“ | The marvelous Larvaluss is far-flung from any large body of water... unless you count the sea of stars twinkling above in the sky of the pocket dimension! Still, it feels right at home on the Sanctum, where it revels in the company of its fellow Magical Monsters and uses its music to whisk them off to slumberland. What appear to be strings are actually nostril hairs extending from the nose of Larvaluss, which is hidden somewhere in the mess of 'furthers' on the back of its head. Tuning can be a bit of an issue when the Monster's sinuses act up. | ” |

Description[]
Larvaluss is a Triple-Element Magical Monster exclusive to Magical Sanctum. It was added on April 28th, 2021 during Version 3.1.0. It is best obtained by breeding Osstax and Theremind. By default, its breeding time is 1 day and 6 hours hours long. As a Triple-Elemental, Larvaluss does not have a high Shard production. The Goal for placing your first Larvaluss rewards the player with 5 .
Song[]
Audio Sample:
Instrument: Koto
Larvaluss generates the sounds of the koto, the Japanese zither. Curiously, there are low notes in its track that cannot be played using its identified VST, which could possibly come from another string instrument, or could simply be an edited koto sound.
VSTs[]
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.
- Main instrument
VST: PLAY
Sound library: EastWest Goliath
Path: Ethnic Pitched
SoundFont: Koto
The VST for Larvaluss's secondary instrument has not yet been found.
Breeding[]
Larvaluss can be bred using a combination of the Psychic, Faerie, and Bone elements. Possible combination(s):
- Of these, Osstax+Theremind is the best combination, as it has the shortest wait time per failed attempt.
Larvaluss can also be bred in a breeding failure. Some combinations that result in a Larvaluss in a breeding failure include:
- + Larvaluss and Enchantling
(Good choice, very small chance of getting Enchantling)
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Larvaluss:
- Déjà-Jin (requires level 9)
- Harpsitree (level 14)
- Jarhead (level 21)
- Barbloo Statue (level 13) ()

Notes[]
- Larvaluss's name appears to derive from a combination of "larva" and "Vellus", a type of hair, possibly referencing the hair it uses for its instrument.
- Its name may or may not intentionally rhyme with the word "Marvelous".
- Larvaluss and Withur are the only monsters to play the koto.
- Larvaluss was the first Triple-Element to have two combinations unlocked when it was first released on Magical Sanctum.
- During Episode Six of My Singing Monsters: Fandemonium, Mammott stated that "a future undiscovered Monster on a certain recently discovered island may hold the clue", referring to future Mythical Monsters. Larvaluss was the next Magical Monster to be released after this claim, though it was unknown as to whether or not the statement applied to Larvaluss in particular.
- It was later revealed that this was referring to G'day, who was not known about at the time.
- Larvaluss has some similarities to Humbug. They are both insect-like Monsters who make the sounds of a stringed instrument.
- Larvaluss has the longest breeding failure time out of any Triple-Element Monsters, as all of the Monsters that are used in its combinations take three or more hours to breed.
