My Singing Monsters Wiki

It's common knowledge that the Common Withur plucks the fins of the Lyrodocus Rex to produce its Magical music, and rare knowledge that the Rare Withur prefers to utilize the bones of the creature's close kin, the Lyrodocus Regina. But if both of these specimens amount to mere fiberglass models, are we sure that the real things ever truly existed? Rare Withur assures us that they did, based on special 'soul residue' that the Monster can detect with its ultra-sensitive fingernails.

Breeding[]

Rare Withur can be bred the same way as a Common Withur. The following combinations are:

Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Withur may fail, and give a Rare Withur as a result instead of the Common Withur. This includes all of the breeding combinations that can't ever work in the usual way. In particular:

The Rare versions of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Withur and a Common Withur together. The outcome will always be a Withur and if a Rare Withur is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Withur, like all Rare Magicals are only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Withur:

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Withur eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Withur eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Withur is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]

  • Rare Withur references X-Men character Rogue.
    • Some of its default names reference the character.
    • Both have the ability to absorb the attributes of something through physical touch.
    • Both have yellow and green color schemes.
  • Rare Withur's skeletal instrument being named Lyrodocus Regina as a counterpart to the Common's Lyrodocus Rex comes from the Latin "Regina" meaning "queen" where the Latin "Rex" means "king".
  • Rare Withur bears a resemblance to a concept art Monster that was originally intended to be what would later become Rooba. Both have an orange-to-chartreuse green coloration and a similar hunching posture. Additionally, Rare Withur's orange hair buns and white arms might parallel the head bumps and bone ligaments of the concept Monster.
    • The concept in question was also retooled into Banjaw, another Bone Island Monster.
