My Singing Monsters Wiki

The tippity-tappity tones made by Tapicorn's sticks meeting its horn are believed to be a form of communication undecipherable by any known Monster. Still, this Morse-like language is surely reaching out to someone! When quizzed on the subject, these uni-horned Monsters are ever evasive - but their pithy replies indicate that their penpal likely resides on another plane of existence.

Description[]

Tapricorn is a Triple-Element Magical Monster that is found on Psychic Island and Magical Nexus. It was added on September 25th, 2019, during version 2.3.2. It is best obtained by breeding Bonkers and Toe Jammer. By default, its breeding time is 16 hours long. As a Triple-Elemental, Tapricorn has a somewhat decent Coin production. The Goal for placing your first Tapricorn rewards the player with 50,000 Coins (Coins) and 1 Diamond (Diamonds).

On Magical Nexus, Tapricorn is obtained by Transposing by spending 4,000,000 Coins once fed to level 18. Its Transposing time is 1 day, 10 hours long. Unlike Psychic Island, Tapricorn does not produce currency on Magical Nexus.

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]

Tapricorn requires the elements of Plant (), Water (), and Psychic (Psychic Element). Breeding combinations are as follows:

Of these, Bonkers+Toe Jammer is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Toe Jammer lets you retry the combo almost instantly.

Tapricorn can also be bred in a breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Tapricorn in a breeding failure include:

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Tapricorn if Rare Tapricorn is unavailable)

(Good choice, very small chance of getting Gloptic, can also result in a Hairionette if available)

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Tapricorn:

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Tapricorn eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials and Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Tapricorn eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

Notes[]

  • Tapricorn's name is a portmanteau of “tap” and “Capricorn”, who is a zodiac goat, as well as possibly “unicorn” in reference to its horn.
  • There was a bug where Rooba's Monster Names shared Tapricorn's Monster Names. This was fixed as of October 4th, 2019.
  • During the episode of My Singing Monsters Live on April 19th, 2023, it was stated that Tapricorns may have multiple pen pals.
  • According to Episode 6 of Quick Questions, Tapricorn kids instantly start searching for sticks once hatched.
  • Tapricorn's original design was based on Glowbe concept art.[1]
  • Tapricorn is the only instrumental Monster on Magical Nexus who doesn't reuse their VST from their original Island.
