Amicable but eccentric, the interior of the Gheegur is a plexus of intricate tubes, which begin at its gaping mouth and culminate in its shoulder pipes. The meticulous movements of its many mandibles make for melodious music... but they may also be the mainspring of the mystifying glow that intermittently emanates from the junctions of this Monster's body. The sequela of this glow as of yet unknown, a fellow Wublin is usually appointed as a 'counter' to monitor how much time is spent in the Gheegur's company.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Gheegur is a Supernatural Monster exclusive to Wublin Island. It was added on August 26th, 2016 during Version 1.4.3. Gheegur is obtained by being purchased in the Market for 3,000 Coins as an inactive statue, which can be woken up by zapping all required Monster Eggs into it. It has a low currency production compared to other Wublins.

Breeding[]

Gheegur cannot be bred. Like all Wublins, it is bought at the Market as an inactive statue that must be woken up.

Powering Up[]

The allotted time to fill a Gheegur in order to activate is 7 days. If the inventory is not completed in the time the Gheegur resets to an empty statue and all eggs inside are lost. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural Islands.

Filling In[]

Like other Wublins, Gheegur can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 30Diamonds. Gheegur requires a total of 780Diamonds for all eggs to be filled.

Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.

Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Gheegur's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Income[]

Main article: Wublins#Income

Gheegur, like other Wublins, can produce between Coins39,000 and Coins78,000 Coins, Treats7,200 and Treats14,400 Treats, and Shards144 and Shards288 Shards. As a Monster that takes up a 3x3 grid space, Gheegur produces Diamonds3 Diamonds. Wublins generate a random type of currency every 6 to 12 hours. This rate can be increased or decreased depending on Polarity.

Currency generation is calculated separately per Monster, so multiple Gheegurs will receive more currency, and have a higher chance overall to obtain valuable Diamonds. For maximizing income across your Wublin Island, see Wublin Island Grid Planning.

Currency Distribution[]

Main article: Wublins#Currency Type Distribution

The currency for Gheegur is randomly selected from the 4 currencies it can produce. The chances to get each currency are detailed below. Datapoints are the number of recorded collections; the higher number of datapoints, the more accurate the data is.

Gheegur's Currency Distribution
Coins Coins Treats Treats Shards Shards Diamonds Diamonds Datapoints
32.28% 31.84% 27.89% 7.98% 1,140

Please do not edit this table. The data is taken from the Wublins page, which is derived from a joint spreadsheet. You can share your data on its talk page. Note that only large sample sizes of data are valuable.

Polarity[]

All Wublins are affected by Polarity, a mechanic that modifies their currency rate similar to happiness for other Monsters. When a Wublin is placed near another Wublin they are positively charged towards, the time to produce currency will decrease by 25%. When placed near a Wublin they are negatively charged towards, the time to produce currency will increase by 25%. The Common variants can be used instead for Rare Wublins, but the effect will be half as strong. Rare variants can fully affect the polarity of a Common Wublin.

Strategy[]

The following section details strategy for powering up Gheegur, for general strategy that can apply to any Monster, see Zapping#Strategy

Gheegur can be powered up with up to Earth Island unlocked. It can be powered up faster with more Islands unlocked, with Bonus Breeding Structures, or Enhanced Breeding Structures. The following strategy require zapping Eggs twice per day, once in the morning and once at night.

Notes[]

  • Gheegur's name may come from Geiger counter, ghee gur pancakes, and a kind of butter known as "ghee". Geiger counter referenced in its description as a "counter" to monitor the time monsters spend near it, similar to radiation. Its color scheme and folds in its mid section look similar to pancakes, explaining that part. Its shoulders, neck, and head look similar to butter in shape and color, explaining why it's derived from the word ghee. It may also come from Hansruedi Giger, the artist who designed the xenomorph from the movie "Alien". It may also be influenced by Gurgi, a furry character in the Chronicles of Prydain, indicated by some of its default names being after other characters from the series. Like previously mentioned before, its name possibly referencing the Geiger counter may reference how bananas are slightly radioactive, which may explain its yellow color scheme.
    • One of its possible names, Ripplee, may come from Ellen Ripley, the protagonist of Alien.
    • Similarly, another of its possible names, Zeeno, may come from Xeno, which in turn, may come from Xenomorph.
  • Like some other Wublins, Gheegur was teased with a puzzle revealing its name. It has been shown with this link.
  • The video teaser was posted at its actual release, rather than the logical sense of before the actual release. Teaser here.
    • This trend continued with the rest of the Wublins.
  • Gheegur is the first Wublin to require the formerly only non-Fire Natural Monster not to be affected by Wublins, Cybop.
  • Not counting when it moves its extra fingers, Gheegur's mouth is never shown.
  • Its song can be heard in the trailer and tutorial videos of Wublin Island posted by the official My Singing Monsters YouTube channel here and here.
  • All of the monsters needed to activate Gheegur have the Earth and Air elements. This means none of them can be bred on Plant Island, Cold Island, Fire Oasis, or any of the Magical Islands.
  • Gheegur is the final monster to be released before Version 2.0.0.
  • There is a Magical Monster called Cahoot. Coincidentally, one of Gheegur's default names is Cahoot. This also happens with Hyehehe and T-Rox, though that may be a joke and not a coincidence.
