My Singing Monsters Wiki

Scallywag? Rapscallion? No... Mon $caggs? Oh, Scallyrags you rascal, why is your name so hard to get right? The Rascal Paironormal is an enigma wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in a vest... or a trenchcoat. Actually, it seems to be three distinct creatures stacked on top of each other? What's important is that this Big Top-hatted Monster can be big time trouble for its fellow Paironormals. A Mon of many faces, Scallyrags is a masterful manipulator able to influence precisely what kind of impression it makes on those around it. Some describe themselves curiously drawn to the dapper Monster upon first encountering it, bemused and delighted by its dainty movements. Others meanwhile experience an immediate and almost primal aversion to the Monster, wary of its eerily unsettling nature. Of course, in its Minor form, it becomes far clearer that the youthful creatures (who lack distinct names of their own) are motivated to deceive and manipulate borne of a complaint that they don't have a big enough allowance. Indeed, they could be said to be "babies with no money." How exactly the rest of the Monsters on Paironormal Carnival haven't yet gotten wise to their schemes is anyone's guess. One thing is certain, you will only see the Scallyrags that Scallyrags wants you to see.

Notes[]

  • Scallyrags' name is a portmanteau of "scallywag" and "rags".
    • It is also likely based on the word "rascal", specifically the suffix "rag" and prefix "scall", but swapped in terms of position to form Scallyrags' name.
  • Scallyrags is the fourth Monster to be voiced by a guest, with the guest being the Canadian artist bbno$. The other three are Shugabush, Shugavox, and BeMeebEth.
    • The line in the bio "they could be said to be "babies with no money."" is a reference to the artist's name.
  • Scallyrags is described as the Rascal Paironormal.
  • The first section of Scallyrags' bio plays into an ongoing joke between bbno$ and his fans, where his name is commonly misread as "bibinoss" or other variations.
  • Scallyrags' eyes do not seem to close when muted. This exclusively applies to the Major form.
    • This can hint to its Minor form.
  • Minor Scallyrags' design is a nod to the "3 kids in a trench coat" trope, with 3 Monsters coming together to form the body of the Minor form.
    • Despite its bio stating otherwise, the names of the three Monsters from top to bottom are Hatsy, Batsy and Bootsy. This was confirmed in the MSM Live Update 5.1.0 Showcase stream.
  • Scallyrags' elements are represented for the following reasons:
    • Its bio mentions it as manipulative, "controlling" the perceptions that other monsters have of it, hence the Control Element.
    • It hides the fact it is actually three monsters faking their identity as one complete monster altogether, hence the Hoax Element.
      • This includes how it can purposefully trick those with its dainty movements, yet it also causes particularly divisive views towards it.
