The rare fuchsia color phase of the Furcorn is truly a sight to behold. Like the more common green Plant-Cold hybrid, its silky pelt is cold to the touch, but not unpleasantly so - sort of like the cold side of a pillow! Unique to the Rare Furcorn, however, is the exotic flower that tips its headstalk - its shape evokes a lovely little bow.

Description[]

Rare Furcorn is a Double-Element Rare Monster, and was the first Rare to be introduced. It was added on October 10th, 2014 during the 1.3.0 2nd Anniversary Update. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. When available, it is best obtained by breeding Potbelly and Mammott, or by purchasing from the StarShop. By default, its breeding time is 10 hours and 30 minutes long. Although a Rare Monster, Rare Furcorn still does not have high Coin production.

Breeding[]

Rare Furcorn has the same breeding combination as its Common variant:

On Shugabush Island, Rare Furcorn can be bred with Shugabush and Furcorn (which may result in Shugabeats), or teleported from any other island it is found on once it reaches level 15. However, you cannot breed Potbelly and Mammott on that island.

Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Furcorn may fail, and give a Rare Furcorn as a result instead of the Common Furcorn.

The Rare version of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Furcorn and a Common Furcorn together. The outcome will always be a Furcorn and if a Rare Furcorn is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Furcorn, like all Rare Natural and Fire Monsters, is only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events. Examples of such events:

  • All Monsters that appear on a certain Island.
  • All Monsters with a specific element.
  • All Monsters with a specific theme.
  • A seemingly random selection of a handful of Monsters.

In particular, they are likely to appear during Special Occasions.

The exception is Rare Fire Monsters on Amber Island. These are evolved in the Crucible, and are available any time after the Crucible is unlocked (by having 15 unique Monsters on Amber Island).

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Furcorn:

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Rare Wublins and Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Furcorn eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Rare Wublins and Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Furcorn eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Rare Wublins have no time limit, and their egg inventories cannot be reset. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Furcorn is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

  • When version 4.4.0 released, Rare Furcorn was mistakenly placed behind Rare G'joob on the Plant Island Book of Monsters. This has since been fixed.
  • When version 4.4.0 released, for some reason Rare Furcorn's What's the Ti? costume was broken where the grass skirt was replaced with the shoe from Furcorn's 'Chaun Job costume, making it look like a bandana. This has since been fixed as of 4.5.0.
