My Singing Monsters Wiki

All Gobbleygourds are aeronautically challenged - any time you might have seen one hurtling through the air, it probably just jumped from a high height and hoped for the best. That hasn't stopped one particular rafter of Gobbleygourds from trying to improve their chances by any means possible - losing their snoods, evolving white head feathers to emulate the aquiline ideal and studying textbooks on flight dynamics. It's all wishful thinking, of course - but Rare Gobbleygourds are possessed of an indomitable will that isn't easily discouraged!

Quick Answers

What is the best combination to breed a Rare Gobbleygourd? toggle section
To breed a Rare Gobbleygourd, the optimal combination is Gobbleygourd and Monculus, as it has the shortest waiting time. Another effective combination is Gobbleygourd and Spurrit, though it has a slightly longer wait. After obtaining a Rare Gobbleygourd, pairing it with a Common Gobbleygourd can simplify the process of breeding another Rare Gobbleygourd. It's also possible to breed a Rare Gobbleygourd by pairing a Gobbleygourd with any other Monster.

How long does it take to breed a Rare Gobbleygourd? toggle section
Breeding a Rare Gobbleygourd involves a combination of Gobbleygourd and Monculus, which offers the shortest waiting time. If this doesn't yield a Rare Gobbleygourd, multiple attempts may be necessary. This Rare Seasonal is only available during its season, weekend Out-of-Season events, and the Anniversary Month Celebration. Once a Rare Gobbleygourd is obtained, pairing it with a Common Gobbleygourd can simplify breeding another.

Description[]

Rare Gobbleygourd is a Rare Seasonal Monster that celebrates the Feast-Ember season and is found on Fire Haven, Fire Oasis, and Seasonal Shanty. It was added alongside Mushaboom on May 26th, 2021, during version 3.1.1. As a Rare Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times across all islands. It is best obtained by breeding Kayna and Glowl. By default, its breeding time is 1 day, 7 hours, and 45 minutes long. Rare Gobbleygourd does not have a high Coin production.

Rare Gobbleygourd can either be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15, or bred with the same combination as its Common counterpart. Rare Gobbleygourd has a decent Coin production compared to other Monsters on Seasonal Shanty.

Breeding[]

Rare Gobbleygourd, like all Seasonals, is only available for breeding during short time periods announced in the game. It can be bred in the same way as a Common Gobbleygourd. The combinations are:

Additionally, on Seasonal Shanty, breeding Gobbleygourd with any other Monster can result in a Rare Gobbleygourd. In particular:

  • Lowest breeding time, lower chance to produce Gobbleygourd

Gobbleygourd + Monculus is the best combination, as it has the lowest waiting time in case of not resulting in a Rare Gobbleygourd. Gobbleygourd + Spurrit is also a good combination, but it has a slightly longer waiting time compared to Gobbleygourd + Monculus.

Once a Rare Gobbleygourd is obtained, breeding it with a Common Gobbleygourd can make it easier to breed another Rare Gobbleygourd.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Gobbleygourd, like all Rare Seasonals, is only available for short durations during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and during the Anniversary Month Celebration.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster of the same rarity on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Gobbleygourd:

Note: On Fire Haven and Fire Oasis, Gobbleygourd is only obtainable for a limited time, and it may not be possible to get Rare Gobbleygourd to 100% happiness.

Notes[]

  • Rare Gobbleygourd was released exactly six months after Thanksgiving Day 2020.
    • It was also the first Rare Seasonal to release in its Out of Season Event.
    • Since then, every Rare Aux. Seasonal has followed this pattern, all releasing 1 year and 6 months after their Common variants.
  • Rare Gobbleygourd’s design is based on a Bald Eagle - this may be a reference to an urban legend about how Benjamin Franklin originally wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the United States.
  • Rare Gobbleygourd was teased in a Twitter post on May 25th, 2021.
  • Although their Common counterparts have different breeding times, Rare Gobbleygourd shares the same breeding time as Rare Punkleton and Rare Hoola.
  • Rare Gobbleygourd and Epic Gobbleygourd used to have have the most letters in their name out of any other Monster name in the main game, however this changed with the release of Cruv'laaphtian Crocus.
  • When it was first made available on Seasonal Shanty, some players were unable to teleport it to Seasonal Shanty.[1]
  • In the Book of Monsters, Rare Gobbleygourd's silhouette and outline are positioned higher than its image. This is only noticeable when it is available and if players don’t have it added to their collection.
  • Rare Gobbleygourd is the only Rare Monster to have a better coin generation rate then its Epic version.
