| “ | The reborn Hornacle boasts two barnacle-encrusted legs, unlike its conspicuously peg-legged form of yore. Water Elementals revel in exchanging tales at sea of how the Celestial lost its leg. A tangle with an aquatic beast? An unbreakable curse? Only the deep-sea dweller itself knows the truth; not that it will ever share its story, of course. It's much too embarrassing. | ” |

Description[]
Hornacle is a Celestial Monster representing the Water Element and the month of January. It was added alongside Glaishur, Blasoom, Torrt, and Attmoz on June 27th, 2018, during version 2.2.1. Hornacle is obtained by being purchased in the Market for 12 Keys (
) as an inactive statue, which can be revived by zapping all required Monster Eggs into it. It has the same Currency production rate as the other young Celestial Monsters. The Goal for placing your first Hornacle rewards the player with 12 Diamonds (
).
Song[]
Audio Sample:
Instrument: French horn ensemble
Like its elder counterpart in Dawn of Fire, young Hornacle's sound consists of multiple layers of French horns. Unlike in Dawn of Fire, it plays many short, staccato chords instead of long, legato chords to match the vibrant and upbeat tone of the Celestial Island song.
To play Hornacle's part, play these notes and repeat:
C C C Db C, C C C Eb C
VSTs[]
- Main article: VSTs
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.
VST: Kontakt 6
Sound library: Kontakt Factory Library 1
Path: Orchestral > 3 - VSL Brass
SoundFont: French Horn Ensemble
Breeding[]
Hornacle cannot be bred. Like all Celestials, it is bought at the Market as an inactive statue that must be woken up.
Reviving[]
The allotted time to fill a Hornacle in order to activate is 12 days. If the inventory is not completed in time, the Hornacle resets to an empty statue and all eggs inside are lost. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]
Like other Celestials, Hornacle can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40
. Hornacle requires a total of 4,720
for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Hornacle's inventory with 1
per egg. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.
Income[]
Hornacle, like all other Celestials, will produce Coins, Diamonds, Treats, and Shards, but at no specified rate, although always less than a day.
Multiple Hornacles may produce any of these four Currencies independently from each other: Coins (
), Shards (
), Treats (
), and Diamonds (
).
Strategy[]
- The following section details strategy for reviving Hornacle, for general strategy that can apply to any Monster, see Zapping#Strategy
Hornacle should be powered up with at least Water Island unlocked. It can be powered up faster with more Islands unlocked, with Bonus Breeding Structures, or Enhanced Breeding Structures. The first strategy requires zapping eggs twice per day, once in the morning and once at night. Before zapping your first egg, make sure you already have bred your first batch of eggs to zap. On the sixth day, you only need to check in once, and on the seventh day, you need to check in six times. For the last day, you only need to zap Toe Jammers, which can all be done in one sitting.
If you have all Islands up to Water Island, breed:

Notes[]
- Hornacle's name is a portmanteau of "horn," a group of instruments, and "barnacle," an oceanic creature which it appears to be covered in.
- Hornacle was one of the first 5 Celestials introduced on Celestial Island.
- Coincidentally, the month that it officially represents is January, which is the first month of the year.
- During Hornacle's first release, it was discounted for two weeks at 33% off.
- Hornacle had been discounted by 20% from July 26th, 2018 to August 6th, 2018 for 30 days, since the day Syncopite was released.
- Hornacle is the first Celestial in the Dawn of Fire Yearly Star Chart, although in the original game, Hornacle is instead one of the first five available.
- Hornacle "was said to have been formed from a wave that swelled and crashed across the void (following the Big Bang that disrupted the Primordial Cosmic Hush), and which later formed The Living Ocean."
- Hornacle seemingly does not get hurt or feel pain, seeing as it had nailed a wooden plank to its head in the Celestial Ascension trailer, and how adult Hornacle has a fish hook and several piercings in its head.
- Prior to version 5.0.0, all Celestials cost Diamonds in the Market. Hornacle's price was 120 Diamonds (
).
