Over the course of its multiversal sojourns, the Fire Haven Mythical has had the opportunity to observe and partake of various cultures and civilizations. It's particularly interested in folklore, but there's one legend that has gripped its imagination from the first moment it heard it - that of the Knurv. Known by another name in its native dimension, tales relate that this 'bogeyMon' of sorts extends its elongated optic nerves to spy on others without their knowledge. On Mythical Island, it has been reimagined using dreamcraft as an enthusiastic musical performer; using its optic nerves not for spying, but for creating captivating melodies reminiscent of its Mythical creator.

Description[]

Knurv is a Dreamythical Monster exclusive to Mythical Island. It was added alongside Buzzinga, Epic Jam Boree, and Gold Island Epic Wubbox on September 6th, 2023 during Version 4.0.0. It is best obtained by breeding Cataliszt and Buzzinga. By default, its breeding time is 1 day and 8 hours long. Knurv has a very high Coin production compared to other Monsters on Mythical Island. The Goal for placing your first Knurv rewards the player with 10 Diamonds.

Song[]

Audio:

Instrument: Yaylı tambur

Knurv makes a sound similar to a yaylı tambur, a Turkish long-neck lute.

VSTs[]

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. To breed Knurv, you need to breed Cataliszt and Buzzinga. Note that it is not a 100% success rate, but the chances can be increased with Wishing torches.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Knurv:

Notes[]

  • Knurv's name is derived from the word "nerve", referring to the Monster's extendable optic nerves.
    • Since the "k" is silent, its name also has the same pronounciation as "nerve".
  • It is heavily implied that Knurv is the Connatruna from the Cave Crystal dimension.
    • Its bio states that it is "known by another name in its native dimension."
    • Its Mystery Like is the Cave Crystal Teleporter.
    • In the Update 4.0 Showcase video, Monster-Handler Matt placed a Knurv in front of the Cave Crystal Teleporter, and coyly claimed that the action "surely has no significance."[1]
    • The Cave Crystal Teleporter can be seen faintly overlaid onto the moon with the Mythical sigil, in a release promo for Buzzinga.
    • One of Knurv's default names is "Connatruna."
  • Knurv was the last Dreamythical to be released during Anniversary Year, and the last Dreamythical to release overall.
  • Like other Dreamythicals, Knurv's income at Level 1, which is 10,906 Coins, is a reference to its release date.
  • On release, there was a glitch when breeding Knurv, where breeding it would strangely always be successful without a single chance of failure. This bug was later fixed.
  • As seen in "Singing Monsters - "Behind the Trailers I Monster Mishaps Part 2" with Monster-Handler Ben", Knurv has a face under its mask that is not shown in-game.
  • Knurv, alongside Buzzinga and Epic Jam Boree, were the first Monsters to be released in Version 4 of My Singing Monsters.
  • Knurv's name is similar to one of Theremind's possible Monster names, that being Nurv.
  • According to Monster-Handler Tyson on an episode of "Quick Questions," if laid out in a straight line, Knurv's optic nerves would measure to about 17 feet each, or 5 meters.[2]
