As avid rock collectors, Stoggs relish digging into the earth with their powerful forelegs to find shiny new minerals. Unfortunately this absentminded Monster also enjoys burying their treasure, often forgetting the location soon after.

Quick Answers

What is the best way to breed a Stogg in Monster Bio? toggle section
In Monster Bio, a Stogg can be bred by pairing Noggin and Kayna. The breeding duration is 10 hours for a Common Stogg and 13 hours and 30 minutes for a Rare Stogg. Pairing a Rare Stogg with a Common Stogg will also yield a Stogg. The likelihood of breeding a Rare Stogg is heightened during special events. However, there's a possibility that an attempt to breed a Common Stogg may yield a Rare Stogg instead.

What is the unique characteristic of Stogg in terms of its treasure? toggle section
Stogg, a Double-Element Fire Monster, is recognized for its unique treasure-related trait. It has a penchant for collecting shiny minerals, which it unearths using its strong forelegs. However, Stogg often buries its treasure and subsequently forgets where. The best method to obtain Stogg is by breeding Noggin and Kayna. It was initially available on Fire Haven following the 2.2.4 Fire Haven update on November 21, 2018.

Which two monsters are best for breeding a Stogg? toggle section
To breed a Stogg, use Noggin and Kayna. Breeding a Double-Element Fire Monster like Stogg is not a guaranteed success and can result in either of the breeding parents. However, a Stogg and a Rare Stogg can be bred together to guarantee a Stogg. Be aware that attempts involving a Stogg may result in a Rare Stogg if it is available.

Description[]

Stogg is a Double-Element Fire Monster that is first unlocked on Fire Haven. It was added on November 21st, 2018, during the 2.2.4 Fire Haven update. It is best obtained by breeding Noggin and Kayna. By default, its breeding time is 10 hours long. As a Double-Elemental, Stogg does not have a high Coin production. Breeding[]

Stogg is bred with the Elements Earth and Fire.

Noggin
+
Kayna

Note that unlike Dawn of Fire, breeding Double-Element Fire Monsters is not a guaranteed success.

If you already have a Stogg, these breeding combinations are more efficient.

Stogg
+
Rare Stogg

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Stogg if Rare Stogg is unavailable)

Stogg
+
Noggin

(Good choice, if Noggin eggs can be safely disposed of to Nursery, Wublin, Celestial, or Vessel)

Stogg
+
Pladdie

Stogg
+
Plinkajou

(Good choice, very small chance of Pladdie/Plinkajou, can result in Epic Mammott/Epic Toe Jammer if available.)

Note: Avoid using Stogg and Tring on Fire Haven, due to being the breeding combo for Epic Kayna, which has a higher chance of a Tring.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster of the same rarity on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Stogg:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Note: Stogg only likes Gnarls on Amber Island, and not on Bone Island. Also, on Amber Island, all of Stogg's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Stogg's happiness.

Monsters Who Like It[]

The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Stogg or when Stogg and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Stogg's likes as well:

Revitalizing[]

On Amber Island, Stogg must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Stogg by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]

Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Stogg can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40. Stogg requires a total of 1,160 for all eggs to be filled.

Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.

Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Stogg's inventory with 1 per egg. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Statistics[]

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's level also increases this limit.

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Stogg eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

Notes[]

  • Stogg's name is a portmanteau of stegosaurus, dog, and .ogg, an audio file.
  • On Fire Haven, Stogg plays the second part of Plant Island faintly at a different pitch.
  • When Fire Haven was first released, Stogg was not centered into its grid, instead of standing in front of it. This also applied to Thrumble when it first released.
    • As of version 2.3.6, Stogg and its Rare variant are now centered into their grids.
  • According to the Bone Island trailer, Stogg likes to chase after bones, similar to dogs in the real world.
  • It is the only instrumental Fire Double-Elemental, as Flowah, Glowl, Phangler, and Boskus are all vocal Fire Double-Elementals.
  • When Wave 4 was released on Amber Island, there was a bug that made Stogg look like it plays its track with Flowah and Barrb, but there was no sound, as it was not intended to play its part there. This also similarly happened with Deedge and Congle upon the release of Maggpi on Cold Island.
  • Blake at Stake, the creator of the Drop the Myc Costume, deems the "canonical" name of Drop the Myc Stoggs to be "Gerald." This has not been approved by the Monster-Handlers.
  • Stogg was the last Double-Element Fire Monster to receive a Seasonal Costume.
  • Following the release of Fire Oasis, the Monster Handlers planned 4 more islands (now the Magical Islands) for Monsters of the Fire Element. Had these Fire Islands come to fruition, Stogg would have been the Fire Double with the second-most appearances (4), with Glowl narrowly beating it at 5.
    • This is unique due to the fact it and Glowl would have been the only Fire Doubles to increase their number of appearances, the other 3 staying the same at 3.
