My Singing Monsters Wiki
This is the main article for SkyPainting. For the category, see Category:SkyPainting.

SkyPainting is an Auxiliary Seasonal Event celebrated on Light Island, and is an Element manifested by Whiz-bang. It is the Monster World equivalent of Pride Month, with Monster-centric elements celebrating Glowbes and the Prism Dimension. It is celebrated from late June to early July. It is also celebrated during a short-term Out of Season Event in late December and in a Time of the Season promotion during Anniversary Month.

During SkyPainting the following are available: Whiz-bang (and its Rare and Epic variants), event themed Costumes, event themed Decorations, event-themed Obstacles, and the Seasonal Island Skin. There are also special sales and promotions, and sometimes new content is released.

Real-World Influences[]

SkyPainting has several influences from real-world events. Its primary influences are Pride Month and LGBT Pride Day on June 28, which have been confirmed by the Monster-Handlers,[1] and are prominently referenced in the event's content: references to Pride and themes of diversity and belonging are shown in Whiz-bang's bio and the description of the Island Skin, along with other references to LGBT history in Whiz-bang and its variants. This is also shown in the "Loud and Proud" promotion, which features several multi-colored Rares and Epics, notably including Rare Quarrister, whose design and bio reference Pride, as it was released on the same week gay marriage was legalized in the United States.

The event also shares minor influences with other holidays and events, such as the first solstice in June. It is hinted at in the Island Skin's bio, which also references the Aurora Australis, or the Southern Lights, which are most visible between June and August in the Southern Hemisphere during winter. American Independence Day and Canada Day are both referenced in that they are both holidays that are celebrated in July with fireworks, which are the "instrument" for Whiz-bang and a prominent motif in the SkyPainting Island Skin. However, SkyPainting's use of fireworks doesn't tie into any particular holiday. Fireworks are just a generally festive tradition used in many different celebrations. Canada Day also relates to Big Blue Bubble Inc. itself, as it is headquartered in London, Canada.

History[]

Below details the history of past SkyPainting celebrations.

SkyPainting 2023[]

SkyPainting started on Wednesday, June 28th and ended on Monday, July 10th. This was the first celebration of SkyPainting that started off with Whiz-bang being added to Light Island. It also added the Dipsters on Light Island and Rare Fluoress on Light Island and Magical Sanctum. The SkyPainting Island Skin was also released.

SkyPainting 2024[]

SkyPainting started on Wednesday, June 26th and ended on Monday, July 8th. The event introduced four new Seasonal Costumes (for Fluoress, Spytrap, Tiawa, and Blow't), four new Seasonal Decorations (Fireworks Stand, Kaleidoscope, Glowbe Guise, and Prism Gate Replica), and the discovery of Epic Whiz-bang on its respective Islands. The event also introduced Rare Buzzinga, which was teased in the Month of the Mythical 3 Kickoff video, and Epic Repatillo. At the start of the month of July, Adult Galvana became available to ascend for the first time.

SkyPainting 2025[]

SkyPainting started on Wednesday, June 25th and ended on Monday, July 7th. The event introduced four new Seasonal Costumes (for Gob, Sooza, TooToo, and Pango) and the discovery of Rare Squot, Rare Blow't and Rare Larvaluss and two new Seasonal treats (Cotton Candy & Rainb-o). A new Island called Mech Islet with the Primordial Bogle was released.

Legacy Celebration[]

In addition to SkyPainting, Pride Month has been celebrated since 2021 with a series of yearly promotions in June called "Loud and Proud", in which featured Monsters with rainbow color schemes become available for a limited time.

Promotions[]

Loud and Proud[]

This promotion often happens at the end of June to celebrate Pride Month. During this promotion, Rares and Epics with rainbow color schemes become available. This includes Rare Fwog, Rare Quibble, Rare Deedge, Rare Tring, Rare Quarrister, Rare Wimmzies, Rare Mushaboom, Rare Nebulob, Epic PomPom, Epic Deedge, and Epic Hoola. This is a recurring promotion that was started in 2021, before SkyPainting was celebrated (see Legacy Celebration above).

Bright Side[]

During this promotion, all Light Island Rares and Epics become available to buy or breed. This happens at the end of SkyPainting.

With Flying Colors[]

During this promotion, Glowbes take 50% less time for conjuring and fuzing in the Fuzer.

End of the Tunnel[]

Starting on June 20th, 2024, one week before SkyPainting started, Light Island got discounted by 50%. The promotional image also includes a teaser for an upcoming costume during the event. The costume is the Pride and Precious Fits costume for Fluoress.

A Rare Opus[]

During this promotion, Rare Whiz-bang becomes available on Light Island and Seasonal Shanty.

Art Is Love[]

During this promotion, Epic Whiz-bang becomes available on Light Island and Seasonal Shanty.

Movin' On Up[]

During this promotion, the Confettite Crystalline Castle Upgrades are discounted by 50% on Light Island.

Return the Complement[]

During this promotion, Rare Sox and Rare Arackulele become available on Ethereal Island.

Out of Season[]

SkyPainting's Out of Season Event sale happens 6 months after SkyPainting and falls in late December during Festival of Yay.

Mailbox Reward[]

Every year on either Canada Day (July 1st) or American Independence Day (July 4th), Players are rewarded with 15 Diamonds, along with the following message:

Notes[]

  • In 2023 and 2025, players receive 15 diamonds for SkyPainting on July 1, in reference to Canada Day. In 2024, the diamonds were instead sent on July 4, in reference to American Independence Day.
  • So far, none of the Monsters in the Loud and Proud sale are available on Light Island.
  • Life-Formula and SkyPainting were the third Seasonal Events to start on the same month. The first was Spooktacle and Beat Hereafter, and the second was Cloverspell and Eggs-Travaganza.
  • When SkyPainting 2023 first started, the Mailbox message for it strangely appeared in the help menu for Bone Island.
  • The art aspect of SkyPainting was planned before the Seasonal Event was created.[2]
