as being on Fire Haven, is also on Fire Oasis, as it claims to be a Seasonal for all Fire Islands. Previously, Gobbleygourds had spent all their time on the not yet discovered Seasonal Shanty, and saw Fire Haven (and Fire Oasis) as the perfect opportunity to finally create a Seasonal Event of their own.
During the Festival of Yay, high above the clouds, the next Magical Island, Faerie Island, home to the Faerie Elementals, is discovered by a wandering Babayag Tower with a Kayna sleeping on it. This new Island, high-up and surrounded by mist and heavy fog, rests on the Faesodd Titan. During Eggs-Travaganza, deep underground, deeper than ever thought possible, the next Magical Island, Bone Island, is discovered by a Stogg who chases a bone down a hole on Fire Haven. This new Island is covered in various-sized bones, crystals, and fossils of fauna and flora alike, and is on a Titan named Necrull. Could this have been where Cave Island was?
With all the new Rares and Epics being discovered, the Natural Islands are facing a housing crisis! Apparently you can't always trust the multiverse's finest architects. In June, after holding an interview with several Monsters to see if anyone has any bright ideas on how to fix the problems, with several… er, laughable tries… the Tribal Island Kayna presents the idea of using the Crystals that were once in abundance all over the Continent back during the Dawn of Fire to construct new castles. These castles are known as Crystalline Castles, and vary from Island-to-Island, depending on the crystal used. This would mean Vegidian Castles for Plant Island, Frozium Castles for Cold Island, Skylite Castle for Air Island, Aquanine Castles for Water Island, and Stonyx Castles for Earth Island. Each of these new Crystalline Castles has 3 tiers in its upgrades: the first is the raw Crystal, the second is the polished Crystal, and the third is the carved Crystal, where the Crystals are set in jewelry; the castles have specified podiums for each tier of crystal to sit upon.
During Summersong, the ancient Colossingum rises up out of the Ocean Depths from an earthquake. The Monsters make a boat to sail out to it, which takes about a month to do. On this Island, Monsters can battle each other to level up their individual singing abilities; but no violence, it's all just a friendly song battle to put the opponent to sleep. They can also play dress-up! Their Costumes can give them new moves to use in battle.
The final Magical Island, Light Island, is discovered when a Spunge blows some Anniversary Month candles too hard, sending a huge gust of wind towards Fire Haven, blowing out all the candles that have been lit for who-knows-how-long, leaving the Fire Monsters in total darkness. One by one, each new Light Elemental comes out from the darkness. This Island– on a Titan named Phosphora– is much like Party Island, as it is nomadic completely and moves constantly, having no stable location. It is also said that this Island's Titan is extra-dimensional and comes from the Prism Gate like the Glowbes before it. One of the most wondrous natural phenomena can be found on, or rather, above light Island, as the Aurora Monstralis constantly follows Light Island around wherever it goes. Or does Light Island follow the Aurora Monstralis? One can never be too sure. Natural-Island Seasonals can now travel to the Colossingum. When Schmoochle goes over to the Colossingum during its seasonal holiday, it decides to bring costumes to the rest of the Monster World.
A new Island has been found in the Pocket Dimension in April of 2021, an Island for Magicals. The Magical Single-Elementals get remote-teleported to this new location by some Ghazts in the Ethereal Meadow called the Magical Sanctum. Here, the Magical Elements can live in harmony. Slowly, each pure Magical hybrid reveals itself, filling up the Island's population and song. Then finally, Enchantling, Quad-Elemental and boss of the Magical Class, appears. In its appearance, the horns of their Island, a Titan named Enchantler, (a name no one was sure of as it was lost to history, but was rediscovered), began to glow, and then suddenly, its eyes opened. It is rumored that these two beings share a link, possibly that the Enchantling is the younger, diminutive form of the great Titan Enchantler! Or that Enchantling is just feeding off of Enchantler's monstromantic energies, you never know…
If a Monster potentially turning into a Titan seems strange, then a Titan turning into a Colossal would seem even stranger! Enchantler– the Titan of Magical Sanctum– wanted to ascend and become a Colossal, but upon realizing how impossible (or near-impossible) this task was, it fled to the Pocket Dimension. Wanting its own family, it decided to take in the Magical Monsters and give them a home. Being in the Pocket Dimension can take quite the toll on a Monster, though, so it seems to have developed strange red growths out of its skin as a side-effect of exposure.
Post-Magical[]
Let Them Meet Cake[]
During Anniversary Month, the mysterious Seasonals have revealed to us their forever abode where they stay for the rest of the year, when not celebrating their event or when not at their 6-month out-of-season event. Situated in a loft/attic of a wooden Monster-made Island adorned with a lighthouse, the Seasonal Shanty has revealed itself! There are also several new Seasonal friends to be found, such as the cake-like Jam Boree who celebrates Gold Island's Anniversary Month event, but all will be revealed in due time. This Island, instead of being a Colossal or a Titan, is actually just a wooden structure with no sentience whatsoever. Newer Seasonals, instead of immediately celebrating their event, will go to the Shanty, wait a year planning, then go out to their event. More news is that the Natural Islands' Seasonal Monsters also have the title of Core Seasonal Monsters. Gobbleygourd is not a Core Seasonal Monster.
The Rare Wubbox decides to go on an adventure and finds itself on Ethereal Island. Maybe Superethereal is a legitimate Class now? Finally, after so long, the Epic Wubbox is revealed. Epic Wubbox appear after select Wubbox are left to ‘ripen’ in the deeper vaults, developing a link with the Colossal and the Island's Element in both its look and sound, being different from Island to Island. A new Seasonal Monster known as Clavavera reveals itself in late October, and had spent the past year planning its event of the Beat Hereafter. It is believed that Clavavera can commune with monster spirits passed on to the Beat Hereafter (where it gets the name of its event from), and it keeps the exact nature of this place to itself. Similarly, the time-wielding Carillong – a Seasonal Monster celebrating the Crescendo Moon – reveals itself upon the Seasonal Shanty in January of 2022.
Harvesting Zap[]
During the Season of Love, way up on the Higher Plane, it appears that Gold Island is not alone, as the new Amber Island is spotted. This Island hosts the reunified halves of the Fire Colossal, and acts as a “Seed Vault” of sorts for the original Fire Monsters of Dawn of Fire (sorry, no Fire Magicals), holding Vessels which can be turned into living eggs with the Spark of Life, similar to waking Wublins and reviving Celestials (The proper term for using the Spark of Life on Vessels, like how Wublins are woken up, is ‘revitalized’). Each Vessel contains the essence of the monster depicted upon them; Their essence is basically every unique thing that makes that specific monster that monster, if that's understandable. These vessels can expire, though, so there is a limited amount of time to revitalize them, and not every vessel is out of storage at the same time. Everything about this Island ties it back to the foundational elements of the Monster World itself, from the Green Trees of The Continent to the amber of the Stablo Mjehurića making up the island itself, and even the Castle of the Island (which also has crystallized musical essence in it in Relic form). Also on this Island, several species of Fire Monster make their in-game appearance. (lorewise, they live on Haven and Oasis already).
In other fiery news, the Fire Islands, like the Natural Islands before them, are in need of better Castle upgrades! The problem is, though, while the Natural Crystals were available in abundance, there were only a few veins left of Pyrozite, and the monsters had just barely scrounge up enough to make Castles for both Haven and Oasis.
The coin-sniffing Seasonal Monster Ffidyll reveals itself upon the Shanty in March, celebrating the Cloverspell event, followed closely by the critter-loving, fauna-covered Viveine in April, who celebrates the Echoes of Eco event. In May, the eccentric Spurrit, who celebrates the Perplexplore event, reveals itself after finding a backup power generator when a storm knocked out the Shanty's power. This new Seasonal resident is believed to be the monsterfied version of Dr. Warden E. Spurrit after spending too much time in the Monster World. The storm turns out to be the result of the arrival of the Monculus, who arrives on the Shanty a week later. The Monculus was created by the Colossals with a special process called Life-Formula in the Pocket Dimension, way back when the Monster World was new and will be celebrating the Life-Formula event. In late June, the colorful (not colourful, that's a lie.) Whiz-bang, who celebrates the SkyPainting event, revealed itself on the Shanty. It is believed that Whiz-bang was originally an ordinary Glowbe that wanted to find a voice of its own, eventually evolving into a colorful, cloud-like creature who can quite literally explode into a flurry of fireworks (Don't panic, it is able to reconstruct itself).
The Magical Islands need more living space and choose to go crystalline, finding and using leftover crystals from the Outer Islands.
During SummerSong, the Crucible breaks out of its amber encasement on Amber Island. The Crucible is a structure that is used to literally unlock the evolutionary potential of a monster using keys and relics. Once a monster enters the Crucible, the relics get melted down to heat the inside of the structure like a sauna. The more relics there are, the hotter it gets, and once there is sufficient heat, the elements interact with the alchemical quality of keys, and the crucible triggers the transformation from a common to a Rare or Epic. The process is not guaranteed to work 100% of the time and can fail. Upon a failed attempt, one of the flags representing an element will unfurl, and will increase the chance of a successful evolve if the flag and monster share the same element.
Later on, as the residents of Seasonal Shanty were returning from a massive party at Clubbox during SummerSong, they stumbled upon some scattered books, some of them bearing teeth along the edges. While trying to figure out how to open the books (with Spurrit finding a particular book already open), the knowledgeable Boo'qwurm appears, asking everyone to return the books to them. The books that the monsters found were also revealed to be Bib'leos, aggressive creatures that only become docile when the Boo'qwurm recites a passage or answers correctly on a challenging word puzzle, which they can then drum on with their hands to absorb their knowledge.
Living the Dream[]
Anniversary Month is inbound, and a new Mythical, the Strombonin, along with its symbiotic partner the Strombone, was discovered on the ice floes that surround Cold Island. Shortly after, the Mythicals have started seeing strange visions in their dreams. More Rare Triple Element Fire Monsters are appearing on Amber Island, and Rare Jam Boree is discovered after Jam Boree lessens its rule about eating cake in front of it. After a while, the Mythical Monsters teleport away from their homes and into a mysterious new island. It appears just like the strange visions they saw in their dreams. This new island is Mythical Island, home of the Mythical Monsters. In this new island, they meet the Cataliszt, the personification of the power of dreams itself. The Catalizst can playfully strum and swat at the Cradle, a tangle of threads strung between its stocky limbs, to accumulate enough dream energy to cough up a hairball spore, which will breed with an egg from a Mythical to produce a Dreamythical, Monsters that were plucked right from the Mythicals' imagination. This is done with a special branch of summoning magic called dreamcraft, a special branch of summoning magic that permits somnolent teleportation AND makes manifest the wildest and wackiest figments of the imagination. Each Mythical has a Dreamythical: G'joob has the Bleatnik; Strombonin has the Cranchee (which actually came from the Strombone's imagination); and Yawstrich has the Sporerow.
Heartbeat of Forever[]
Meanwhile, as the Seasonals on Seasonal Shanty were cleaning up the leftover decorations from Anniversary Month after Punkleton made its annual departure for Plant Island, the Clavavera starts to notice that the feathers on its headgear are beginning to wilt. This is their signal to tell them it is time to begin their very first year of the Beat Hereafter. They depart to a secret room where it puts on a much more vibrant headgear and pulls a lever which reveals a trap door beneath its feet, sending it to the ideal location for its event: Bone Island, where its skeletal relative, the Clackula, resides. And that's not the only arrival to the underground cavern; the Dipsters had made their way down there too, ready to join in on the island's chorus.
Daydream Believer[]
During Feast-Ember, new specimens of the Wubbox have been discovered on Fire Haven as the Fire Monsters living there were trying to help Gobbleygourd achieve its dream to fly. Curiously, the Powerup requirements for these specimens is a mixture of Monsters from multiple classes (a first for the Wubbox). Could this mean that its creator knew that the Natural and Fire Monsters would rejoin once again after the end of the Dawn of Fire? Or that the Wubbox had already existed and stowed away into the living core along with all the other Fire Monsters after the end of the Dawn of Fire? We may never really know for sure. After Gobbleygourd had a rough landing from being launched high in the sky by the Wubbox on Fire Haven, a new Mythical called the Cherubble was discovered on Fire Oasis. The Cherubble originates from the vibrant and bustling coral reefs of the Monster World and is almost constantly asleep, lulled to rest by its blubberfly accomplices playing on its elongated cerata. It was summoned to the surface by the Fire Oasis song, and has designated itself the official ambassador of the living ocean, cementing the glass-blown island as a welcome and permanent fixture among the waves. The Cherubble can teleport to Mythical Island via dreamcraft to breed its Dreamythical, the shLep.
Quite the Conundrum[]
During the Festival of Yay, a new structure called the Coloss-Eye was discovered on Plant Island. It can be obtained by completing the Colossal Conundra, which requires all 32 pieces. Once the puzzle has been completed, the Coloss-Eye will then be used to wake up the Plant Island Colossal.
The Chimekeeper's Secret[]
Meanwhile, at the Seasonal Shanty, the Carillong sits up in the structure's lighthouse reminiscing about the other Seasonals arriving on the other islands for their events, when it notices that its Chimekeeper had started glowing. Staring up at the moon, which was also glowing, Carillong grabs its instrument and plays a brief tune, causing it to shoot a beam towards the moon, leaving a mark that resembles a crescendo symbol. The symbol suddenly pulls Carillong and its Chimekeeper into it, sending them through an inter-dimensional wormhole that eventually leads into the Pocket Dimension, where they land on Magical Sanctum. The Carillong's landing was powerful enough to release a powerful magical wave covering the entire island with themed decor and causing envelopes to sprinkle down towards the monsters, releasing an endless showering of gifts, such as Shards and Treats, Crystalline Castle upgrades for Magical Sanctum (and Ethereal Island, too!) made from the dimension's native Krystillium, using Pyrozite from the Fire Islands as a template, and the Rare Xyster, who, like its common counterpart, is able to collect the thoughts of nearby beings...even the Enchantler itself, which it does by tunneling through the Titan's pores! These events all herald the beginning of the Crescendo Moon!
Surely You Jest[]
After paying a visit to Schmoochle on Air Island during the Season of Love, the Hoola was making its way back to Seasonal Shanty, when it notices that its map was tampered with, telling them to follow the new route to an undisclosed location close to the Seam. When the Hoola gets there, they discover they have landed on the Temple of Hahoo, before being given a sudden scare by the Hyehehe, a wacky, jester-like trickster who is the newest member of the Mythicals. It was ascertained as well that Hoola was Hyehehe's disciple this whole time, using Hyehehe's tricks and pranks as inspiration for their own. After brief reintroductions, Hyehehe gives Hoola a definitely-not-suspicious-at-all gift box. As Hyehehe runs off to hide, Hoola opens the box, which causes Mythical-shaped confetti to explode all over the temple and Hoola, another genius trick concocted by Hyehehe. Hyehehe then proceeds to use its reality-bending abilities (presumably gained from the power of the S.E.W.) to mess with Monster-Handler Matt's game by altering their own description to make fun of him (namely his balding head). This is enough to anger Monster-Handler Matt as he shortly retaliates, trying to crush the trickster under his finger. Hyehehe manages to escape by latching on to the leg of a passing Epic Humbug, before falling through the portal that led the other Mythicals to the dream space, shortly arriving on Mythical Island, where they come across Cherubble, who they are close friends with. The Hyehehe can also breed with one of Cataliszt's hairball spores to make its Dreamythical, the Wheezel, a living Jack-in-the-box! Or is it a Mon-in-the-box…?
Ffidyll's Fantastical Foray[]
Sometime later, the vernal equinox has come and the Ffidyll leaves its post at the Seasonal Shanty via rainbow to meet up with some old friends. After arriving at a bridge leading to a large forest, the Ffidyll's path is blocked by the Bridg-It, who is down in the dumps because they have misplaced their lucky coin and was unable to find it. Using its ability to sniff out coins, Ffidyll manages to find the lucky coin stuck in their locks of hair, returning it to the now-happy monster while giving them a nice braid, allowing them to move forward into the forest. After a long while of exploring the forest trying to find the right path, the Ffidyll, realising it is lost, uses some magic beans to grow a beanstalk that reaches to the clouds, encountering a ginormous Pladdie, who directs them to their destination, which is none other than a newly-decorated Faerie Island. As Ffidyll glides down towards the island using its clover headpiece as a glider, they spot an egg falling down from Amber Island in the Higher Plane towards the monsters on the island. With its quick-thinking, the Ffidyll manages to catch the egg with its feet before it hits the ground, and the egg thanks the lucky monster before it disappears from the lower plane back up to Amber Island, where the egg will hatch to reveal the newly-rediscovered Tuskski, the Cold Top Boss. Meanwhile back on Faerie Island, the newly-proclaimed folk hero Ffidyll was welcomed into the chorus by the residential monsters and the Dipsters, who have also arrived on the island, as they celebrate the beginning of the Cloverspell event. Meanwhile on Cold Island, a new Coloss-Eye was discovered! Isn't this great its time for a new event to happen?
A Trench in the Works[]
During Eggs-Travaganza, while the Blabbits were hosting an egg hunt, a strong current appeared and pushed the trophy, causing it to fall somewhere in the deep Monstriana Trench. Blabbit gets a flashlight and creates a bubble to journey down into the Monstriana Trench and find the trophy. Eventually, Blabbit reaches the deep trenches and not only finds the trophy, but also rediscovers the Water Island Mythical, the Anglow. After Anglow gives the trophy back to Blabbit, Anglow also leads Blabbit to the crack where the current started from. Blabbit creates another bubble and enters the crack, which leads Blabbit to one of the vents of Wublin Island. Blabbit sees dark clouds containing the Wublins, and electricity strikes said clouds. This transforms those Wublins into the newly discovered Rare Wublins. Meanwhile back at the deep trenches of the Living Ocean, Anglow takes the trophy back to Water Island and all of the monsters welcome it. A few seconds later, Anglow looks up in the sky and sees the Mythical Element symbol, which leads to Anglow being teleported to Mythical Island. While Cherubble and Hyehehe were playing cards on Mythical Island, Anglow arrives on Mythical Island and is welcomed here. The Anglow can breed with Cataliszt's haiball spores to make its Dreamythical, the Pinghound. Back on the home planet of Anglows, Pinghounds were domesticated pets, and both creatures were reunited through the power of dreamcraft.
Great Critter Migration Vacation[]
Later, at the dawn of the morning sun, Viveine watches the sunrise from the roof of Seasonal Shanty as the other Seasonals are fast asleep. As Vivine's sun gazing, though, they notice a large flock consisting of the various critters of the Monster World heading towards them. As they fly past, Viveine learns it is now time to begin the Great Critter Migration Vacation and headstart the Echoes of Eco, flying through the sky up to the Higher Plane with the help of its fellow critters and Wingalings, eventually arriving at their ideal vacation spot, Amber Island, which had been redecorated by its residents in preparation for Viveine's arrival. As they were about to land, however, a large gust of wind, emitted by a Spunge living not far from them on Gold Island, following a direction from Monster-Handler Tyson in the Human World, blows Viveine away, left flying across the entire Monster World before landing on an unexpected last stop: Shugabush Island! As they awaken, they are greeted by Shugabush and the rest of the Shugafam, and despite not ending up where they intended to, settled in regardless, with some of its fellow critters accompanying other Natural Monsters on the island. Back on Amber Island, the saddened Fire Monsters come face-to-face with the final Quint monster, and indeed the final Common resident to arrive on Amber Island, the dual-minded Gnarls, who reveals that they were able to find a Vessel unique to Viveine, allowing them to awaken the floral monster and host their welcome party after all.
The Search for Squeed[]
Around the middle of the Crystalline Crop, Spurrit finds a glowing Squeed Statue while cleaning Seasonal Shanty. They gets a vision of a Mini-Mine, with the Directions to Nowhere nearby. The eye on the sign reminds them of the Squeed's eye... Or their eye. It then travels on a boat Hoola made to find answers, named the Spurrit of Adventure II. On their excursion, Spurrit observes the stars, researches microscopic Critters, and most importantly, tries to find answers about the glowing Squeed Statue. Spurrit figures out that Fire Oasis is the place with answers, and brings its equipment with it. Spurrit then interrogates a Kayna about the Squeed, and the Fire Monster points to the Mine Spurrit saw earlier. Spurrit goes in the Mini-Mine, jumping on to a minecart that instantly starts moving. The tracks start to wind as the minecart speeds up, and the tracks cut off to a dangerous fall. Spurrit, who is terrified by this, looks for an escape method. They spot a small cliff, and take a leap of faith to save themselves. After a successful jump, Spurrit finds a platform to place the Squeed on, and it sinks into it. Spurrit watches in suspense wondering what will pop out, and its... Gobbleygourd, not Squeed? Whatever it was doing in there, Spurrit accidentally steps on a Pressure Plate, which ends up springing Gobbleygourd far in the air! What seems to be another one of the Seasonal's many landings on the surface of Fire Haven, turns out to be a chance for a certain Rare Supernatural to save it. The said Rare is the Rare Wubbox, making its debut on Fire Haven. Spurrit's adventure in the Mini-Mine ends, with the monster exiting it. While the true meaning of the Squeed was not found, the Epic Sneyser and its acidic mucus were!
Ghazt in the Shell[]
Over on Ethereal Island, Ghazt, Jeeode, and Humbug were playing together, when suddenly, Ghazt finds something glowing inside of a cave. When they continue to get closer to it, it was Monculus appearing at the end. Once they found it, the Monculus showed the Ethereals where the Life-Formula event would take place. Little did they know that it was on Ethereal Island! Afterwards, a large rock was removed, making way for a mysterious portal, and that portal will lead the Ethereals to The Colossingum! After they said goodbye, the other monsters on Ethereal Island greeted Monculus, who was surprised about the apperance of Epic Whisp. Meanwhile on Wublin Island, an inactive Monculus appeared that needed to be zapped back to life.
Finding your Voice[]
Let us now transition to Light Island, where the Monsters were happily viewing some fireworks outside. Meanwhile, there was a yellow Glowbe hiding from everyone else. Then, from the distance, the Prism Gate appeared. As the Glowbe went in, it suddenly transformed into the Whiz-bang, seasonal of SkyPainting! It afterwards greeted the monsters of Light Island, and showed off its special power. There were colorful lights to be seen everywhere across the island, and Rare Fluoress and the Dipsters even made an appearance! What an amazing discovery that was!
Story in the Stars[]
During SummerSong, the Young Celestials are dancing at Club Box, and when Glaishur dabs, the crowd gasps. Boo'qwurm holds their cane out to take away the Glaishur, and the Young Celestials leave the Club. When they go to Celestial Island with Boo'qwurm who has the Skyship, Scaratar looks up at the Poison's Mark Constellation and Ascends into an adult. The Celestials noticed that, and so they rebuild the Observatory, and then it collapses. Young Loodvigg looks at the stars using the Observatory to the Shadowed Glare Constellation, where it sees a vague image of the Adult Loodvigg. And over on Earth Island, Epic Noggin is sleeping, and then it wakes up to a huge rumbling made by the colossal, which was awakened.
A Real Page-Turner[]
As Young Loodvigg looks in the Observatory once more, it sees Boo'qwurm in the Skyship, flying off to Psychic Island, which has been decorated just for them! As Boo'qwurm starts reading under the light of a Meldablend, a page from its book falls out! Luckily, a Dipster is able to give the piece of paper back to Boo'qwurm! It keeps reading on about Rare Bisonorus and Rare Creepuscule, and even adds a part to the song, along with the Dipsters! Such a MindBoggling adventure!
As Good As Gold[]
Buzz buzz! Another anniversary month appears and we have a new Mythical called Buzzinga, the Fire Haven Mythical that is part of a family with 2 other monsters. Who's getting on our nerves now? It's Knurv! The Dreamythical of Buzzinga! Meanwhile, Jam Boree and Rare Jam Boree finally get their chances to go to Gold Island, but wait a minute, something epic appeared! It's Epic Jam Boree! It's more epic and even has macaroni! But wait, there's more! Epic Wubbox finally arrives at Gold Island and it goes to different phases. What about the Colossals? Since the Earth Island Colossal has awoken, they now need a name, something that could be recognized… We wonder what their names are… But we'll find out soon!
It's All in Your Head[]
One day, at the Colossingum, an orb hits a Ghazt's head, suddenly reminding it of the time it went to the Colossingum with the other Single-Element Ethereals. Then, the Double-Element Ethereals come through a portal and land on the Colossingum, along with some new Costumes! The Ethereals go to the arena which monsters music-battle in, and Kazilleon and Dragong realize that it's in a Colossal's head! Now as we move over to Ethereal Island, where the Ethereals are having a costume party, we take a look inside the Colossal's head. Tiny creatures, known as Meebs, are seen taking energy from the Mirror Islands through the Attunement Structure…. Then three of them fly into the Synthesizer, which combines the Elements. It makes an egg, which hatches into the Triple-Element Ethereal, Meebkin. More new Ethereal specimens are seen across this new Island, and the Ethereal Workshop is revealed!
Aspiring Fires[]
All hail King Gobbleygourd! A new Feast-Ember has arrived. In the caves of the Living Core, the Fire Quads are celebrating Feast-Ember until a construction vehicle being driven by Rare Spurrit drills through a wall, knocking it down. Rare Candelavra sneaks up on Rare Spurrit, which is in possession of the Torus Map, and leads the Fire Quads and Quints to the Magical Islands, where they once resided before the Magicals themselves came around. Soon after, a frustrated Kayna forces Rare Spurrit to glue back the cave wall.
Cloverspell 2024[]
Monster-Handler Tyson was catching up with the Thumpies in the Thumpieverse and complimenting their appearance. However, it was time for him to return to the Monster World to visit Faerie Island, but just as he was about to leave, he saw an undiscovered Bonkers subspecies! Tyson offers it to come with him to drop it off on Psychic Island, and it happily accepted it. Tyson also mentions that Faerie Island has a lot of mushrooms for the Thumpies to jump on, so he also invites them to come along too. ChoMph and YucKLeS left the Thumpieverse, and so did Rare Bonkers, in which it went to Psychic Island. Suddenly, more Thumpies left the Thumpieverse and followed ChoMph and YucKLeS into an unknown portal! Monster-Handler Tyson then remembers that the Thumpies are not native to Faerie Island. He forgets about them for now, and is sure he will see them around. He then returns to the Monster World, only to find that this is not Faerie Island, because he doesn't recognize any of the trees here. Tyson then thinks that he is lost. Thankfully, the Tou'a-day came by, in much of Tyson's luck. Tyson then tells it that he doesn't recognize the forest at all. The Tou'a-day advises him to go left to where Faerie Island is. As soon as it and Tyson were leaving the unknown forest, Tyson fell off a cliff without even looking. To their surprise, they had made it to Faerie Island, just in time for Cloverspell! After glancing at Faerie Island, Tyson wonders where did that new forest come from? Suddenly, the forest was Rare Tuskski all along!
Stairway to Heaven[]
Unknown flying orbs were floating across the Magical Islands, causing the attention of the Magical Monsters. The orbs crashed, some Magical Monsters picked them up, and the next they knew, the orbs transported them into a whole new place. Several other Magical Monsters followed after, with most of them meeting new ones for the first time. They then see a stairway that is being created, and all decided to walk in multiple directions. HippityHop then saw a glowing portal to another unknown place, and then, something known as the Stair Shaper appeared, with one eye awakening. The portal then gathered all of the Magical Monsters into it, and it took them all into the hands of the Stair Shaper. The next thing the Magical Monsters knew, they were all now on the newly discovered Magical Nexus!
It's a Donut World After All[]
Later, before the second annual Perplexplore on Fire Oasis, the Common and Rare Spurrits were have a conversation with Gobbleygourd regarding what they saw of the Monster World a year prior after they were launched up into space. The Gobbleygourd stated that they thought the shape of their world looked similar to a Torus (a donut, in other terms)! With that information, the Spurrits gather up their supplies and set sail across the Living Ocean on the Spurrit of Adventure II, with the other residing monsters bidding them farewell on their adventure. While navigating through a dense, foggy part of the ocean, the Spurrits are alarmed by an oncoming ship! Worried that they might collide, the Spurrits abandon ship and jump into the ocean, being promptly greeted with a curious duo of Epic Phanglers! Fortunately, the mysterious figure pulls them out of the water and onto their ship, where it is revealed that the mysterious figure is none other than the incredibly muscular Epic Spurrit! After being quickly acquainted with their epic form, the Common and Rare Spurrit tell the trio's super-ego of their mission to explore the Torus-shaped Monster World and map off each location they visit. The Epic Spurrit wastes no time in agreeing to assist them, and together they sail off to their next hotspot on the Epic's own ship, The Spurseus! After a lengthy voyage, mapping off every known island in the Monster World, Pocket Dimension, Higher Plane and Beyond, the Spurrits head back to Fire Oasis, overjoyed from their completed mission. However, much to the Spurrits' surprise, a soaked Spurrit climbs onto Fire Oasis, alarming everyone. The drenched Spurrit, claiming that they were accidentally left behind in the Living Ocean, wastes no time in accusing the "Spurrit" that was traveling with the variants as an imposter! With suspicions rising, this "Spurrit" loses its composure and vomits out heaps of blue feathers, revealing themselves to be… MIMIC?! What a wonderful rediscovery! However, this is not the only big surprise, as some time later, while Monster-Handlers Tyson, Charlie, and Ben were busy scanning the new Torus map, Monster-Handler Jenn alerts them of another new visitor: the Wubbox has also arrived on Fire Oasis!
Breakout Stars[]
In Zarroe's brain, on the beautiful micro-Island of Ethereal Workshop, Vhenshun, the Mech Boss, had a plan to escape the Workshop to explore the Monster World, it built up a signal structure and used one of Nitebear's antenna to spread signals easily to escape the workshop.
Meanwhile, on the rocky surfaces of Earth Island, all monsters are excited for going into the Clubbox for a SummerSong DJ Epic party. DJ Epic made its appearance by teleporting every monster that were found by the Clubbox's signals radiation. All of them were present when suddenly, an alert popped-up in DJ Epic's mask. The alert's message popped-up a message with the following translation from Monstrous to English 'New Signal Found' DJ Epic suddenly turned its button and several question marks appeared on the screen. DJ Epic was confused and decided to hit the button which made the Workshoppers to be teleported into the Clubbox.
Everyone started enjoying when the party began, nevertheless, Vhenshun pulled out its saw, revealing its mouth and was precipitating towards the exit door instead of enjoying the party. There was a special room for the V.I.M (Very Important Monster) for Entbrat. colourful powders were spread outwards the room, which will potentially reveal a new monster.
Meanwhile, Nitebear wanted to join Flasque when he stepped on a Poisonous puddle, and Flasque was disgusted. X'rt was enjoying on a disco ball and Meebkin was throwing its meebstick upwards the disco ball while swinging it. It's time for the V.I.M to reveal the new monster which spread out colourful powders, which is EPIC KAZILLEON, the new Epic Ethereal Monster, it started diving into the crowd for cheering it up, the same applied to X'rt when it started falling down from its disco ball.
At the same time, DJ EPIC found a new Ethereal Workshop monster by another alert that popped-up. It was OOGIDDY, the Poison Quad, which surprised Whaill and Blarret, the revealer of its Otamatonic instrument. Meanwhile, Vhenshun was excited by seeing the Earth Island's landscape, but it was too late for escaping. As the party finished, DJ Epic teleported the monsters back to their home and Vhenshun was very miserable, and its plan failed.
Fyre Oasys Festyval[]
On July 31st, a huge planned festival was hosted, with DJ Epic playing some songs to hype up all of the monsters. However, as the festival was still going, it became more like a hoax like DJ Epic's hair actually being a wig, and much more. At the very last moments of the festival, the screens became green, and the laptop showed an image of a painting of Mimic. At the very end, it was revealed that DJ Epic was actually Mimic in disguise, and the set began to fall down, exposing the festival to not be in some city, but on Fire Oasis. After that, a Kayna looked at the poster and thinks that the festival was a big scam, meaning it was a bad idea, so it gives itself a facepalm.
Off the Beaten Path[]
After nearly 11 months of going inside Zarroë's head, we finally got something BIG happening, BeMeebEth makes its appearance! Its instability makes its appearance reflect all Ethereal elements and has a great voice to sing. Meanwhile on Wublin Island, after a discovery of all Rare Wublins, the Rare Wubbox finally makes an appearance, ready to sing and join in the song of Wublin Island. But wait, there's more! We got Epic Mythicals joining us in and also reveals about the Mythicals being back in the Dawn of Fire with more info by reading the Dawn of Fire timeline section. Mirror Islands are finally getting re-arranged versions of their songs, but also to mention, there's now newly discovered paths to make the islands more beautiful than ever! And one more thing, Voidcorn is here too, making an unexpected appearance in the monster world.
Mirror-Gazing and Soul-Searching[]
The Stair Shaper's efforts from the cataclysm finally caught up to the timeline of the Monster World. The orbs formed from the landmasses of the Outer Islands traversed the Mirror Dimension, imbuing the Party Island landmass with Mirror Light Island; the Space Island landmass with Mirror Psychic Island; the Cloud Island landmass with Mirror Faerie Island; the Cave Island landmass with Mirror Bone Island. Back at the Nexus, the Stair Shaper communed with Phosphora, forming a crystal containing the Titan's soul. Hey, what’s going on? A portal is ripped open in the sky and… is that one of Zarroë’s hands?
Pairanormal Activity[]
During Festival of Yay, on Psychic Island, all the monsters are having fun. Except… the island seems… glitchy? Rooba taps a tree with their stick and… woah! What’s that? A major storm starts, causing extreme disruption, then out of nowhere, a beam of light shoots into the air. A chunk of the sky lowers and reveals the Paironormal Hairionette! The monster sings its beautiful chorus and is welcomed by the others! But what’s this? In the Mirror Dimension, Hairionette corrupts into its minor form. Creepy! Though it still adds an amazing part to its song. Wait, what’s that? Over on Ethereal Workshop, a Whaill is strolling through the castle when suddenly… a portal appears and one of Zarroë’s hands takes it through! What’s going on?!
Gotta Hand It To You[]
Zarroë’s hand is coming to take Reebro away… but it turns out just to be Epic Fung Pray! All seems normal until a portal opens up in front of Ethereal Island and in the Workshop… Speaking of which, inside Zarroeë’s head, missing posters are being put up for the Whaill who was recently taken away and never seen again. Then more start disappearing through the same type of portal and onto a long platform where they walk to yet another portal. Meanwhile, back in front of Ethereal Island, one of Zarroë’s hands reaches up and breaks the barrier of the Pocket Dimension. It then forms a smaller island, an islet, with the new Dish-Harmonizer structure full of plasma meebs. A Whaill is shoved into the pool of meebs and separated into a Meebkin and a Nebulob. Even more monsters, each with the Plasma element, appear on the islet, allowing all of them to get better acquainted with one another since their unexpected encounter at the Clubbox during the SummerSong party that year. During the commotion, Ghazt notices a familiar creature hiding behind the foliage. It thinks back 20 months to Life Formula 2023 and remembers something that looks just like it. It turns out to be the Primordial Monster Lowb! The now finished monster and all the other Plasma-Elementals create a new song for Plasma Islet!
And that brings us to where we are today.

Unknown Time[]
Sometime before, or possibly during, the cataclysm, Galvana went to the Pocket Dimension and founded the Workshop, where they built Wubbox. After Galvana completed its experiments, it left the Pocket Dimension and hid the finished products in underground vaults, where they were found in the Contemporary Era. Zarroë would find the remains of Galvana’s Workshop and started using it as a base of operations, which is how they were able to make the rest of the Ethereals.
Sometime before the Cataclysm, the Colossals created the Coloss-Eye’s in order to wake themselves up, in case they had to sacrifice themselves.
At some point during the Great Pause, the Magical Sanctum Titan, Enchantler, tried to become a Colossal. However, after discovering such a feat was almost impossible, it fled to the Pocket Dimension where it founded Magical Sanctum.
