It's every Singing Monster's dream to one day vacation on the glorious Gold Island. Only the most experienced (and well-fed) among them ever get the opportunity to join in its resounding anthem, which celebrates Monsters and music of all kinds!

About[]

Gold Island Gold Island is the culmination of the five Natural Islands, allowing all Natural Monsters, the Core Seasonals, the Wubboxes, Jam Boree, and Shugabush to come together and sing. Gold Island is available at level 6 for free, after purchasing Cold Island. Only level 15+ Monsters from the Natural Islands may be placed on it. Gold Island was first released on November 27th, 2012.

Gold Island exists in a different dimension from the Natural Islands, which is what enables the Monsters to inhabit both their own native island as well as Gold Island. A Monster's level, and its name, are the same on both islands because it is the same Monster. Selling a Monster on their native island will remove it from Gold Island as well. Any Monster boxed on their 'home' island, or Teleported to the Colossingum, Seasonal Shanty, or Shugabush Island, will also be removed from Gold Island.

The Monsters on Gold Island do not give currency and cannot be fed. You cannot buy Structures or Decorations on Gold Island, and there are no obstacles to remove.

Invite new gold island monsters

A list of some capable Level 15 monsters to Gold Island

Most Monsters can be placed on Gold Island once they reach level 15. These include:

The Rare and Epic variants of these Monsters can also be placed on Gold Island.

Excluded Monsters[]

Aux. Seasonals, Ethereals, Mythicals, Magicals, Werdos, Dipsters, Wublins, Celestials, Fire Monsters, and the rest of the Shugafam. The latter two, however, are not listed on Gold Island's Help Menu, probably due to an oversight.

Additionally, Natural Monsters, Core Seasonals, and the Shugabush can't be placed on Gold Island if they don't reside in a Natural Island. The Wubbox, however, can also be placed on Gold Island if it resides on Ethereal Island, but not if it resides on Fire Haven.

According to Monster-Handler Matt on My Singing Monsters Live of April 19th, 2023, the Higher Plane is selective of which Monsters can be there and where they can be. This is further suggested by Amber Island's Help Menu saying that "Amber Island is the fated home of Fire Monsters on the higher plane, and as such they do not belong on Gold Island" as an explanation for Fire Monsters not being placeable on Gold Island.

This probably explains why many Monster species can't be placed on Gold Island despite its bio saying that "It's every singing Monster's dream to one day vacation on the glorious Gold Island" - it's because they are either not allowed on the Higher Plane, or because they have their own separate place on the Higher Plane that isn't Gold Island.

Placing Monsters[]

When Monsters are placed, they remain on their 'home' Island still generating currency there, unless they are boxed into a Wubbox, in which case they are permanently removed from both Gold Island and their home Island. Monsters on Gold Island do not generate any currency, nor do they require feeding or decorations to increase their Happiness - they just sing. Monsters on this Island can also be muted, and are able to have their volumes changed as with any other Island. Monsters that are Biggified on their home Island will appear biggified here as well. If a Monster is boxed, sold, or teleported on its home Island, it will disappear from Gold Island.

Even Monsters which are in a Hotel Structure on their home Island, can also be placed and will sing on Gold Island.

Song[]

Gold Island

Composer(s): Dave Kerr, Tom Meikle (Jam Boree, Epic Wubbox)

The full Gold Island song is available on iTunes for download. The melody of Gold Island's song is based on Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D in a large portion of the first chord progression.

Going along with this theme, the main melody in the beginning section of the Gold Island song is in the key of D Major. As the song progresses, the song's key later switches to E Minor and then to an E minor harmony. The song plays at 140 BPM, in the 4/4 time signature.

Gold Island has an ambience that consists of piercing wind.

Song Table[]

This is a chart that shows where each Monster plays in the song. Each part is 16 beats long. The number next to each Monster indicates which track is being played at each part.

T means the parts when Epic Wubbox transitions into its next phase.

Castle Upgrades[]

There is only one type of castle, the Crystal Castle, which has unlimited beds.

Strategy[]

  • Monsters do not earn/produce Currency on Gold Island.
  • The total amount of food needed to teleport all 67 (with Wubbox-placed monsters) unique monsters (excluding the rare versions) that can be placed on Gold Island would be an astounding 38,663,880 Treats, which would take 1,857 total hours to bake, and the total amount of coins would be 386,638,800 Coins, which is ten times the food amount.
  • The total amount of food needed to teleport all 133 Common and Rare monsters (with Wubbox-placed and Rare Wubbox-placed monsters) that can be placed on Gold Island would be an astounding 76,017,120 Treats, which would take 3,651 total hours to bake, and the total amount of coins would be 760,171,200 Coins, which is ten times the food amount.
  • The total amount of food required to teleport all 168 possible monsters (including the Epic versions, Wubbox-placed and Rare Wubbox placed) that can be placed on Gold Island would be an astounding 92,400,120 Treats, which would take 4,438 total hours to bake, and the total amount of coins would be 924,001,200 Coins, which is ten times the food amount.

Notes[]

  • Gold Island was launched in the Version 1.1.0 Update on November 27th, 2012.
  • Although the island's description says that "It's every singing monster's dream to one day vacation on the glorious Gold Island", not all the Monsters can be placed there.
  • The Market can be accessed on Gold Island with a glitch involving using an ad with the market button, however placing structures or decorations will not be final, as when you reload the island the decorations and structures will be missing.
    • The Currency section of the market can be accessed by tapping the currency bars.
  • Golden depictions of the Fire Bush and the Dragoon Statue are noticeable as part of Gold Island, as well as a golden statue of a Barbloo playing a harp.
  • The Crystal Castle, like the Castle on Shugabush Island, does not produce a bass sound. While on Shugabush Island it is due to Shugabass, on Gold Island it's been confirmed that wind does not blow in the Higher Plane. Canonically, wind needs to blow through a Castle's windows in order for it to produce sound. It's also likely due to the fact that the castle cannot be upgraded on Gold Island, which is another condition for the castle to make a bass sound in terms of gameplay. This also applies to Amber Island.
  • Once an active Wubbox is removed from Gold Island and replaced again, the Wubbox in the waiting list goes back to the dormant stage of its life. This also happens with Rare Wubbox and Epic Wubbox. All the previously boxed Monsters within the removed Wubbox are permanently lost.
  • Goals do not apply to placing Seasonals or Shugabush on Gold Island, so there is no reward for placing these Monsters on the island. However, placing Rare Monsters will only reward whatever its common counterpart's reward is, and it will not reward anything if its common counterpart already had been placed on Gold Island. Epics don't give rewards for placing them, even if the Common or Rare variant of the monster hasn't been placed on Gold Island.
Gold Island Book of Monsters Glitch

Gold Island Book of Monsters glitch

    • In 3.7.0, there was a glitch that would show the Book of Monsters for the island, albeit all the monsters are clumped together.
      • For some reason, the Commons and Rares say there are 5 more than there actually are.
    • Gold Island, during Anniversary Month 2023, got a Book of Monsters, which it lacked for a long time. According to Monster Handler Matt on the Update 4.0 showcase, Gold Island didn't have a Book of Monsters because of the huge amount of monsters available there, so they would be all cluttered together. This was resolved by adding separate pages for Commons, Rares and Epics.
      • The same thing was done to Amber Island, although it already had a Book of Monsters before the update released.
  • Gold Island is the only island where Monsters exist solely to contribute to its song. They cannot be fed or trained, nor do they earn any currency.
  • Bowgart, Quibble, and Clamble are the only monsters that play throughout the entire song.
    • Epic Wubbox would technically count as well, except that it has to stop to change between each of its 5 phases at brief moments in the song.
  • Gold Island has 112 unique Monsters, the most of any island due to having all the Natural and Core Seasonal Monsters, as well as their Rare and Epic variants. The Book of Monsters counts Epic Wubbox as being a total of 5 monsters, with each phase being counted as an individual "monster". However, it's only one monster with various phases, not 5 unique monsters. So it only counts as a single monster when counting each of the unique monsters on Gold Island's Book of Monsters.
    • Amber Island will have the second most amount of unique monsters once every Rare/Epic Monster gets released, having a grand total of 93 monsters.
  • If you consider solely the main game, Gold Island is the only island with a unique song that has never had an island specific monster on it.
    • If you include Dawn of Fire, then The Continent, Party, Space, Cloud, and Cave Islands, Fire Haven, Fire Oasis, and Celestial Island also share this.
  • Technically, the maximum number of beds on Gold Island is 2,253, assuming you place a Clamble in each of the 751 grid spaces, although it isn’t possible to have this many Clambles on Plant and Earth Island, even if you include Mirror Plant Island and Mirror Earth Island, only being able to have 312 Clambles across all four islands, including in Hotels.
    • However, you would be able to fill the remaining spaces on Gold Island with Dandidoos originating from Cold and Water Islands as well as their Mirrors, thus in practice the maximum number of beds able to be occupied on Gold Island is 1,814.
  • The Gold Island Colossal looks like a king, with the island itself being its crown. This may elude to the Island's high status in the Monster World.
  • Gold Island was initially going to be the final island/song of the game. As time went on, Big Blue Bubble decided to continue working on My Singing Monsters, adding more beloved and iconic songs/islands over the years.
  • Monsters on Gold Island cannot be Biggified on the island itself, but they can be Biggified on their home islands, and it will carry on to Gold Island. This also applies to Costumes, nicknames, and of course, level. This does not apply to flipping monsters, moving monsters, and recordings, the latter not being available whatsoever on Gold Island.
  • The Gold Island Critter greatly resembles a Diamond.
  • Gold Island is currently the only island where Fwog and Maw play together.
  • Gold Island is the only island where the Friends menu cannot be accessed.
  • There's a glitch with Tweedle, where if you mute and unmute it before the halfway point in its track, when it next plays, it'll start playing its animation, but not sing.
    • Since there's no Recording Studio on Gold Island, there's no way of knowing if Tweedle has one track that glitches halfway, or if it has two and the second glitches if the one before it is muted part way through.
  • In 4.0.0, the song was expanded upon the releases of Epic Wubbox and Jam Boree on Gold Island.
    • When 4.0.0 first released, all of the Core Seasonals didn't play at all and were just idle. This was fixed a few hours later.
  • Epic Wubbox's transition tracks are all slightly different from each other, including when it transforms into its half-powered form. Since the Epic Wubbox does not transform into its half-powered form when it is fully powered up, this technically makes Gold Island the only Island to not have every track included in its full song.
    • In order to have every track on Gold Island, you would need 5 Epic Wubboxes, all at different stages of completion, along with the other Monsters required for the full song.
