Description[]
The Recording Studio is a Structure available on most Islands that allows players to record and save their own renditions of the sounds of most Monsters. The Structure is exclusive to the mobile version of the game, being unobtainable on Steam.
Use[]
When the Structure is selected, pressing the "Record" button will bring up a menu with a list of most Monsters on the Island (the exceptions are Werdos on the Natural Islands). When a Monster is selected, a menu with buttons for each track the Monster has (the different sounds and animations). Pressing the Record button plays the Monster's original sound and animation, and also allows you to record your sound. Pressing the Mute button mutes the Monster whilst you record your sound.
By pressing "Revert", players can switch between the original sound and their recording. Players can also delete all of their recordings on the current Island by pressing the Clear button when selecting the structure itself. If the Recording Studio is sold, recordings will remain as before.
To assist players with timing their recordings, a metronome is enabled by default, but due to recording lag and it being off-sync or offbeat on some Islands, it is not useful.
Recordings are only stored locally on your device and not on the server, meaning that Friends cannot hear them by visiting your Island. This possibly due to the potential of people recording inappropriate and/or offensive audio. To share recordings, players have to record a video using the Recording Function or other screen-recording features on their device, and then share it online.

Notes[]
- In Version 1.3.2, a button to delete all your custom recordings at once was added to the options menu.
- The button was removed with the release of Version 4.0.0, and was replaced by the Clear button on the Structure.
- The Metronome usually runs at a speed of 70 BPM. Most island's songs in the game have this BPM. However, there are a few exceptions to this:
- Amber Island's metronome is slowed considerably to a speed of 48 BPM.
- Shugabush Island's metronome is sped up to 89 BPM.
- Fire Oasis and Celestial Island's metronome is slowed to 60 BPM.
- Faerie Island, Bone Island, Light Island, Mythical Island, and Magical Sanctum are not at 70 BPM, but the Metronome doesn't reflect this. This means the recording studio's metronome is incorrect on those islands specifically.
- Wublin Island's tempo is 134 BPM, which means the metronome is slightly off, but less noticably.
- Psychic Island's tempo is 130 BPM, which means the metronome there is also slightly off, but more noticably.
- Ethereal Island, despite being 105 BPM, is also in 3/4 time. The metronome is still correct, as it ticks every 70 BPM, but in 4/4 time. This is because 105 is 3/4ths of 140, which is a multiple of 70. The tracks are the same length.
- The Recording Studio was first teased on December 3, 2014, as a silhouette in the "Yool Holiday Special" Facebook post with the text: "and something NEW and exciting is looming on the horizon..."
- Due to Rare and Epic variants (aside from Rare and Epic Wubbox) sharing the same sounds as their common counterparts, recording a song for a Common Monster will also replace their song.
- At present, there is a bug in recording the Quibble on Air Island. When you play the first two tracks, the Quibble plays its keyboard, approximately matching the music. When you play the third track, it doesn't play its keyboard.
- A similar bug occurs with Mammott on Cold Island. When you play the first track, it sings. When you play the second track, it doesn't sing.
- There was an extra musical part for Maw on Air Island even though that part was not included in the Air Island song. Therefore, if you replaced it with your version, you could not hear any difference when you listened to the complete Air Island song. The Maw also seems to have some of itself invisible, then turns visible near the end of the track.
- This extra part was added to the song in Version 1.3.3, playing in the last two segments of the complete track - in other words, after the Schmoochle has sung, or when the Quibble switches to Track 2.
- When you warp your Time Machine, The recorded tracks will also be warped by your Time Machine.
- There seems to be a glitch where the countdown before you start recording is cut short and starts early, but the countdown to "Go" is still happening.
- Werdos, the Castle, and the Coloss-Eye cannot be used in the Recording Studio.
- In the 57th episode of My Singing Monsters Live, it was noted that the Werdos don't want to have their voices replaced as they are "far too diva-esque; they are specifically interested in singing the lyrical creations that they have devised."
- The other two things, despite adding to the song, are structures and therefore cannot be used.
- Before the Recording Studio was introduced, the concept for it was originally going to be used for Mimic, the scrapped quint element monster for the original My Singing Monsters game. However the Monster Handlers scrapped Mimic due to the fact that there were no such islands that could allow the natural five elements to breed. And so after Mimic got scrapped, its concept was later changed a little and reused for the Recording Studio.
- Recordings also does not carry over devices, even if they do share the same account.
- The codename for the recording studio is "BOBS_YER_UNCLE", this can be seen with a glitch where you tap the structure while selling it.
- The original description included the text ", and then share a video with friends", as the Recording Studio initially featured a sharing function. This was removed when the service leveraged, Kamcord, shut down.
- In Version 3.8.0, its cost was reduced from 100,000 to 10,000 , and 100 to 10
- There is a bug, that, at level 15, the game will still tell you that you have unlocked the Recording Studio. However, it will be unavailable in the market and cannot be purchased by normal means.
- Prior to Version 4.4.0, the Natural and Mirror Islands shared the same recordings.
