My Singing Monster The Board game Preview

The My Singing Monsters Board Game was revealed in The Year of the Monster Announcement on April 21st, 2021, with the kickstarter launching June 1st, 2021 and ending on June 22nd, 2021.

Description[]

In My Singing Monsters: The Board Game, players will choose from Tweedle, Mammott, Furcorn, PomPom, and Entbrat to represent them as they go from Island to Island, leveling up their abilities to be the first to cross the finish line. The game includes multiple modular expansions, allowing players to start with an easier game and build up to a full-on strategy game. This allows for beginners and more advanced board game players to be able to play the game.

The deluxe version includes 3D figurines of the playable characters, heat-transferred acrylic Element tokens, heat-transferred Island tokens, a Wubbox standee, and the Werdo expansion.

The official rulebook provided by Big Blue Bubble can be read here.

Promo Cards[]

The board game comes with over 130 normal cards featuring Monsters and Decorations. With the unlocked stretch goals via the Kickstarter, special promo cards were made and added to versions of the board game that was through the Kickstarter.

Certain Promo Cards could be chosen by the community. Each choice typically included a Concept Art card and two other cards to choose from. After June 14th, 2021, and due to popular request, the decision was made to offer all Concept Art cards as part of a new Stretch Goal ($80,000 CAD), meaning all Promo Card options after that - beginning with Oaktopus - would be a vote between the two non-Concept Art cards.

Stretch Goals[]

There are extra content that will be added if the Kickstarter reaches a certain amount of money. Goals that are bolded are ones that have been reached, while non-bold goals have not been reached. Keep in mind that this is in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Notes[]

  • My Singing Monsters: The Board Game is the first official kickstarter project for the franchise.
  • The release of promo cards was the first time that Big Blue Bubble shared concept art for Shrubb and Fwog.
    • Concept art for the two Monsters could be seen in an image posted by one of the games artists on their portfolio, though in low quality, though these concepts were not shown on the cards. However, a sketch version of the Shrubb concept appeared.
    • The same Fwog concept was also in a promo banner for the Chinese version of My Singing Monsters, Monster Choir.
