“ | Conventional wisdom tells us not to pick at our dermatological imperfections. From skin tags to scabs, boils to warts, and ingrown hairs to zits, Rare Bulbo is unfortunately cursed with the most pickable dermis of all time. So much itching has rubbed the poor Rare raw! Now it stands before you, bare and bumpy, popping both its peepers and its pimples. And yet, there is something disarmingly beautiful in the Light hybrid's vulnerability. After all, hasn't puberty made us all feel a little like Rare Bulbo sometimes? | ” |

Description[]
Rare Bulbo is a Double-Element Rare Magical Monster. It was added alongside Hairionette, Rare Drummidary, Epic Strombonin, and Rare Cranchee on December 11th, 2024 during version 4.6.0, though it was first made available on December 18th, 2024 during version 4.6.1. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It is best obtained by breeding, in which the combination is the same as its Common variant. By default, its breeding time is 12 hours and 30 minutes long. Although a Rare Monster, Rare Bulbo still does not have high Coin production.
On Magical Nexus, Rare Bulbo is obtained by Transposing by spending 10 once fed to level 18. Its Transposing time is 1 day, 6 hours, and 30 minutes long. Unlike Light Island, Rare Bulbo does not produce currency on Magical Nexus.
Song[]

Breeding[]
Rare Bulbo can be bred the same way as a Common Bulbo. The combination is:
Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Bulbo may fail, and give a Rare Bulbo as a result instead of the Common Bulbo. This includes all of the breeding combinations that cannot ever work in the usual way. In particular:
+
Bulbo
and Blow't
- (Best choice, slight chance of getting a Blow't, may result in an Epic Whiz-bang if available.)
+
Bulbo
and Mammott
The Rare variants of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common variant. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Bulbo and a Common Bulbo together. The outcome will always be a Bulbo and if a Rare Bulbo is available at that time, it may result from this combination.
Availability[]
- For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability
Rare Bulbo, like all Rare Magicals are only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Bulbo:
- Bulbo (requires level 9)
- Optiglowbe (level 10)
- Stritch Skin (level 6)
- Babayag Tower (level 15) (

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Bulbo eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Bulbo eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Bulbo is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]
- Rare Bulbo was the last Rare Double-Element Monster to be added to Light Island.
- There's an animation change in its idle animation, where instead of its cross-eyed eyes fixating upwards, they fixate downwards in opposite directions (with its third eye being an exception), unlike its Common variant.
- Rare Bulbo's design is based on a Honeypot Ant, as their abdomens swell upon consumption of food, just like the appearance of its bulb.
- Rare Bulbo and Rare Cranchee are the last Monsters to be released in 2024.
