My Singing Monsters

Aquatic Pummels are gill-breathers. They soak themselves regularly to suck in a fresh load of Water and seal their mouths with Plant membranes. Like Noggins, Pummels are closely in tune with the Earth.

Description[]

Pummel is a Triple-Element Monster that is first unlocked on Plant Island. It is best obtained by breeding Oaktopus and Noggin. By default, its breeding time is 12 hours long. As a Triple-Elemental, Pummel does not have a high Coin production. The Goal for placing your first Pummel rewards the player with 5,000 Coins and 50 Treats. Additionally, placing a Pummel on Gold Island for the first time rewards the player with 2,000,000 Coins.

Song[]

Audio samples:

Bass Drum (Memory Game; Plant Island):

Tom drums (Water Island):

Instrument: Concert bass drums or Tom drums

Pummel's contribution to an Island's song are different concert bass/pitched tom drums. On Tribal Island, Pummel makes an extremely fast paced bass drum fill.

VSTs[]

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]

Pummel can be bred using Monsters that combine to provide all the elements of Plant (Plant Element), Earth (Earth Element), and Water (Water Element). Possible combinations:

Of these, Oaktopus + Noggin is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Noggin lets you retry the combo almost instantly. Fwog + Potbelly is a close second, because it has low average times in case of failure.

Pummel can also be bred in breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Pummel in a breeding failure include:

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Pummel if Rare Pummel is unavailable)

(Good choice, 1% chance of a Ghazt/Jeeode)

(Good choice, slight chance of Pummel but Noggin takes 5 seconds)

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Pummel:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Monsters Who Like It[]

The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Pummel or when Pummel and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Pummel's likes as well:

Statistics[]

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Feeding Monsters[]

Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Wublins, Celestials, and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Pummel eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Wublins, Celestials, and Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Pummel eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

Notes[]

  • Pummel's name comes from the verb "to pummel", due to the fact that the Monster hits its drum with its tongues to produce its contribution to an Island's song. The word "pummel" means to strike repeatedly with the fists.
  • Pummel in the trailer of My Singing Monsters featured a beta version of Pummel. Instead of being light blue, it was solid colored and navy blue.
  • It is unknown how Pummel's two tongues pierce through its drum, even though the drum completely seals the mouth.
  • Pummel's drum is marked with a symbol that resembles the Glyphic Path, or the Psychic Element.
  • Pummel's second and fourth Tribal Island tracks have 24 beats when counting in 4/4 time, making them one of the few tracks with an amount of beats that is not a power of 2.
  • Pummel is the first Monster besides the Dipsters to have four separate Seasonal Costumes.
  • Pummel's "Rainbow Shark" costume appears to be based off of the Rainbowfish from the 1992 Children's Book The Rainbow Fish.
