My Singing Monsters

While Scaratar may reign over the element of Poison, the serene Celestial wouldn't hurt a Humbug. The only thing that this pacifist prods with its surprisingly venomous forelegs is its instrument, whose harmonious sound echoes throughout the monster world like an antidote coursing through the body. Despite its tranquil nature, it's certainly wise not to sneak up on a Scaratar: if it pricks you by surprise, you may be left with an embarrassing case of Tweedle pox.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Scaratar is a Celestial Monster affiliated with the Poison Element and the month of August. It was added on August 29th, 2018 during Version 2.2.2. Scaratar is obtained by being purchased in the Market for 100 Diamonds as an inactive statue, which can be revived by zapping all required Monster Eggs into it. It has the same currency production rate as the other Young Celestial Monsters. The Goal for placing your first Scaratar rewards the player with 25 Diamonds.

Song[]

Audio Samples:

Instrument: Sitar

Scaratar, unlike in DoF, plays a Sitar instead of a Baglama. Unlike its Dawn of Fire counterpart, the reborn Scaratar only plays simple notes, instead of a wall of sound that could support itself. Scaratar plays in the beginning with Blasoom playing the same notes.

VSTs[]

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]

Scaratar cannot be bred. It is bought at the Market as an inactive statue that must be woken up.

Reviving[]

The allotted time to fill a Dormant Scaratar in order to activate is 9 days. If the inventory is not completed in the time, the Scaratar resets to an empty statue, and all eggs inside are lost. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]

Like other Celestials, Scaratar can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40Diamonds. Scaratar requires a total of 4,920Diamonds for all eggs to be filled.

Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.

Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Scaratar's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Ascension[]

See: Adult Scaratar

During the month of August, Scaratar can ascend to its adult form.

Income[]

Young Scaratar, like all other Young Celestials, will produce coins, treats, shards, and diamonds, but at no specified rate, although always between 6 and 12 hours.

Multiple Scaratars may produce any of these four currencies independently from each other: Coins (Coins), Shards (Shards), Treats (Treats), and Diamonds (Diamonds).

Strategy[]

The following section details strategy for reviving Scaratar, for general strategy that can apply to any Monster, see Zapping#Strategy

Players with high level Monsters and permanent Wishing Torches should avoid using a breeding combination of a Four-Element and a Three-Element Monsters to get a Three-Element Monster egg, because the chances of obtaining an Ethereal Monster that will block the breeding structure for a long time are high. Unless a respective Rare Monster is available, it is better to breed Three-element Monster with another 1, 2 or 3-Element Monster consumed by Scaratar. Here is a possible strategy listed below:

  • This strategy requires all 5 Natural and Mirror Islands, the Fire Islands, and the Magical Islands.
  • All or no Breeding Structures are assumed to be Enhanced in order to synchronize new breeding starts.

Notes[]

  • Scaratar's name is a portmanteau of scarab and sitar.
  • The little scarabs around Scaratar are presumed to be the critters on Celestial Island.
  • Scaratar, like all Celestials that represent an Ethereal Element, requires all of the Natural Monsters from its respective Ethereal's Island - in this case being Earth Island.
  • Scaratar was the first Celestial to get an Adult Form in the original game.
  • As Scaratar grows up, its eye colors seem to change; brown in its young form, one green and one brown in its adult form, and green in its elder form.
  • In Scaratar's revival animation, the glowing cracks that appear have the same positioning and shape as Torrt’s revival animation
