- For the replacement of the Castle scratch ticket, see: Spin Wheel
The Scratch Ticket is one of the activities in My Singing Monsters, introduced in Version 1.1.3. Every week, players can receive one free Scratch Ticket for the Nursery, available on the five Natural Islands (Plant, Cold, Air, Water, Earth) and their Mirror counterparts, as well as the two Fire Islands (Haven, Oasis), the four Magical Islands (Light, Psychic, Faerie, Bone) and their Mirror counterparts. The gameplay of the Scratch Ticket involves a typical scratch card game, where there are six boxes to scratch and each box will reveal a different prize. Once three boxes reveal the same prize, you win that prize. All tickets are winners, and they always guarantee one prize. For more prizes each week, players can purchase additional tickets with Diamonds.
Nursery Ticket[]
Scratch Ticket Icon indicating free ticket available.
This Scratch Ticket gives you a free Egg when you match three eggs of the same Monster. This ticket can only be obtained by selecting a currently not in use Nursery on an island it is available on. It is not available for the Nurseries on Shugabush Island, Ethereal Island, the Colossingum, Magical Sanctum, Seasonal Shanty, Mythical Island or Amber Island. Selecting the Scratch icon will start the game. A red exclamation point on the icon indicates that a free ticket is available. Once a Monster egg is won and collected, it goes to the Island's Nursery and is immediately ready to hatch and be placed without the usual incubation wait time.
Additional tickets may be purchased for 10 Diamonds (
) each. This can be done either by pressing the "replay" button immediately after collecting the egg or by selecting a Nursery at a later time.

Nursery Scratch - Version 2.0.4
Nursery Scratch - Version 4.5
On March 31st 2017, 17 days after the release of 2.0.4, Eggs-Travaganza began and the tickets were temporarily changed to one free ticket every 24 hours (identical to the retired Castle Scratch Ticket) instead of once per week. The cost of additional tickets were also temporarily decreased from 10 Diamonds (
) to 5 Diamonds (
).
The same change was applied during Eggs-Travaganza 2018 from March 14th 2018 to April 9th 2018, and every Eggs-Travaganza Season afterwards.
During an unknown update, for those who are playing on iOS devices, the close button was removed from visual use. It was likely to stop players from going to other Islands to change what Monster they got. The 'rarity' of Monster was the same across Islands, so a Potbelly on Plant Island would turn into a Tweedle on Air Island. It was the same for rarer Monsters like Seasonals - which makes sense for why the developers would want to close this exploit.
Since Version 4.2.0, the Scratch Ticket started including Aux. Seasonals as Top Prizes.
Game Play and Prizes[]
The specific Monsters available depend on the Island where the ticket is being played. For example, if you play the game on Cold Island, you will not get any Monsters with the Earth Element.
Winning Single Element Monsters is generally more common than Monsters with multiple Elements. The top prizes are Quad-Element Monsters and Seasonal Monsters, which are usually available for limited time periods but can be obtained at any time of year with the Scratch Ticket. During Eggs-Travaganza, it is possible to win Rare and Epic Monsters from the Nursery scratch.

There is currently one type of Scratch Ticket involving the Nurseries, but there used to be one involving the Castles, available every 24 hours. This Ticket was also available on Shugabush Island and Ethereal Island.
This ticket could be obtained by selecting one of the Castles which was not in the process of being ungraded. Selecting the Scratch icon would start the game. A red exclamation point on the icon indicated that a free ticket was available.
Once the free tickets were used, additional tickets could be purchased for 2 Diamonds (
) each. This could be done by either pressing the "replay" button immediately after collecting the winnings or by selecting a Castle and then tapping its Scratch icon at a later time.

History[]
Version 1.3.3 change
Beginning in Version 1.3.3, it was possible to prevent Scratch Tickets from appearing immediately upon login by un-checking a box on the Scratch Ticket itself. The automatic appearance at login started sometime around Version 1.3.1.
Castle Scratch - Version 2.0.4
Between Version 1.4.0 and Version 2.0.3, the prize amount could be doubled by watching a video advertisement. A pop-up of "Increase reward! Watch a video and collect 2 times more?" would appear after pressing the collect button, meaning it was possible to earn 1000 extra Diamonds if the player had already won this amount from the ticket. As of Version 2.0.4, Keys and Relics also became available as Scratch Ticket prizes. The option to double your winnings by watching a video advertisement was also removed, being replaced by an additional ticket for watching the video.
In Version 2.1.8, the Castle Ticket was replaced with the Spin Wheel.
Game Play and Prizes[]
The following prize numbers were taken from the game's data. These were the "base values." The Coin and Food rewards scaled up as the player's level increased. The current table of probabilities was updated by BBB on March 15th 2017.
Just like in previous versions, attempting to wait for next day's Scratch Ticket if unsatisfied with the rewards would not change the prize of the ticket, as the ticket data comes from the server and not the device. Attempting to change the device's clock will confuse the game and cause it to temporarily become nonfunctional.
Prior to Version 2.0.4[]
Every ticket yielded a prize, but it was usually (about 90% of the time) low-value. Smaller rewards were much more likely than bigger ones. In addition, Coins and Treats were much more likely rewards than Diamonds in the Castle scratch game.
The following prize numbers were taken from the game's scratch-data.dat file. These were the "base values". The Coin and Treat rewards scaled up as the player's level increases.
Notes[]
- Coin and Treat prizes increased with higher player levels. Other prizes don't change.
- With the initial release of 2.0.4, choosing the option to watch a video for an additional Castle Scratch Ticket caused a forfeiture of the winnings from the first ticket, with only the winnings from the second ticket being received. By April 3rd, 2017, this was changed so that the player collected the winnings from both tickets, further benefiting the player.
- Though the Castle Scratch Ticket has been removed from the game, the image that indicated a scratch ticket's availability is now used for the Spin Wheel.
- Despite a Reedling egg holding the third prize status on Fire Haven, it is arguably of lower value than the other Triple-Element Fire Monsters on the Island, which all have longer breeding/hatching times (15 hours over 9 hours) and greater selling prices (225,000 Coins over 18,750 Coins).
- When Eggs-Travaganza 2025 came out, there was a bug where a Spytrap from the Scratch Ticket would have the chance to become a Rare variant, despite the lack of a Rare Spytrap in the game at the time.
- The game would instead give the player a glitched egg resembling a colored square, which would result in a glitched discovery screen that takes the player to the Book of Monsters.
- The name says "!" instead of "Rare Spytrap!", the class says "UNDEFINED" instead of "Rare (Magical)", and the Plant, Cold, and Light Elements were not displayed.
- After the player exited the Book of Monsters, or after the discovery screen was skipped by the player, clicking on the egg would crash the game, causing the egg to be stuck in the player's Nursery indefinitely, rendering it unusable. Once Version 4.8.0 released, all bugged eggs were replaced by genuine Rare Spytrap eggs.
