My Singing Monsters

Although a Bowgart's elemental affinity is usually split evenly between Plant, Water and Cold, that of the Rare Bowgart heavily favors its chilliest ingredient. Overcoming the nervous nail and lip-biting habits of its Common cousin, this Monster allows its sickled toenails and arm horns to grow to full length. Others keep encouraging it to use its claws and take up tap-dancing to complement its fine bowing skills, but for now the Rare Bowgart is sticking to what it knows best.

Description[]

Rare Bowgart is a Triple-Element Rare Monster. It was added on April 10th, 2015 during Version 1.3.3. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. It is best obtained by breeding or by purchasing from the StarShop. Its breeding combination is the same as its Common variant. By default, its breeding time is 15 hours and 30 minutes long. Although a Rare Monster, Rare Bowgart still does not have high Coin production.

Breeding[]

Rare Bowgart can be bred in the same ways as a Common Bowgart. Possible combinations are:

Because Potbelly and Maw take much less time to hatch than both Oaktopus and Furcorn, the first combination will provide more breeding opportunities in the same time period (on average). Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Bowgart may fail and give a Rare Bowgart as a result instead of the Common Bowgart. This includes all the breeding combinations that can't ever work in the usual way. In particular:

The Rare versions of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Bowgart and a Common Bowgart together. The outcome will always be a Bowgart and if a Rare Bowgart is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Bowgart, like all Rare Natural and Fire Monsters, is only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events. Examples of such events:

  • All Monsters that appear on a certain Island.
  • All Monsters with a specific element.
  • All Monsters with a specific theme.
  • A seemingly random selection of a handful of Monsters.

In particular, they are likely to appear during Special Occasions.

The exception is Rare Fire Monsters on Amber Island. These are evolved in the Crucible, and are available any time after the Crucible is unlocked (by having 15 Monsters on Amber Island).

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Bowgart:

Egg Consumption[]

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Rare Wublins and Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Bowgart eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Rare Wublins and Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Bowgart eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Rare Wublins have no time limit, and their egg inventories cannot be reset. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Bowgart is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]

  • Oddly, the Rare Bowgart's eyes change color; when inactive, they are whitish-yellow. When it is active, the eyes are a light blue color.
  • It seems that Rare Bowgart's extra horns and added spots have derived from the early concepts of the original Bowgart.
