| “ | Each morning, the Jerm reflects on the passage of time… when perfectly on cue, something flits by its ear to remind it that it's not alone. It's never alone, in fact. Ever. The Cycle Paironormal exists in a state of constant genesis, effluxion, consumption, and regenesis. The fruiting bodies pocking the abdomen of Jerm gradually sap vitality from the main body, enervating the Monster, before expelling themselves in a flourish of whirlygigs. This process, while quite unusual, is a natural part of Jerm's lifecycle - and it's a delightful sonic experience to witness! These bodily expulsions germinate, grow, and eventually re-incorporate, or subsume the original Jerm body, forming the Monster anew. Jerm's auto-cultivation serves to harmonize the Monster's form, spirit, fortune and misfortune. Eventually, an ambitious excrescence will latch onto the Jerm's body, robbing it of the control it once had to fly freely. Cycles this Paironormal must continue to undergo in its Minor form lead to its despondent expression, probably due to the fairly uncomfortable process of pushing out soggier fruiting bodies in an ever-hardening abdomen and all over its underside where the 'tree' is attached. The circle of life can be beautiful, and sometimes very, very gloopy. | ” |

Song[]
Audio Sample (Major):
Audio Sample (Minor):
Instrument: Lute
Jerm contributes to the song by having its seeds drop out and play a lute-like sound. In Major form, the seeds fall slowly and swirl, drawing out the notes, while in Minor form they fall quickly, creating only one short note.
VSTs[]
- Main article: VSTs
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Sound library: EastWest Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra
Path: 3 Lutes
Preset: 3 Lutes KS Master
Breeding[]
Jerm can be bred using a combination of the Control, Hoax and Ruin elements. However, not all combinations are currently available due to other monster elemental configurations not existing yet, such as the Control-Ruin Paironormal, which means it and Owlesque is unavailable to use. Possible combination(s):

Notes[]
- Jerm is described as the Cycle Paironormal.
- Jerm's idle animation can't be seen normally as it plays throughout the entire song on both Major and Minor Modes of Paironormal Carnival. However, Jerm's idle animation is visible in the Book of Monsters and Market. This also happens to Loodvigg, Creepuscule and Knucklehead.
- Its name is a shortening and corruption of the word "germination".
- Jerm is currently the only Triple-Element Monster with two possible breeding combinations. This will change when the Control-Ruin Paironormal is added.
- Jerm's design seems to take inspiration from the seed pods of a lotus.
- In addition to this, Jerm's seeds are based on those of a maple tree.
- Much like Rootitoot, Sooza, and Frondley on their Breeding Islands, Jerm was the only Triple-Element Monster to be released with Paironormal Carnival.
- Jerm's Book of Monsters and promotional renders use a different, more saturated lime color for its seeds than shown in-game, where they're more teal.
- Jerm's elements are represented for the following reasons:
- The seeds it produces end up latching its own body, robbing it of its own flight and vitality, hence the Control Element.
- It appears to have a delightful time producing its seeds, but in reality, it shows desponsiveness in the actual process of its cycle. It shows the harsh reality in how a cycle is undergone, hence the Hoax Element.
- Jerm has a life cycle, consisting of genesis, effluxion, consumption, and regenesis. Its life cycle repeats with its own seeds sapping away its own life endlessly of falling into "ruin", desponsiveness itself, hence the Ruin Element.
