Unlike the hydrophobic exterior of its Common cousin, the Rare Gob's dermal tissue is hydrophilic and allows for dewdrops to arrange themselves into neat configurations for later consumption. Aside from their internal organs, Rare Gobs have an active interest in multi-instrumentalism and love to dabble with whatever musical objects they find around them. Given the unique anatomy of this Rare Magical, this can be challenging... and sometimes amounts to little more than loudly singing in the direction of said objects.

Description[]

Rare Gob is a Double-Element Rare Magical Monster. It was added alongside Roarick on July 7th, 2021 during version 3.2.1. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It is best obtained by breeding, in which the combination is the same as its Common variant. By default, its breeding time is 12 hours and 30 minutes long. Although a Rare Monster, Rare Gob still does not have high Coin production.

On Magical Nexus, Rare Gob is obtained by Transposing by spending 10 Diamonds once fed to level 18. Its Transposing time is 1 day, 6 hours, 30 minutes long. Unlike Light Island, Rare Gob does not produce currency on Magical Nexus.

Breeding[]

Rare Gob can be bred the same way as a Common Gob. The combination is:

Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Gob may fail, and give a Rare Gob as a result instead of the Common Gob. This includes all of the breeding combinations that cannot ever work in the usual way. In particular:

The Rare version of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Gob and a Common Gob together. The outcome will always be a Gob and if a Rare Gob is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Gob, like all Rare Magicals are only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Gob:

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Gob eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Gob eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Gob is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]

  • Rare Gob was the first Rare Magical released on Light Island, and the first Rare Magical with the Light Element.
  • The reason Rare Gob names are based after thistles could be because of its prickly appearance.
  • Rare Gob has the shortest release between its Common and Rare counterpart out of every Rare Magical, at 273 days.
  • Rare Gob's colors are Gob's colors but inverted. From the body becoming white to black, the mouth becoming red to teal, and the light coming from its mouth when it's singing becomes orange to blue.
    • An invert filter can be used to see the resemblance.
