“ | By nature, the Screemu has very drab coloring, so it spruces itself up with ribbons and paint splatter. Make no mistake, these adornments are the only bright things about Screemu. This delusional Monster has no ears to hear itself and is of the opinion it can outsing an entire cache of Furcorns. | ” |

Description[]
Screemu is a Supernatural Monster exclusive to Wublin Island. It was added on May 27th, 2016 during Version 1.4.1. Screemu is obtained by being purchased in the Market for 5,000 Coins () as an inactive statue, which can be woken up by zapping all required Monster Eggs into it. It has a low currency production compared to other Wublins.
Song[]
Voice actor: Dave Kerr
Screemu sings in a way similar to Furcorn and Yawstrich, with a series of lo's, lee's and la's.
Breeding[]
Screemu cannot be bred. Like all Wublins, it is bought at the Market as a statue that must be woken up.
Powering Up[]
The allotted time to fill a Screemu in order to activate is 5 days. If the inventory is not completed in the time the Screemu resets to an empty statue and all eggs inside are lost. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]
Like other Wublins, Screemu can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 30. Screemu requires a total of 600 for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Screemu's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.
Income[]
- Main article: Wublins#Income
Screemu, like other Wublins, can produce between 39,000 and 78,000 Coins, 7,200 and 14,400 Treats, and 144 and 288 Shards. As a Monster that takes up a 2x2 grid space, Screemu produces 2 Diamonds. Wublins generate a random type of currency every 6 to 12 hours. This rate can be increased or decreased depending on Polarity.
Currency generation is calculated separately per Monster, so multiple Screemus will receive more currency, and have a higher chance overall to obtain valuable Diamonds. For maximizing income across your Wublin Island, see Wublin Island Grid Planning.
Currency Distribution[]
- Main article: Wublins#Currency Type Distribution
The Currency for Screemu is randomly selected from the 4 Currencies it can produce. The chances to get each Currency are detailed below. Datapoints are the number of recorded collections; the higher number of datapoints, the more accurate the data is.
Coins | Treats | Shards | Diamonds | Datapoints |
---|---|---|---|---|
30.43% | 33.39% | 32.71% | 3.47% | 1,183 |
Please do not edit this table. The data is taken from the Wublins page, which is derived from a joint spreadsheet. You can share your data on its talk page. Note that only large sample sizes of data are valuable.
Polarity[]
All Wublins are affected by Polarity, a mechanic that modifies their currency rate similar to happiness for other Monsters. When a Wublin is placed near another Wublin they are positively charged towards, the time to produce currency will decrease by 25%. When placed near a Wublin they are negatively charged towards, the time to produce currency will increase by 25%. The Common variants can be used instead for Rare Wublins, but the effect will be half as strong. Rare variants can fully affect the polarity of a Common Wublin.
The following Wublins affect Screemu's polarity:
Negatively affects Screemu | Positively affects Screemu |

Screemu also affects the polarity of the following Wublins:

Strategy[]
- The following section details strategy for powering up Screemu, for general strategy that can apply to any Monster, see Zapping#Strategy

Notes[]
- Screemu's name may be a portmanteau of "scream" and "emu,” a flightless Australian bird, due to it appearing to be based off of an emu.
- Screemu's name was solved by a puzzle given out by My Singing Monsters on Twitter. Those answers in this puzzle are:
SCUPS FURCORN SHRUBB SPUNGE SHELLBEAT MAW QUIBBLE
- Most of the above Monster names (except for Scups and Maw) involve Screemu to some degree. Shrubb, Spunge, Shellbeat, and Quibble eggs are needed to activate this Monster. Furcorn, though its eggs are not required to be zapped, is mentioned in this Monster's description. It may also involve Maws because neither of them are able to hear.
- Screemu's and Yawstrich's physical appearances are both similar to ratites. It is also worth noting that they have very similar sounds.
- Screemu is the first Wublin to not pick up its feet entirely during its idle animation. The second is Dermit.
- In the reveal trailer for the Wublins, you can hear Screemu very briefly near the end.
- Unless you have a Bonus Breeding Structure, or a Rare Shellbeat, it would be impossible to complete Screemu's inventory within the 5-day time limit when only using Water Island.
- Although Screemu has no ears, it uses the vibrations of the branches on its back to figure out the pitch it is singing at; the lower it sings, the fewer branches will vibrate.[1]
- Additionally, since Screemu is very easily startled, Screemu can use their branches to sense the presence of any Wublin that might be sneaking up on it.
- On August 28th, 2016, BBB posted an animated GIF with some "more research on the Wublins", consisting of some trivia about the second set of five Wublins. The facts for Screemu are:
- Expert ribbon dancer.
- Mixes its own paints using… actually, never mind.
- Shows questionable taste in home decor.
