“ | Thwoks may be easily tongue-tied when trying to vocalize, but the length of their tongue is fundamental to performing their soulful tune. With designated bands for gustation of any kind, it composes savoury bass lines that fuse sound and taste in a multi-sensory experience. | ” |

Description[]
Thwok is a Supernatural Monster exclusive to Wublin Island. It was added on March 24th, 2016 during Version 1.4.0. Thwok is obtained by being purchased in the Market for 17,000 as an inactive statue, which can be woken up by zapping all required Monster Eggs into it. It has a decent currency production compared to other Wublins.
Song[]
Instrument: Double bass
Performer: Sam Clark's father (Steve Clark)
Thwok's song sounds like a double bass being played in pizzicato (plucking).
VSTs[]
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]
Thwok cannot be bred. Like all Wublins, it is bought at the Market as an inactive statue that must be woken up.
Powering Up[]
The allotted time to fill a Thwok in order to activate is 7 days. If the inventory is not completed in the time the Thwok resets to an empty statue and all eggs inside are lost. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural Islands.

Filling In[]
Like other Wublins, Thwok can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 30. Thwok requires a total of 750 for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Thwok's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.
Income[]
- Main article: Wublins#Income
Thwok, like other Wublins, can produce between 39,000 and 78,000 Coins, 7,200 and 14,400 Treats, and 144 and 288 Shards. As a Monster that takes up a 2x2 grid space, Thwok produces 2 Diamonds. Wublins generate a random type of currency every 6 to 12 hours. This rate can be increased or decreased depending on Polarity.
Currency generation is calculated separately per Monster, so multiple Thwoks will receive more currency, and have a higher chance overall to obtain valuable Diamonds. For maximizing income across your Wublin Island, see Wublin Island Grid Planning.
Currency Distribution[]
- Main article: Wublins#Currency Type Distribution
The currency for Thwok is randomly selected from the 4 currencies it can produce. The chances to get each currency are detailed below. Datapoints are the number of recorded collections; the higher number of datapoints, the more accurate the data is.
Coins | Treats | Shards | Diamonds | Datapoints |
---|---|---|---|---|
33.30% | 32.69% | 29.58% | 4.43% | 4,081 |
Please do not edit this table. The data is taken from the Wublins page, which is derived from a joint spreadsheet. You can share your data on its talk page. Note that only large sample sizes of data are valuable.
Polarity[]
All Wublins are affected by Polarity, a mechanic that modifies their currency rate similar to happiness for other Monsters. When a Wublin is placed near another Wublin they are positively charged towards, the time to produce currency will decrease by 25%. When placed near a Wublin they are negatively charged towards, the time to produce currency will increase by 25%. The Common variants can be used instead for Rare Wublins, but the effect will be half as strong. Rare variants can fully affect the polarity of a Common Wublin.
The following Wublins affect Thwok's polarity:

Thwok also affects the polarity of the following Wublins:

Strategy[]
- The following section details strategy for powering up Thwok, for general strategy that can apply to any Monster, see Zapping#Strategy
Thwok can be powered up with up to Earth Island unlocked. It can be powered up faster with more Islands unlocked, with Bonus Breeding Structures, or Enhanced Breeding Structures. The following strategy require zapping Eggs twice per day, once in the morning and once at night.
The following strategy is the best for players that don't have Bonus Breeding Structures or Mirror Islands. It requires all Islands up to Earth Island.
Island | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 |
---|---|---|---|
Plant Island |
Entbrat |
Bowgart x2 |
Bowgart Furcorn |
Cold Island |
Deedge |

Quibble x2 |

However, if you have all Islands and Mirror Islands unlocked, and Bonus Breeding Structures on every Island, you can complete Thwok with only prebreeding using this strategy. Note that this strategy requires you to prebreed a Deedge on Shugabush Island. Since Shugabush Island breeding is unreliable, the strategy assumes that you can only breed on it once.

Notes[]
- Thwok's name is derived from the onomatopoeia of the same name for plucking a string (pizzicato).
- When it releases its tongue, a red dot can often be seen for a brief moment where it was being held. It is unknown why this happens or what it's for. It's most likely to pinpoint where Thwok's hand should go to avoid a model error.
- Thwok is the first and only Wublin to be used as an avatar in Jammer Splash.
- Thwok is the first Wublin to have hands, or at least anything but long pincers (Thwok was released along with Dwumrohl, who also has hands, but Thwok came first.)
- After Creepuscule, Thwok is the second most playing Wublin, as it is only idle before the second half of the final measure.
- Thwok’s appearance, as well as the requirement for PomPom eggs to wake it up, has made some believe it may be a part of the Pomily.
- However, due to Big Blue Bubble's listing of the official Pomily members in various places (noticeably excluding Thwok), as well as the confirmation that Wubbox had created every one of the Wublins itself, this has since been disproven.
- Thwok is the only Monster on Wublin Island to play a stringed instrument.
- The lowest note in Thwok's track (a low E flat/D sharp) requires tuning the E string on a double bass down a half step.
