My Singing Monsters Wiki

Most Monsters would trade an arm and a leg for a chance to improve their performance skills... the Rare Whisp seems to have done the opposite and grown some! Or maybe all Whisps have limbs tucked under their flowing, dress-like bodies and only the Rares choose to let it all hang out? Either way, these Rarethereals are convinced their elongated bodies give their singing range a boost... but in truth, their Common cousins seem just as talented.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Rare Whisp is a Double-Element Rarethereal Monster exclusive to Ethereal Island. It was added on May 12th, 2017 during Version 2.0.6. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It is bred using the same combination as its Common variant, being Ghazt and Grumpyre. By default, its breeding time is 2 days, 4 hours, and 30 minutes long. As a Rare Double-Element Ethereal, Rare Whisp has a decent Shard production, although Single-Element Ethereals are recommended.

Breeding[]

Like all other Rares, Rare Whisp is only available for breeding during short time periods announced in the game. Any combination that can produce a Whisp, can produce a Rare Whisp.

Recommended combinations:

  2. Whisp Portrait + Ghazt Portrait Whisp Plasma ElementShadow Element and Ghazt Plasma Element (or any other Single-Element Ethereals)
  3. Ghazt Portrait + Grumpyre Portrait Ghazt Plasma Element and Grumpyre Shadow Element - if you don't yet have a Whisp

Double-Element Rarethereals have a very low chance of success, especially compared to Naturals and Fire Monsters.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Whisp:

Notes[]

  • Rare Whisp was the last Rarethereal Monster to be released.
    • This may change if the Ethereal Workshop Monsters receive Rare variants, however. If that is true, then Rare Whisp would be the last Double-Element Rarethereal Monster to be released instead.
  • Rare Whisp never seems to close its mouth during its animation on Ethereal Island.
  • There was a short time during Spooktacle 2017, where Rare Whisp's textures were glitched, though this was quickly fixed.
  • Rare Whisp is one of the only Rare Monsters to have animation changes not related to additional or removed body parts. This includes squinting during its idle animation, and having a constantly open mouth, which are not seen with the Common variant.
  • Rare Whisp was the last Rare Monster to release until 2019, when Rare Stogg released.
