Strategy

As an Air (), Earth (), and Water () Monster, Scups is naturally strong against Air (), but are weak against Plant (), Cold (), and Earth (). Scups has a strong advantage against Tweedles, but a strong disadvantage against Clambles. Scups below level 15 are not good for battling Drumplers or, without the Aloof Leaf costume, T-Roxes because although Scups has a musical move unlocked at the beginning, the only elemental moves it has are Earth () and Air (), which are weak against these Monsters.

Costume Choices:

• Plug Lyfe is a direct upgrade to Far-reaching Call, providing a notable boost in damage.
• Plans for Nigel however replaces its Water () move with another Musical move. Although the move is stronger than Suctioneer, it is not good for battling Drumplers and T-Roxes because Scups although has 2 musical moves, the only Elemental moves it has are Earth () and Air (), which are weak against these Monsters.
• Aloof Leaf replaces its Earth () move with a Plant () move, which allows it to deal with Monsters that have Water (). When below level 15, however, it is not good for battling Cybops or PomPoms because although Scups has a musical move unlocked at the beginning, its only elemental moves are Air () and Plant (), which are weak against these Monsters.

Notes

• The "Plans for Nigel" costume seems to be a reference to Nigel Thornberry from the Nickelodeon cartoon "The Wild Thornberrys." This is due to both the name of the Costume and their resemblance.
  • This is also a reference to the XTC song "Making Plans For Nigel."
• The name of the "Space Ploddity" Costume references the David Bowie song "Space Oddity."
• The "Plug Lyfe" Costume references the internet meme "Thug Lyfe."
• The name of the "Shape of You" costume references the Ed Sheeran song "Shape of You."
• Update 3.2.0 permanently changed the price of many Costumes. Plug Lyfe changed from 105 Diamonds () (discounted) and 157 Diamonds (full price) to 25 Diamonds (discounted) and 37 Diamonds (full price). Plans for Nigel changed from 60 Diamonds (discounted) and 90 Diamonds (full price) to 40 Diamonds (discounted) and 60 Diamonds (full price).
