My Singing Monsters Wiki
This is the main article for Magical Nexus. For the category, see Category:Magical Nexus.

There's a being who's sure all that glitters is gold… and it's buying a stairway to heaven. Even though some facets of it appear familiar, the Magical Nexus doesn't actually belong to the Monster World proper; it hails from Beyond. The floating island is situated at the cosmic 'crossroads' of the wanderings of the Stair Shaper, an enigmatic entity that hitchhikes across galaxies searching for intelligent life with which to commune. Over the span of its interstellar travels, the Stair Shaper has recruited many like-minded beings of titanic size to its cause, and once it learned the history of the Colossals, dispatched them to integrate into the Monster World. Now, the Magical Monsters born of these unions can use Transposition to travel to the Nexus and 'meet their maker' for the very first time. At times serene, at others rousing, the Nexus' song represents a culmination of a lifetime's hopes and dreams.
In-game description

About[]

Magical Nexus is an Island where all impure Magical Monsters can be found, acting similarly to Gold Island or Amber Island but for Magical Monsters. However, it does lack the Pure Magical Monsters from the Magical Sanctum. It was added on March 26th, 2024, during Version 4.2.0.

Monsters on the Island are obtained by Transposing them at Level 18. Once a Magical Monster on one of the Magical Islands reaches Level 18, it can be Transposed to Magical Nexus for a cost.

  • Single-Element Magicals cost 2,990,040 Treats (to reach Level 18), and 1,000,000 (if Common), 5 (if Rare), or 10 (if Epic).
  • Double-Element Magicals cost 2,990,040 Treats (to reach Level 18), and 2,000,000 (if Common) or 10 (if Rare).
  • Triple-Element Magicals cost 4,485,060 Treats (to reach Level 18), and 4,000,000 (if Common) or 20 (if Rare).
  • Quad-Element Magicals cost 5,980,080 Treats (to reach Level 18), and 8,000,000 (if Common) or 40 (if Rare).

Once Transposed, the Monster is reborn on, or essentially teleported to, Magical Nexus, removing it from the Island it was originally on. Transposed Monsters cannot return to their original Islands. Additionally, note that Magical Monsters residing on Magical Sanctum (including Single-Elemental Monsters teleported there) cannot be transposed to Magical Nexus, because the Pocket Dimension is unable to interact with the Beyond[1]. However, a Magical Monster CAN teleport to Magical Nexus if it is level 18 on a Mirror Magical Island.

Common Single-Element Magicals can also be directly purchased on Magical Nexus for 1,800 .

Beds are not used on this Island, and as such, there is no Castle. The amount of Monsters you can have on the Island at a given time is limited only by physical space.

Magical Nexus’s song plays at a speed of 120 beats per minute and is in the mode of D Dorian, later switching to D Byzantine, also referred to as the D double harmonic or D arabic scale.

Magical Nexus's ambience consists of white noise with some sci-fi-esque sound effects in the background.

Strategy[]

In order to transpose all the Common Magicals you will need 125,581,680 Treats, 108,000,000 Coins and 1,018 hours (or 42 days and 10 hours) for transposition. To additionally transpose all the Rare Magicals, another 125,581,680 Treats would be needed to transpose all Rare Magical Monsters, including 540 Diamonds and 1,234 hours (or 51 days and 10 hours) for transposition.

Notes[]

  • Magical Nexus was first envisioned as a "Gold Island clone," where the Magical Monsters would simply be placed down once they reached Level 15. However, the Monster-Handlers wanted the Island to be more unique, especially since it does not take place in the Higher Plane like Gold Island.[2]
    • This also inspired the decision to make Transposition a lengthy process, since they figured players would be able to complete the Island too quickly.[3]
  • The decision to exclude the Pure Magical-hybrids from the Island was intentional, based on there being a large amount of Monsters on the Island already, and to keep Magical Sanctum separate.[4]
  • Magical Nexus is supposed to act as a "Trophy Case," to display your achievements alike to Gold Island. This time around, however, it was decided to add a system that rewarded the player for all of the hard work they put into the Island.[5]
  • Clackula and Rare Bonkers' animations on Magical Nexus were teased by Josh Harmon (who teased Gaddzooks) in a video where he makes recreations of Monster sounds utilizing real instruments or objects.[6]
  • The first sentence of Magical Nexus' bio is a reference to the Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven.
    • "Stairway to Heaven" was also the name of the official Magical Nexus trailer.
    • The sentence also contains an allusion to the Smash Mouth song “All-Star”.
  • Magical Nexus marks the first Island where the Level Feeding Requirement of a Monster to teleport/transpose is not a multiple of 5.
  • Magical Nexus was first hinted at in Epic Woolabee's bio.
    • It may have also been hinted at in Rare Fluoress' bio, in which it states that the prospect of meeting Denchuhs one day strikes it as very fulfilling.
  • When Magical Nexus released, it had an Epic Monsters page in the Island's Book of Monsters, despite no Epic Monsters actually being on the Island upon its release.
  • Magical Nexus was the first Island to release with separate pages in their Book of Monsters.
  • Magical Nexus is the only island to have ever had only 1 monster on a Book of Monsters page, being their epics page with the release of Epic Clackula.
  • Magical Nexus is the first Island since Bone Island to not release in waves.
    • It was decided to release the Island's song all at once to surprise the community.[7]
  • Magical Nexus has an association with the number 18 in the following ways:
    • Magical Nexus is available starting at Level 18.
    • Magical Nexus requires Monsters to be fed to Level 18.
    • All Single-Element Monsters on Magical Nexus cost 1,800 Diamonds.
    • Magical Nexus is the 18th island listed in the Islands menu of the Collection Book.
      • Prior to version 4.3, it was also the 18th Island in order on the Map Carousel and the Island list for Monsters. In version 4.3, Gold Island and The Colossingum were moved before Magical Nexus, while Seasonal Shanty was moved after, making Magical Nexus the 19th Island.
    • The goal for unlocking Magical Nexus rewards the player with 180,000 Treats, 180,000 Experience, and 18 Shards.
    • When Magical Nexus was first released, there was a sale that made all of the Single-Element Monsters on Magical Nexus 18% off in the Market.
    • Furthermore, adding the discounted numbers up individually (1,476 -> 1+4+7+6) makes 18.
    • The transposition times for all Monsters are their original incubation times + 18 hours.
    • Upgrading to the Augmented Nexus Nucleus costs 18,000 Shards, takes 18 hours, and rewards the player with 1,800,000 Experience.
    • An in-game Login Screen tip states, "The number 18 seems to hold special significance to the Stair Shaper - you'll see it reflected in many aspects of life on Magical Nexus."
    • An update to the Nexus Nucleus was released on June 18th, 2024.
  • Of the 32 Common Monsters on Magical Nexus, only 6 contribute to the song vocally (Fluoress, Theremind, HippityHop, Wimmzies, Cantorell, and Denchuhs), making it the Island with the lowest percentage of vocalist monsters at 18.75% (6 out of 32).
    • Out of the 6 of them, though, Cantorell is the only one that sings in only one verse.
    • Peckidna is both a vocalist and instrumentalist on Bone Island, however, it does not contribute vocally to Magical Nexus.
    • Mech Islet has the fewest vocalists of any island. However, its vocalist percentage is 23% (3 out of 13).
  • The design of Magical Nexus has statue heads on the left, representing the Magical Island Titans. (from left to right) Cruv'laapht, Faesodd, Necrull, and Phosphora.
    • This also happens to be the order in which the core Magical Islands released.
  • Magical Nexus was the last Island added to the carousel-styled Map design, due to the current map releasing shortly after, with Update 4.3.0 on May 15th, 2024.
  • Magical Nexus has all of the Natural and Fire elements except for Air, since no Magical Monster has that element.
  • Magical Nexus is the second island in the franchise in which all possible Monster placeable tiles are connected to each other, with the first being Space Island. It is also the only Island in the main game without any additional platforms in the back of the island.
  • It was revealed in the 4.2 My Singing Monsters showcase that the patterns that appear on the island were designed with the idea that all four Single-Element Magicals would be situated in the middle of each ring.
  • Interestingly enough, there are 3 1×1 tiles directly behind the Nexus Nucleus that are counted as invalid, despite not appearing red like other invalid tiles. This is likely due to the fact that, since you can't move the Nexus Nucleus, Monsters are susceptible to being stuck behind it.
  • The sentence describing the Stair Shaper as “an enigmatic entity that hitchhikes across galaxies” may be an allusion to “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”.
  • Unlike most islands in which monsters can’t be leveled up, monsters on Nexus are in their Level 1 size as opposed to their level 15 size.
