| “ | The ancient Kayna was long thought lost to an enigmatic event in Monster antiquity. A solitary specimen encased in amber was rescued on Tribal Island. It's true, but only recently did a new generation of these beings begin to appear, beckoned by the mysterious call of Relics resonating deep within the world's volcanic core. Now this feisty Fire Elemental is ready to play its part in restoring the glory of its powerful Element in the Monster World. | ” |
| — Monster Bio on Fire and Magical Islands |
| “ | This unknown species has been encased in amber for who knows how long! Let's see if the vibrations of the Tribal song can weaken its hold and release it! Now that you mention it, there's something familiar about this Monster... like it's been seen before, a long time ago... | ” |
| — In-game description before unsealing on Tribal Island |
| “ | No discovery has shaken the Monster World quite like that of the Kayna, and with its release, the rekindling of the lost Natural Element of Fire. After becoming reacquainted with its fellow Monsters, this spirited being had a lot of exciting stories and information to share, including remembrances of an earlier time when the Monster World was new and joined together in great harmony. The effect of the amber took quite a toll, though, so you'll need to keep the Tribal song alive by feeding your Monster if you want Kayna's voice to join in! | ” |

Description[]
Kayna is the Single-Element Monster of Fire, and is first unlocked on Fire Haven or Tribal Island. It was added on August 6th, 2015, during the 1.3.5 Tribal Island update, as a special Monster only unlocked at Tribal level 100. It was later added a full-fledged Monster on November 21st, 2018, during the 2.2.4 Fire Haven update. It is obtained on Fire and Magical Islands by purchasing in the Market for 10 Relics (
). On Amber Island, it must be revitalized by zapping eggs after being purchased as a Vessel for 5 Relics (
). By default, its incubation time is 7 hours long. As a Single-Elemental, Kayna does not have a high Coin but it has high Relic production per bed. The Goal for placing your first new Kayna rewards the player with 10,000 Coins (
) and 1 Relics (
).
Song[]
Audio sample:
Voice actress: Sarah Parsons
Kayna usually sings "dum diddly dum" or "bum badadadum," with the exception of Psychic Island.
Kayna's contribution to the Tribal Island song is a repetitive phrase similar to the Furcorn or Tweedle, starting with "Bum badadadum" and repeats "badadadum" over and over again. It occasionally sings "badadadah." It plays alongside Dandidoo, Reedling, and Spunge.
On Fire Haven, Kayna sings a tune similar to its song on Tribal Island. It plays alongside Floogull and Glowl. It sings "dum badadadum badadadum, badada dum dum dum dum dum, badadadum badadadum, badada dum dum dum dum."
On Fire Oasis, Kayna sings alongside Wynq and Cherubble after Tweedle and Glowl sing a duet. It sings "Dum diddly dum dum, dum diddly dum dum, dum diddly dum dum duuuum! Dum diddly dum dum, dum diddly dum dum, dum diddly dum dum dum."
On Light Island, Kayna sings "Dum diddly dum dum dum dum" in different tones throughout the entire song.
On Psychic Island, Kayna sings alongside Phangler and Oaktopus. It sings "Daaaaaa, daaaaaa, da. Da, daaaaaaaaaa, daaaaaa, da. Da, daaaaaaaaaa, daaaaaa, da. Da, daaaaaaaaaa" in a sort of whimsical tone.
On Faerie Island, Kayna sings in a way similar to its sound on Fire Oasis. It sings near the end of the song after Cantorell and HippityHop. It sings "Dum diddly dum dum, da dum duuuum. Dum, dum, diddly dum dum, dum duuuuuuuum." It sings this in a mesmerized voice while doing a dance and lifting its feet.
On Bone Island, Kayna sings on its own at first, before being joined by Toe Jammer and Fwog. It sings "Bum badadadum bum bum badadadum bum bum badadabum bum bum badadadum" twice during its parts, with the second time sounding a pitch higher at the end than the first.
On Amber Island, Kayna sings for the beginning with Glowl, Thrumble, and Ziggurab. It continues on into the part with Yelmut and picks back up during Sooza's second track. It sings "Ba-da-da-dum-dum-dum, ba-da-da-dum," gradually lowering in pitch, and the second part is "Ba-da-da-dum, ba da-da-dum-dum-dum."
Breeding[]
Being a Single-Elemental, Kayna has no specific breeding combination. Instead, it is purchasable in the Market at level 9. On Tribal Island, it is unlocked after the tribe has reached level 100. On Amber Island, it must be bought from the Market as an inactive vessel that must be woken up. After a Kayna is owned, another Kayna may be bred as a result of breeding failure while trying to breed a Kayna with another Monster. Although any other Monster may be used, combinations using a Quad-Elemental will result in a Kayna almost every time. However, unlike with Natural Singles, these combinations still have a chance to result in a Quad Elemental. Examples of this include:

The Rare variant of any breeding Monster can be used instead of the Common variant; and much like most Rares, a Kayna can breed with its Rare variant, which will always result in another Kayna. Also note any combination with Kayna will never result in a Rare Kayna.

Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster of the same rarity on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Kayna:

Revitalizing[]
On Amber Island, Kayna must be powered up rather than being bought awakened. Unlike other Vessels, Kayna is always available and its inventory will never expire.
Filling In[]
Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Kayna can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40
. Kayna requires a total of 5,200
for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Kayna's inventory with 1
per egg. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.
Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's level also increases this limit.
Fire/Magical Islands[]
Amber Island[]
When collecting from Kayna, you will only receive the whole number of Relics generated.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.
| The Treats per level table: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
More info can be found in the Feeding article. Kayna cannot be fed on Tribal Island, and it is already at level 15 size when released.
Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials and Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Kayna eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.
Kayna |
|
Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials and Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Kayna eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Awakened Celestials only accept eggs during their corresponding Celestial month.

Notes[]
- Kayna's name is derived from the African country "Kenya," and the word "volcano."
- Kayna could be seen in a video about Diane's visit to Big Blue Bubble, 1 month and 3 days before it released.
- Kayna on Tribal Island is the only Monster that cannot be muted. It can, however, be muted on all other Islands it's on.
- If the player's Tribe reaches level 100 while the player is on Tribal Island, then an animation will play, showing the Amber slowly cracking and eventually exploding, revealing Kayna.
- This can also be seen when the player enters Tribal Island after level 100 is reached.
- The sound of amber being cracked open was introduced in version 1.4.0.
- Kayna is not technically a Monster on Tribal Island. The game client handles it as a Castle. Although as of the 2.2.4 update, Kayna is a Monster on all other Islands it appears on.
- Despite making its debut on My Singing Monsters, Kayna was actually made for Dawn of Fire first.
- In the game "Jammer Splash," Kayna is a 'power-up.' Kayna will launch a bomb out of its head and destroy anything on the board in an area of 3x3.
- Among the Wublins, the Celestials, and all Amber Island vessels, Kayna is the only Monster that requires an inventory of eggs to be zapped to have no time limit before having to reset.
- Kayna is the only Fire Monster whose vessel inventory on Amber Island does not require any Fire or Magical eggs. Additionally, Kayna is the only Fire Monster whose vessel inventory requires Natural Single-Element Monsters.
- Every other Monster on Amber Island requires Kayna eggs in its inventory. All of the other Fire Monsters need two Kayna eggs, while Viveine needs four Kayna eggs.
- Kayna and Rootitoot were the first Monsters on Amber Island to be able to achieve 100% Happiness.
- During Kayna's Faerie Island track, you can hear a very faint scrapped Floogull sound near the start and end of the track. This is a remnant of when Faerie Island was a Fire Island and it would've had the Air Element instead of the Faerie Element. You can also hear an extremely quiet scrapped Scups sound on Kayna's Bone Island track when it was a scrapped Fire Island that would also have had the Air Element rather than the Bone Element.
- A bug happened where Kayna would sing but could not be heard during the beginning of it and Wynq's Fire Oasis verse.
- Kayna is the only one of the original 6 Single-Element Monsters that cannot be placed on Gold Island. This is because it has the Fire Element, and no Fire Monsters can exist on Gold Island.
- Kayna's Vessel costs the most Diamonds to fill out of any Monster on Amber Island. This is because, aside from having a huge and tedious egg requirement, its Vessel lacks a time limit and is always available, and thus, encourages the players to fill it with eggs rather than with Diamonds. Another reason is to discourage players from using only Kayna to instantly fill up all of Amber Island as a way to farm Relics.
- Kayna did not initially have its own egg until version 2.2.4.
- Kayna's "Halleberry Heat" Costume is based off of the Halleberry, a type of tree and berry from Greatfruit Grove.
- When version 4.8.6 released, Kayna's Playground Frostbite and Light-Bright costumes became glitched to where its pupils were missing, its mouth used the wrong sprites, and its shadow became smoke.
- These glitches were fixed on August 12, 2025, however, the Playground Frostbite costume ended up using the wrong eye color instead of the intended white. This was later fixed.
