Orb of Aklino is an animated Decoration available on most Islands for 1,250,000 Coins or 2,500 Shards. In the Market, it can be found under the Artifacts and Musical filter. It was released on September 1st, 2022 during the 10th Anniversary Month celebration. It, along with 12 other Decorations and Costumes, were designed by players that pledged for the Creator Experience for the My Singing Monsters: The Board Game Kickstarter. This Decoration was designed by Mnene T.

Sound

Decorations with the Musical type make a sound when tapped in View mode. The Orb of Aklino makes a whimsical, electrical sound, akin to those made by WALL-E.

Notes

• The Orb of Aklino was the first of all of the Creator Experience Costumes and Decorations to have its name revealed.
• The theme of the Decoration was mostly inspired by the Futuristic Zone in the 2016 revival of The Crystal Maze.
• The name “Aklino” is an anagram of “Nikola” after Nikola Tesla, who first patented the Plasma Lamp.
• Its description references two pieces of technology: the Van de Graaff generator, invented by Robert J. Van de Graff, which uses a belt to conduct electricity in a metal sphere; and the Dyson Sphere, first conceived by Olaf Stapledon, which is a hypothetical megastructure that surrounds a star to collect its solar energy.
• The Orb of Aklino resembles a 1970s-vibe 'sci-fi' piece of equipment. The features include a metallic mount similar to the mount of a globe stylised after a monster's head; pylons that sit atop the mount; multicoloured buttons & dials; and a tube that connects the segments of the mount. The multi-colour buttons and spheres atop the pylons flash in sequence. On the stem of the decoration there is a vent flap; a slider; and two wires that hang loosely, resting on-top of the base of the decoration. Inside the orb, light radiates from the central electrode in a similar fashion to a Plasma Globe.
