“ | Monsters will often adapt their appearance to match their surroundings, but less frequently, they will adapt themselves to another Monstrous denizen of their habitat. The Rare Plinkajou is a prime example of this - it has evolved multiple traits to resemble the Rare Gnarls that share its subterranean ecosystem. The dense white-grey fur that covers the Rare Magical's body is reminiscent of the texture of the Fire Rare's arboreal host of choice, and also recedes to a dark sooty grey as it reaches the extremities. Additionally, the many eyespots that cover its body call to mind the knots in the birch-Like texture of Rare Gnarls. Why the Rare Plinkajou evolved to appear this way remains unsolved, but some have suggested it's so that the Monster can disappear into the trees at a moment's notice should its collection of precious minerals be discovered. | ” |

As a Rare Quad-Element Monster, Rare Plinkajou has excellent Coin production.
On Magical Nexus, Rare Plinkajou is obtained by Transposing by spending 40 Diamonds () once fed to level 18. Its Transposing time is 2 days, 12 hours, and 30 minutes long. Unlike Bone Island, Rare Plinkajou does not produce Currency on Magical Nexus.

Breeding[]
Rare Plinkajou can be bred the same way as a Common Plinkajou.
The following pairs of Double-Element Monsters that can be used to breed Rare Plinkajou are:
However, the combination of a Triple-Element with a Single-Element Monster has a higher rate of success:
- Of these, Banjaw+Noggin is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Noggin lets you retry the combo almost instantly.
Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Plinkajou may fail, and give a Rare Plinkajou as a result instead of the Common Plinkajou. In particular:
Breeding a Plinkajou with a Fwog has an increased chance of getting a Plinkajou, due to being the breeding combo for Epic Kayna, thus having a higher chance of getting Rare Plinkajou. However, this combination may also result in an Epic Kayna if it is available.
There is also a small chance of producing a Plinkajou or Rare Plinkajou from a failed breeding attempt, using a Plinkajou and a non-Natural Single-Element Monster.
The Rare variants of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common variant. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Plinkajou and a Common Plinkajou together. The outcome will always be a Plinkajou and if a Rare Plinkajou is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Plinkajou:
- Plinkajou (requires level 9)
- Piney Tree (level 13)
- Stritch Skin (level 6)

Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Plinkajou eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Plinkajou eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Plinkajou is not required for the Celestial to ascend.
