Cataliszt's names are most likely based on the Monster-Handlers' pet cats, along with other cat related words.
- "Azrael" may be a reference to Gargamel's cat from The Smurfs with the same name.
- "Beast Boy" is likely a reference to the Teen Titans Go character of the same name who has the ability to morph into any animal.
- Puss in Boots (Boots) [European fairytale. Also a character from Dreamworks’ Shrek franchise]

Anglow[]
Anglow's default names reference how it is an extra-terrestrial monster and how oceanic it looks in nature.
Anglure (Angler, lure) Anglerfish (specifically the females) have lures.
Bubbles (Bubbles) a generic name you would use for a pet fish.
Cosmoglow (Cosmo, Cosmos, glow) another reference to Anglow being something from space, and glow being that Anglow glows.
Aquazul (aqua, azul) Aqua is another reference to Anglow being the Water Island Mythical, and Azul is Spanish for blue.
Domehedd is a portmanteau of the words Dome and Head, this is a reference to Anglow's design, as in how Anglow's eyes are inside a dome.
Hyehehe[]
Many of Hyehehe's names reference characters based on jesters, as well as bugs in both the original game and Dawn of Fire.
- "mOnStErP05_nIcKnAmE_1" is a reference to its internal name, written in alternating caps as a form of mockery.
- "T-Rox" is a name of a Triple-Element Monster. It is similar to the 4th wall break, but in reference to when T-Rox first entered Dawn of Fire. Its nicknames were not imported and its only nicknames were "T-Rox" and "New Monster".
- "Lancer" may be a reference to the Deltarune character of the same name.
- Hyehehe's design includes a spade, which is what Lancer is.
- "Cleck" references an inside joke between the creator and his sister. It hasn't been revealed what this joke is about yet.
- "Iggy" likely references Iggy from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, due to Hyehehe being related to jesters/tarot cards (Iggy's Stand "The Fool" represents the tarot card featuring a jester, and Iggy himself is a dog, while Hyehehe is doglike).
- "YucKLeS" is a reference to the Thumpie of the same name (from the original Thumpie themed game).
- "Tung" references an inside joke in relation to a friend of the creator.
- Several of its nicknames reference fan-made Monsters from the My Singing Monsters community:
- "Boogley", "Cathedrocks" and "Ragtaggedy" are Monsters by QuinnQwerty, its creator.
- "Awsmask" is a Monster by Exclaim!
- Jazobell, is based on the triple elemental monster with the same name created by the user Mantisgirl, due to both monsters having a jester appearance. However, Jazobell, as in the nickname, is unused.
