My Singing Monsters Wiki

Combining Ethereal Elements in groupings greater than two is understood to be incredibly unstable. The unique conditions of the Workshop make it the only place in the Monster World where such risky maneuvers are attempted, and that's mostly to do with the presence of the Synthesizer. The 'mad science' of the Workshop reaches its zenith with this living Structure, which is responsible for stabilizing the Elemental energies from attuned Meebs into the coalesced eggs of new Ethereal hybrids. Taking care not to harm the Meebs is delicate work, and because each Element imparts a different amount of instability, certain combinations are still too unstable for the Synthesizer to withstand. Future upgrades must be considered to expand the Workshop family further.
In-game description

The Refined Synthesizer has been upgraded from the base form to accommodate for the instability present in more advanced Triple combinations, and can even manage the least unstable Quad-Element configuration (albeit with some difficulty). The payoff is this advanced Synthesis process requires an already-coalesced form to build upon, so a Triple-Element Ethereal must be prepared to undergo the transformation of a lifetime to accomplish it. That, and more Attuned Meebs and Shards are needed than ever before. But no matter - in the name of science, progress cannot be halted and innovation never curtailed! Onward!
Refined description

As the Synthesizer continues to undergo refinements that allow for increasingly unstable Ethereal Elemental combinations to be formed, the living Structure itself appears to be changing as well. The 'hose' that connects the tumbling Meebs has lengthened to accommodate greater energy demands, and the glow from the central chamber seems to have shifted in hue as well. Most notably, the modest bulb near the top that began as a container for some mysterious chemical agent has swelled to a more impressive size, and now houses… something else.
Hyper-Refined description

Refinements continue to shape the Synthesizer as we know it. Perhaps owing to increased strain of targeting more and more unstable Element combinations, the Synthesizer now has a protective 'door' across the main aperture to protect from radiation. The bulb up top has further expanded to accomodate a mysterious organism within, and a warmer, more vital color is beginning to seep outwards from it into the criss-crossing stems on the Structure's exterior. The color of these living stems matches the 'trees' that dot the landscape of the Workshop, definitively highlighting the Synthesis process's reliance on all things organic to achieve greater stability.
Super-Hyper-Refined description

Nearing its final stage of refinement, the Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined Synthesizer is positively bursting with vitality! The verdant hues emanating from the upper bulb have spread throughout the Structure, and the organism lurking within can barely contain itself. The woody stems encircling the central chamber now offer a more solid frame, perfect for synthesizing among the most unstable Elemental combinations known to Monsterkind!
Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined description

Refinement: complete! With these finishing touches to the Ultra-Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined Synthesizer, the most unstable Elemental combinations known to the Workshop are within reach. But the budding blooms atop its winding branches aren't the only life form growing strong... the mysterious organism lurking within the upper bulb has continued to harvest nourishment from the expanding orchestra of the Workshop. Will we ever come to know its true nature?
Ultra-Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined description

The Synthesizer is a unique Structure found on Ethereal Workshop. It essentially acts as a joint Nursery and Breeding Structure, as it is where the Monster eggs are created and hatched.

To create a Monster in the Synthesizer, certain amounts and kinds of Meebs must be first be attuned in the Attunement Structure. The Meebs are then placed inside the Synthesizer and have a chance of producing a Monster with the elements of the chosen Meebs (for example, a Blarret requires a Shadow, Plasma, and Poison Meeb). If a combination of Meebs is entered and it does not yet match a Monster, the Synthesizer will instead erupt and randomly reattune the Meebs placed inside. However, there is still a chance of eruption even if the combination does indeed match a Monster. Neutral Meebs cannot be placed in the Synthesizer.

When synthesizing a Quad or Quint-Element Ethereal, the Synthesizer will also require a pre-existing Triple or Quad-Element Ethereal to "build upon", in addition to Meebs attuned to each of the elements of the resulting Monster. The Monster used in the synthesis process will be lost if the synthesis is successful.

Stability[]

Different Attuned Meebs have different stabilities when placed inside the Synthesizer. The elements scale in their instability in order of their appearances on the Natural Islands (for example, a Plasma Meeb adds the least instability to the Synthesizer, as it is on the first Natural Island. Alternatively, a Poison Meeb adds the most instability, for it is present on the last Natural Island). They are all from the selection of Meebs you put into the Synthesizer.

  • Upon failure of Synthesizing a Triple-Element Ethereal Monster, the time it takes for synthesizing will decrease to 10 hours, and the player will get a random selection of Meebs that will return to you.
  • Upon failure of Synthesizing a Quad-Element Ethereal Monster, the time it takes for synthesizing will decrease to 17 hours, and the player will get a random selection of Meebs that will return to you. That Synthesized Monster will remain.
  • Upon failure of Synthesizing a Quint-Element Ethereal Monster (in that case BeMeebEth), the time it takes for synthesizing will decrease to 22 hours, and the player will get a random selection of Meebs that will return to you. That Synthesized Monster will remain.
  • Upon successful Synthesis a Triple-Element Ethereal Monster, the time it takes for synthesizing will increase to 30 hours and that Monster will be available to collect from the Synthesizer.
  • Upon successful Synthesis a Quad-Element Ethereal Monster, the time it takes for synthesizing will increase to 42 hours and that Monster will be available to collect from the Synthesizer. That Synthesized Monster will be lost.
  • Upon successful Synthesis a Quint-Element Ethereal Monster (in that case BeMeebEth), the time it takes for synthesizing will increase to 55 hours and that Monster will be available to collect from the Synthesizer. That Synthesized Monster will be lost.

If the combination of Meebs reaches the end of the chart, there will be a sign with an exclamation mark and a loud whistling noise will play.

The Synthesizer, features a chart with a gauge showing the level of instability for combinations of Attuned Meebs. The closer the gauge is to the green side, the more stable the Monster combination will be. The closer it is to the red side, the more unstable it will be. The more unstable a combo gets, the higher the chance of it failing. The meeb instability goes as follows: Plasma (Plasma Element) has an instability of 1, Shadow (Shadow Element) has an instability of 2, Mech (Mech Element) has an instability of 3, Crystal (Crystal Element) has an instability of 4, and Poison (Poison Element) has an instability of 5.

Synthesizer Stability Infographic 2

The stability of a combination depends on the multiplicity of the combination of the elements of the meebs. For example, the combination of Plasma Element Plasma, Shadow Element Shadow, and Mech Element Mech (1 x 2 x 3 = 6) has the same stability as Shadow Element and Mech Element on their own (2 x 3 = 6). At the moment, the Synthesizer can handle a maximum stability of 120.

Upgrades[]

As of version 4.1.2, the Synthesizer can be upgraded to synthesize more complex Ethereal Monsters. It should be noted that the player cannot synthesize any Monsters while the Synthesizer is being upgraded.

In-Game Synthesis Guide[]

Notes[]

  • The Synthesizer' name derives from the word "Synthesis", which is the combination of smaller parts to form a bigger whole, while also playing off the name of a popular musical instrument, the namesake synthesizer.
  • The Synthesizer is one of the only structures besides the Nursery and the Stair Shaper (and the Fuzer, if counting Glowbe eggs) able to hatch eggs.
  • The order of instability from lowest to highest is as follows:
    • Plasma, Shadow, Mech - Yooreek (6 Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Crystal - Meebkin (8 Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Poison - Blarret (10 Instability)
    • Plasma, Mech, Crystal - Gaddzooks (12 Instability)
    • Plasma, Mech, Poison - Auglur (15 Instability, Regular Synthesizer maximum)
    • Plasma, Crystal, Poison - Flasque (20 Instability)
    • Shadow, Mech, Crystal - Nitebear (24 Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Mech, Crystal - Whaill (29 Instability, Refined Synthesizer maximum)
    • Shadow, Mech, Poison - Piplash (30 Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Mech, Poison - Vhenshun (30 Instability, Hyper-Refined Synthesizer maximum)
    • Shadow, Crystal, Poison - X'rt (40 Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Crystal, Poison - Pentumbra (40 Instability, Super-Hyper-Refined Synthesizer maximum)
    • Mech, Crystal, Poison - Teeter-Tauter (60 Instability)
    • Plasma, Mech, Crystal, Poison - Rhysmuth (60 Instability, Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined Synthesizer maximum)
    • Shadow, Mech, Crystal, Poison - Oogiddy (120 Maximum Instability)
    • Plasma, Shadow, Mech, Crystal, Poison - BeMeebEth (120 Maximum Instability, Ultra-Mega-Super-Hyper-Refined Synthesizer maximum)
      • As it turns out, the first five Monsters to inhabit the workshop are all at the top of the stability list. As the Synthesizer gets further upgraded, the more potentially stable combinations are unlocked before the most unstable ones.
  • When being used for synthesis, Monsters can still produce Shards but can not be collected from.
  • The "thing" on the top of the Hyper-Refined upgrade to the Synthesizer bears a resemblance to a fetus.
    • This "thing" was long theorized by fans as being the Ethereal Quint. This has been proven to indeed be the case with the reveal of BeMeebEth.
    • Once a BeMeebEth is successfully synthesized and hatched, the "thing" inside the Synthesizer will disappear until the two-day cooldown ends.
