All Glowl nestlings are born without their tertiary tail feathers, but it is only the Rare Glowl that must develop its own alternative illumination! For generations these Rares have flown high in the endless blue sky to be nearer to the sun's rays. After innumerable journeys, they were finally enveloped from plume to pinion in the very shades of sapphire, cyan, cerulean and seafoam found in the sky above! Bathed forever in a cool-toned light, Rare Glowls are a glowing example of the union of nature and Monsterkind.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Rare Glowl is a Double-Element Rare Fire Monster. It was added on July 2nd 2020 during Version 2.4.2. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. When available, it is best obtained by breeding Tweedle and Kayna, or by purchasing from the StarShop. By default, its breeding time is 13 hours and 30 minutes long. Although a Rare Monster, Rare Glowl still does not have high Coin production.

On Amber Island, Rare Glowl can only be obtained by successfully evolving a Common Glowl that is at least level 4 via the Crucible. Its successful evolution time is 13 hours and 30 minutes long.

Breeding[]

Rare Glowl can be bred the same way as a Common Glowl. The combination is:

Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Glowl may fail, and give a Rare Glowl as a result instead of the Common Glowl. This includes all of the breeding combinations that can't ever work in the usual way. In particular:

The Rare version of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Glowl and a Common Glowl together. The outcome will always be a Glowl and if a Rare Glowl is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Glowl, like all Rare Natural and Fire Monsters, is only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events. Examples of such events:

  • All Monsters that appear on a certain Island.
  • All Monsters with a specific element.
  • All Monsters with a specific theme.
  • A seemingly random selection of a handful of Monsters.

In particular, they are likely to appear during Special Occasions.

The exception is Rare Fire Monsters on Amber Island. These are evolved in the Crucible, and are available any time after the Crucible is unlocked (by having 15 unique Monsters on Amber Island).

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Glowl:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Note: On Amber Island, all of Rare Glowl's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Rare Glowl's happiness.

Statistics[]

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Glowl eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Glowl eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Glowl is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]

  • Rare Glowl was the penultimate Rare Fire Monster to be released on Fire Haven.
  • Rare Glowl's bio references the Glowl in DoF, as it has two tails when it is young, and then gains a third one when becoming an adult.
  • Rare Glowl was initially teased on the Login Screen for Version 2.4.1.
