My Singing Monsters

It takes a lot of strength training to hold up Sooza's humongous horn - how else do you think it got those calves? But like any well-balanced Monster, Sooza's physical strength doesn't hold a candle to the robust heart that its friends know so well. Sooza is always prepared to drop everything (except its horn) so it can listen to a Monster in need and lift their spirits.
Monster Bio

Description

Sooza is a triple-element Fire Monster exclusive to Light Island and Amber Island. It was added on September 30th, 2020 during the 3.0.1 Light Island update. It is best obtained by breeding Flowah and Mammott. By default, its breeding time is 20 hours long. As a Fire Triple Elemental, Sooza has decent coin production, though Blow't is recommended.

On Amber Island, Sooza is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 20 Relics as a vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it.

Song

Audio Sample:

Instrument: Brass Ensemble (The sousaphone has a pitch range too deep)[citation needed]

VST: Kontakt

Despite it being named after the Sousaphone, Sooza actually plays a Brass Ensemble, but it instead plays in short spouts instead of long lasting notes like in the prequel game.

Breeding

Sooza requires the elements of Plant, Cold and Fire. Breeding combinations are as follows:

The best combination is Flowah and Mammott as you either succeed in getting a Sooza, get a Flowah, or get a Mammott, allowing you to retry almost instantly.

Sooza can also be bred in a breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Sooza in a breeding failure include:

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Sooza if Rare Sooza is unavailable)

(Good choice, very small chance of getting Blow't)

Likes

Every monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the monster, the monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a monster will still only increase its happiness by 25%. If there's a Unity Tree on the island, items don't need to be near the monsters. Below are the things liked by Sooza:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all monsters' likes.

Note: on Amber Island, Sooza only likes other Monsters, and not any of the available Decorations, and cannot achieve 100% Happiness at this time. It is suspected that future Monsters on Amber Island will increase its Happiness.

Powering Up

On Amber Island, Sooza must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but are instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Sooza by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds.

Earning Rate and Maximum Income

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Feeding Monsters

Each monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the monster's level increases the coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum coins earned.

Egg Consumption

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Sooza can be used to "dispose of" Sooza eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available.

Note that bred Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" into inactive Vessels; active ones do not accept Monster eggs. Also note that inactive Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Sooza eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Notes

  • Sooza's name comes from its instrument, the sousaphone.
  • Sooza is the last Triple-Element Fire monster from Dawn of Fire to be added into the game.
  • All Sooza's decoration likes have some similarity to Sooza, the Toob is similar to tuba in spelling, the Trumplite being trumpet, another brass instrument and the Reflecting Pool, the vine curls around it similar to Sooza's sousaphone.
  • Sooza had 3 likes before Fiddlement was added.
  • A group of Soozas is called an 'ensemble' (Monster-handler Matt, MSM Live episode 105)
  • When Sooza first released on Amber Island, all of its default Monster Names were actually Rare Flowah's Monster Names.
