“ | The PomPom grows brilliant pink plumes by eating only foods that are red. The pelt may grow to be very long. While dancing and emitting its strident cry, the PomPom is an arresting sight. | ” |

Strategy[]
As an Air (), Earth (
) and Cold (
) Monsters, PomPom is naturally strong against Plant (
) and Air (
) Monsters and attacks, but are weak against Earth (
), Water (
) and Cold (
). PomPom has a strong advantage against Dandidoos, but has a strong disadvantage against T-Roxes. PomPom has no Costumes with Plant (
) or Water (
) moves, so it cannot deal stronger damage against Maws. PomPom's Earth move unlocks at level 15, and unlike Scups and Reedling, PomPoms between levels 10 and 14 are good for battling Drumplers and T-Roxes, as its Cold move, Icebreaker, is strong against these monsters.
Costume Choices:
- Fantasy Wings, the move-altering costume PomPom can obtain year-round, replaces Pep Rally with an Air coverage move redundant with Uplifting Cheer, being weaker and removing the monster's Musical coverage. Therefore, it is not recommended to equip PomPom with this costume unless your PomPom is level 4 or under while dealing with Potbellies. When below level 10 however, it is not good for battling Riffs and their derivatives that have Earth (
), because when equipped, you don't have any Musical Moves, and the only elemental move it has is Air (
), which are weak against these monsters.
- Borg Booties, however, is a direct upgrade to Supportive Shout, providing a notable damage boost, making it the better of PomPom's two costumes. However it is only accessible to PomPoms at Level 15 or greater.
Notes[]
- When using the Fantasy Wings move, PomPom references Vitas' "7th Element". The move Borg Booties used to share an identical melody.
- It could also be a reference to Five Year Festival, an OST from Fruit Ninja.
- However, the melody for Borg Booties no longer shares an identical melody as Fantasy Wings as of an unknown date.
- The Supportive Shouts move sounds like the opening notes to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
- The Pep Rally move sounds like notes to "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".
- The Icebreaker move sounds in part like the notes to "Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice (which in turn borrowed heavily from Queen's "Under Pressure").
- In the quest Made for Walking, one particular PomPom during the final mission somehow knows the move "Oh Ossy!", which is unique to Bowgart. The move still applies Earth Damage and uses PomPom's sounds.
- Update 3.2.0 permanently changed the price of many costumes. Fantasy Wings changed from 65
(discounted) and 97
(full price) to 15
(discounted) and 22
(full price). Borg Booties changed from 125
(discounted) and 187
(full price) to 30
(discounted) and 45
(full price).
- Prior to the high-res graphics from the Steam edition being ported over to mobile, the Pom-Mohawk costume had a slight variation between versions, with its current design now looking the same across platforms.
