“ | A flock of colorful birds plucking the instrument of a willing little Monster? It may sound familiar, yet the Peckidna evolved independently from the woolen Monster you know and love thanks to its unique habitat and Elemental make-up. The caring Peckidna crawls beneath the bellies of itchy-tummied giants and uses its spines to scritch and scratch away. Its shell not only provides a cozy place to get some 'me time', but also a layer of protection from any flaky skin that may fall from the Monster above! | ” |

On Magical Nexus, Peckidna is obtained by Transposing by spending 2,000,000 once fed to level 18. Its Transposing time is 1 day, 3 hours long. Unlike Bone Island, Peckidna does not produce currency on Magical Nexus.
Song[]
Audio Samples:
Vocal (Memory Game):
Marimba:
Voice actor: Chris Paulard or Sam Clark

Peckidna’ birds tap on the Monster’s spines to make a sound similar to a marimba or a xylophone. On Bone Island, Peckidna also sings “Yaah...Yatta-Yatta” in a nasally voice.
VSTs[]
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Breeding[]
Peckidna can be bred with the elements Earth () and Bone (). There is only one breeding combination:
Note that breeding a Double-Element Bone Elemental is not a guaranteed success, as with all other Fire/Magical Double-Elementals.
Peckidna can also be bred in breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Peckidna in a breeding failure include:
- + Peckidna and Plinkajou
(Good choice, very small chance of Plinkajou.)
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Peckidna:
- Hawlo (requires level 9)
- Toob (level 10)
- Mountain Morsel (level 10)
- Barbloo Statue (level 13) ()

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Peckidna eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials and Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Peckidna eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

Notes[]
- Peckidna's name is a portmanteau of the words "Peck", which the birds on its back do, and "Echidna", which is the animal the Monster is based on.
- Peckidna resembles Woolabee. This is even stated in its bio.
- Although Peckidna is officially a playbackyderm, its bio says that it evolved independently (i.e, convergent evolution) from Woolabee.
- By saying that something evolved similarly yet independently from other means that the characteristics they have in common are not provenient from a common ancestor (example: the wolf and the Tasmanian tiger).
- Taking Cherubble's bio into account, Peckidna being a result of convergent evolution might get retconned in the future.
- Peckidna is one of the few monsters to both sing and play an instrument, though it is the only one to never sing and play an instrument at the same time.
- Even though Peckidna is mostly based on the echidna, it also takes some elements of the turtle, notably its shell. In turtles, their shell is the body equivalent of a rib cage, and due to the Bone Element, this might also apply for Peckidna.
- For the Earth Element, some tortoises, like the gopher tortoise, also use their shells to dig burrows, and female sea turtles also use their shells to dig their nests in the sand of the beach to lay their eggs. However, it is unknown if Peckidna uses its shell to dig.
- Peckidna is currently the only Earth Double-Elemental Monster to not have a Rare variant.
- Peckidna's first track on Magical Nexus references "Science Blaster", the opening theme song of Game Theory.
- Strangely, unlike on Bone Island, Peckidna does not vocalize on Magical Nexus at all.
