Strategy

As an Air (), Plant () and Earth () Monster, Reedling is naturally strong against Water () and Plant () Monsters and attacks, but are weak against Air (), Earth () and Cold (). Reedlings below level 15, without the In It to Fin It costume, are not good against Drumplers and T-Roxes because even though Reedling has a Musical Move unlocked at the beginning, its only elemental moves are Air () and Earth (), which are weak against these monsters. Reedlings are good for distracting Oaktopi, Spunges and Pummels below level 15, and Shellbeats below level 10, as they have no strong moves against Reedling. Unfortunately, Reedling has no costumes with the Cold () move, which means it misses out on dealing strong damage against a Noggin.

Costume Choices:

• Oni-rous Mask is a direct upgrade of the Musical move.
• In It To Fin It replaces Rich Register with a Water-elemental coverage move, which is more powerful than the aforementioned move. Normally, Reedling is unable to deal with Drumplers, but with this Costume, it can.
• Grassy Gnoll is a direct upgrade of the Plant move.

Notes

• One of its Costumes, "Oni-rous Mask", is a reference to the Oni, a beast in Japanese folklore.
• One of its Costumes, "Breath Tweeter", is a reference to the Death Eaters from the Harry Potter franchise, who wear similar masks. The name Breath Tweeter also rhymes with Death Eater.
• The fins on Reedling's "In It To Fin It" costume are designed to have a cutout around its ears instead of going underneath them, causing it to look odd when its ears move.
• The move Rich Register sounds like the first few notes of the ending of "Greensleeves", but is most likely the beginning notes of the Jethro Tull instrumental Bouree, which is based on the Bach suite in E minor for Lute (Bourree) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2RNe2jwHE0&ab_channel=pb12z4.
• The move Piccolo Pith sounds like the Astronomia, a remix song by Vicetone.
• At Monster level 20, the Piccolo Pith move should do 1,331 damage, but because of a rounding error, the attack does 1,330 damage instead.
• Update 3.2.0 permanently changed the price of many Costumes. Oni-rous Mask changed from 30 (discounted) and 45 (full price) to 25 (discounted) and 37 (full price).
