Poison is an Ethereal Element in My Singing Monsters that is manifested by Humbug on Earth Island, as well as Ethereal Island. On Ethereal Workshop, it is manifested by the Poison Meeb, used to synthesize monsters with the Poison Element.
Poison Element Monsters have a good amount of members that contain a form of venom inside their bodies. Many Poison Element monsters tend to have pointy body parts, like a stinger or claws.

- The Version 2.0.0 update came with a graphical facelift and changed the element icons. The appearance of the Poison Element icon changed from to .
- Each Ethereal element has a connection to the main Natural element of the Natural island it comes from. In the case of the Poison element, it has connection with the Earth Element.
- Although Poison is not present in Dawn of Fire, the Celestial of Poison, Scaratar, is.
- Poison was the fifth and final Ethereal element to be released, added to Earth Island and Ethereal Island on February 19th, 2014.
- The Poison Element icon is based on the biohazard symbol.
- Poison was the second breedable element to be added to an Island after its initial release. The first was Crystal and the third was Psychic.
- According to Monster-Handler Matt in the MSM Live 2022 Wrap-Up stream, the Poison Element is one of the most misunderstood elements. It is "all about restraint", and while Poison Monsters have poisonous compounds in them, "the choice is to not use them".
- In fact, poison produced by Monsters seems to do more good than harm, as Rare Humbug seems to actually strengthen Torchle Trees with its venom according to its bio, Oogiddy uses its poison as fertilizer for Ethereal Workshop, and poison is even used as a spice for culinary use.
- Despite this fact, Poison is the most unstable Ethereal element.
