“ | According to monster lore, the ancestors of the Sox were self-conscious of the gaping holes in their tails. Over time, it was discovered that eating precious stones spurred the growth of peculiar metal pads over the holes. Quite by accident, Soxes learned they could use them, along with their tube-like snouts, to create smooth musical riffs! The age-old mystery of 'What does the Sox say' has now been solved. | ” |
Sox is a double-element Ethereal Monster. It was added to The Colossingum on October 11th, 2023, during Version 4.1.0.
Once Sox has been fed to at least level 5, it can be teleported to The Colossingum from Ethereal Island or Plasma Islet.

Strategy[]
As a Plasma () and Crystal (
) Monster, Sox is naturally strong against Mech (
) and Poison (
) Monsters, but is only resistant to Mech (
) attacks. It is both weak against and vulnerable to Shadow (
) and Poison (
) Monsters and attacks. Whenever Sox uses a Plasma (
) or Crystal (
) attack, it heals itself based on its output damage. Like all Ethereal Monsters, it will cease to heal itself after using any ethereal move five times. Sox lacks costumes that give you Shadow (
), Mech (
), and Poison (
) moves, thus missing out on dealing strong damage to any of Meebkin’s derivatives.
Costume Choices:
- What Big Eyes is a straight upgrade of its Musical move.
- Forest Cloak replaces its Crystal (
) attack with a Plant (
) attack that's equally as strong so it can deal greater damage to all Water (
) Monsters. Sox also gains a coverage similar to Ghazt and only misses out on dealing strong damage to Ethereal Monsters with any of Whaill’s elements
Notes[]
- The "What Big Eyes" costume's name and appearance are both likely inspired by the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood," where the wolf is dressed up as the titular character's grandma.
- The name and melody of the move "Unknown Saying" is a nod to the Ylvis song "What Does the Fox Say?," which itself has also been referenced in Sox's bio.
- The melody of the "Caudal Cuddle" move is the same as the opening riff from "Careless Whisper" by George Michael.
- The melody of the "Precious Pads" move sounds like the first few notes to Tatyana Ali's "Precious Wings."
- The melody of the "Forest Cloak" move directly parallels "The Lick," a musical phrase that appears in many jazz/pop compositions. The Lick is also referenced in the Colossingum's losing sound effect.
- The "Precious Pads" and "Forest Cloak" moves have the same power.
- Sox and Fung Pray are the only two Double-Element Ethereals to have Plant Element Costumes.
