“ | The Mimic has a gimmick: it can masterfully recreate the musical parts of any other Monster that it hears. Well, "masterfully" isn't exactly the word we'd use - especially not when it's still just a hatchling. It's a work in progress, but once the Mimic is a little older and the eggshell has been cast off, watch out… | ” |

“ | In addition to parroting the music of its fellow Monsters, the full-grown Mimic has another trick up its sleeve - it can shapeshift to disguise itself and take on the form of other beings! Attempts to teach this skill to other Monsters have so far proved unsuccessful. | ” |

“ | This Mimic returned from the Prism Gate forever changed! The effects of this transformation at the molecular level have 'frozen' the Air Quint in this form, effectively robbing it of its shapeshifting power. The Monster doesn't seem overly concerned, though: in fact, from its Cold breath, we'd say it's downright chill about it - extraordinary! | ” |

Description[]
Mimic is a Quint-Elemental Monster that is first available at Level 9. It is best obtained by breeding either Spunge and Drumpler or Deedge and Noggin. Its breeding and incubation time is 48 hours long. It can be teleported to Cave Island once fed to Level 20.
Song[]
Sound Sample:
Voice actor: Dave Kerr
Mimic imitates, in a mimicking manner, the sounds of one specific monster on both Islands it is on. Young Mimic imitates Bisonorus ("Dum dum dum diddly dum") on the Continent, while Adult Mimic imitates Fwog ("Wah wah wah wah") on Cave Island. It sings in a "wobbly" fashion, hence sounding slightly similar to Theremind.
Breeding[]
Mimic can be bred with the elements of Air, Plant, Earth, Water, and Cold. It can be bred with the following:
- + Shellbeat and Mammott
- + Deedge and Noggin
- + Entbrat and Tweedle
- + Riff and Potbelly
- + Quarrister and Toe Jammer
- + T-Rox and Dandidoo
- + Bowgart and Cybop
- + Clamble and Quibble
- + Pummel and Pango
- + Congle and Shrubb
- + PomPom and Oaktopus
- + Scups and Furcorn
- + Thumpies and Fwog
- + Spunge and Drumpler
- + Reedling and Maw
Of these, Spunge+Drumpler is the best combination, as it has the shortest wait time per failed attempt.
Mimic can also be bred through breeding failure. Any combination that includes Mimic and another Monster has a 50% chance to result in either Mimic or the other Monster. The best combinations include:
- + Mimic and Noggin
(Best choice, has the lowest waiting time in case of not resulting in a Mimic. 50% chance of a Noggin)
- + Mimic and Kayna
(Second best choice, 50% chance of a Kayna)
Used in Breeding[]
Mimic is used in the following breeding combinations: | |||||||||
|
Feeding Monsters[]
Mimic will request food and/or non-food items that are the products of Structures. If you cannot give the Monster the food or items it requires, you can click the New Order button. After a 15 minute wait, it will ask for a new combination of foods or other items.
Rewards[]
When given the wanted foods or items, like any Monster, it will reward you coins.
Teleporting[]
Mimic may be teleported to Cave Island. It costs 20,000 to teleport, and after teleportation it rewards 8 . Teleportation for Mimic takes 80 hours.
Prismatic Variants[]
During limited time events when Prism Gate is open and Mimic is available for transformation on Outer Islands, an adult Mimic can be transformed into one of six different colored variants.

Notes[]
- Mimic not only represents the Air Element, but also the Natural Class from the original game.
- Mimic is the only (non-Fire) Natural Monster to make its first debut in the franchise in Dawn of Fire.
- Mimic may be the very last new Monster in the franchise to have any of the Natural Elements, unless more islands are released with both Natural and brand new elements.
- Mimic is the only Quint-Element Monster that does not have the Fire Element.
- Mimic is the first and only (non-Fire) Natural Monster to be released after 2012.
- Mimic is also the first new Quint to be added to Dawn of Fire since 2017.
- It is the first Quint to be on Cave Island.
- Mimic was originally a scrapped Monster intended to be used in the original My Singing Monsters, but it later debuted in Dawn of Fire many years later.
- Mimic was originally supposed to work like the Recording Studio, but it now only mimics other Monsters for their sounds (Bisonorus on the Continent and Fwog on Cave Island).
- Mimic is the first Quint to be released with all of its potential breeding combinations available. The second one is Tuskski, the third is Bowhead, and the fourth is Gnarls.
- Adult Mimic's fan kit image had visible red rigging dots on its legs upon release, but this was quickly fixed.
- According to Adult Mimic's description, it can shapeshift into other Monsters. This can be seen happening in the release trailer for Mimic in Dawn of Fire.
- However, this trait can never be seen in-game.
- In one of the video "My Singing Monsters Live - September 2023", Mimic "could" be "seen" as a Monster-Handler (specifically, Monster-Handler Jenn in My Singing Monsters Live), once Tyson and Charlie notice something weird happening to Jenn.
- It was released on the same day as Rare Astropod.
- Mimic and Congle are the only Monsters to feature eggshells in their designs.
- Because of this, they are, ironically, the only Monsters in Dawn of Fire to feature their actual eggs in their egg designs, and 2 out of 3 Monsters if you consider the whole franchise (Blabbit features its egg rotated 90° as its "tail").
- Mimic was the first new (non-Prismatic) Monster released in Dawn of Fire in 2023.
- Mimic and Tuskski were the only two Quint-Element Monsters added to Dawn of Fire in 2023.
- In some of its unused voice lines, Mimic was going to imitate PomPom/Cybop, Reedling(?), Phangler, Fwog (on the Continent), Whaddle, and/or among other monsters.
- The eye reflection in Mimic's eyes are locked in place. However, in the main game, they move along with its pupils.
- It is the only Natural Monster to not have a cave painting.
- Mimic was the last monster to receive its Prismatic forms.
- There appears to be a pattern with the Prismatic Quints, which all the Elements of the Quints would be pushed back by two, arranged by the elements order (Air, Plant, Earth, Water, Cold, Fire).
- For Mimic, besides it representing the natural class in terms of color scheme, even though it predominantly represents the Air Element, its Prismatic forms represent the Cold Element.
