It is well-documented in tomes of Monster botany that the Common Barrb's neck foliage blooms only in the night; but what happens when a Barrb is never exposed to direct sunlight? It blooms uncontrollably! Rare Barrbs have adapted to subterranean living by undergoing umbrasynthesis: the process of converting raw darkness into valuable nutrients. Who would have guessed a life underground would produce such bright blossoms?
Monster Bio

Description[]

Rare Barrb is a Triple-Element Rare Fire Monster that is found on Fire Haven and Amber Island. It was added on June 5th, 2020 during Version 2.4.1. As a Rare Monster, it is only available at select times. When available, it is best obtained by breeding Glowl and Potbelly. By default, its breeding time is 1 day, 2 hours, and 30 minutes long. As a Fire Triple-Elemental, Rare Barrb has decent Coin production, though Tring is recommended.

On Amber Island, Rare Barrb can only be obtained by successfully evolving a Common Barrb that is at least level 4 via the Crucible. Its successful evolution time is 1 day, 2 hours, and 30 minutes long.

Breeding[]

Rare Barrb can be bred the same way as a Common Barrb. The combinations are:

Any kind of breeding attempt which includes a Common Barrb may fail, and give a Rare Barrb as a result instead of the Common Barrb. This includes all of the breeding combinations that can't ever work in the usual way. In particular:

The Rare versions of any Monster can be used for breeding instead of the Common version. In addition, it is possible to breed a Rare Barrb and a Common Barrb together. The outcome will always be a Barrb and if a Rare Barrb is available at that time, it may result from this combination.

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Rare Barrb, like all Rare Natural and Fire Monsters, is only available for breeding and buying some of the time during special events. Examples of such events:

  • All Monsters that appear on a certain Island.
  • All Monsters with a specific element.
  • All Monsters with a specific theme.
  • A seemingly random selection of a handful of Monsters.

In particular, they are likely to appear during Special Occasions.

The exception is Rare Fire Monsters on Amber Island. These are evolved in the Crucible, and are available any time after the Crucible is unlocked (by having 15 unique Monsters on Amber Island).

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Rare Barrb:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Note: On Amber Island, all of Rare Barrb's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Rare Barrb's happiness.

Statistics[]

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Rare Barrb eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Rare Barrb eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month. When being zapped into Celestials as a Flex Egg, Rare Barrb is not required for the Celestial to ascend.

Notes[]

  • Rare Barrb was initially teased in the Login Screen for Version 2.4.1.
  • Based on their bios, both Rare Barrb and Rare Shrubb are plant-like Monsters whose colors have a practical purpose for surviving in low-light environments. Although, Rare Barrb utilizes a process known as umbrasynthesis (the process of converting raw darkness into valuable nutrients), it is not known if Rare Shrubb is capable of the same process seeing as it lives in both sunny and low-light environments while Rare Barrb resides only in complete darkness.
