My Singing Monsters

It takes a lot of strength training to hold up Sooza's humongous horn - how else do you think it got those calves? But like any well-balanced Monster, Sooza's physical strength doesn't hold a candle to the robust heart that its friends know so well. Sooza is always prepared to drop everything (except its horn) so it can listen to a Monster in need and lift their spirits.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Sooza is a Triple-Element Fire Monster that is found on Light Island and Amber Island. It was added on September 30th, 2020 during the 3.0.1 Light Island update. It is best obtained by breeding Flowah and Mammott. By default, its breeding time is 20 hours long. As a Fire Triple-Elemental, Sooza has decent Coin production, though Blow't is recommended. The Goal for placing your first Sooza rewards the player with 50,000 Coins and 3 Relics.

On Amber Island, Sooza is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 20 Relics as a Vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it. As a Fire Triple-Elemental, Sooza has decent Relic production.

Song[]

Audio Samples:

Brass Ensemble (Memory Game; Light Island):

Tuba (Amber Island):

Instrument: Brass Ensemble (Light), Tuba (Amber)

Despite it being named after the sousaphone and even playing the sousaphone (in the design and animation), Sooza actually plays a brass ensemble, but it instead plays in staccato articulations instead of long lasting notes, like in the prequel game. On Amber Island, it sounds more like a tuba, and in addition to its staccato notes, it also plays the second half of each of its songs with a rubato articulation. However, blowing it hard usually makes it tired.

VSTs[]

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]

Sooza requires the elements of Plant, Cold and Fire. Breeding combinations are as follows:

Of these, Flowah+Mammott is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Mammott lets you retry the combo almost instantly.

Sooza can also be bred in a breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Sooza in a breeding failure include:

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Sooza if Rare Sooza is unavailable)

(Good choice, very small chance of getting Blow't)

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Sooza:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Note: On Amber Island, all of Sooza's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Sooza's happiness.

Monsters Who Like It[]

The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Sooza or when Sooza and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Sooza's likes as well:

Revitalizing[]

On Amber Island, Sooza must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but are instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Sooza by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]

Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Sooza can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40Diamonds. Sooza requires a total of 1,520Diamonds for all eggs to be filled.

Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.

Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Sooza's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Sooza eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Sooza eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Notes[]

  • Sooza's name comes from its instrument, the sousaphone.
  • Sooza is the last Triple-Element Fire Monster from Dawn of Fire to be added into the game.
  • All of Sooza's decoration likes have some similarity to Sooza itself. The Toob is similar to tuba in spelling, the Trumplite being a trumpet, another brass instrument, and the Reflecting Pool, the vine curls around it similar to Sooza's sousaphone.
  • Sooza had three Likes before Fiddlement was added.
  • A group of Soozas is called an 'ensemble.'[1]
  • When Sooza first released on Amber Island, all of its default Monster Names were actually Rare Flowah's Monster Names. This is likely due to one of Rare Flowah's names being "Soozan", which starts with "Sooza".
  • Sooza is the only non-Magical Monster on Light Island that plays an instrument, like Rootitoot on Psychic Island.
  • Two of Sooza's required eggs on Amber Island are members of the Pomily, those being PomPom and Rooba.
  • Sooza is the last Triple-Element Fire Monster (and the last non-Fire Expansion Fire Monster) on a Magical Island to have its Epic variant.
  • Sooza plays a different instrument(s) on every Island it's on:
