“ | Under twinkling stars in a crystalline sky, swept by freezing winds, Cold Island is a bleak and lonely destination. No worries; the arrival of Monsters will create a lively winter festival! | ” |
— In-game description |
About[]
Cold Island is available to be purchased at level 4 with 5,000 coins . It is the second Natural Island and manifests the Cold Element . The Island is home to a total of 65 Monsters and 149 Costumes.
Song[]
Composer(s): Dave Kerr, Tom Meikle (Strombonin, Epic Wubbox)
Cold Island’s song plays at a speed of 140 beats per minute and switches between the keys of B major, G# minor, and C# minor. With the absence of Monsters with the Earth Element, the song is notably less percussive and more melodic, until Deedge is unlocked. The song is also available to download via the My Singing Monsters Soundtrack.
Cold Island has an ambience consisting of rough Arctic winds.
The Colossal's Song[]
Audio sample:
The Colossal makes a low, mechanical drone noise that slowly builds up. This sound only occurs when The Colossal is awake, which can be done by placing the Coloss-Eye on Cold Island.
Song Table[]
This is a chart that shows where each monster plays in the song. Each part is 16 beats long, meaning that one part is around 6.86 seconds long. The number next to each monster indicates which track is being played at each part.
Werdo Lyrics[]
Maggpi: Look at the stars in the big black ink, tell me what you feel and tell me what you think, Is it cold outside? Is it cold out?
Tawkerr: This... is what I live for! This... is a wondrous chill! And yes... it can be lonely, but hey... do what you will!
Both: Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. It's because I am... weird. Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. Its because I'm so... cold.
Both: Is it cold outside? (X4)
Both: Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. It's because I am... weird. Nobody likes me, everyone's afraid of me. It's because I'm so... cold.
Indigenous Monsters[]
The monsters of Cold Island are of the Cold, Plant, Air, Water, Shadow, Electricity, Supernatural, Legendary, Festival of Yay, Mythical, and Dipster elements. Since Cold Island lacks the Earth Element, no monster with that element can exist on it.
The list of indigenous monsters is below with each monster's class indicated in parenthesis.

Rocks and Trees[]
- Main article: Obstacles
Removing the rocks and trees from the island earns the player Experience () and it opens up space to place more Monsters, Decorations, or Structures. Removed obstacles are not gone permanently; they can be bought back with Diamonds () under the decorations section in the Market. In total, it costs 513,000 to remove all obstacles from the island.

Castle Upgrades[]
Main Article: Castle
To be placed on an island, each monster requires a specific number of beds. For Natural Monsters, this is equal to the number of elements that monster represents. Ethereal, Supernatural, Seasonal, and Rare (only the Rare Wubbox) Monsters each have varied bed requirements. Upgrade the Castle to unlock more beds.

Strategy[]
While the song of the Island is crucial, users may also want to use some of these numbers to help with planning which monsters to feed first and make 100% happy first, as well as plan frequency of coin collection. The numbers below are as follows:
Rate | Rate of income per bed at level 15 and at 100% happy |
Max | Maximum income per bed at level 15 |
Time | Time to maximum income at level 15 and at 100% happy (shown as Hours : Minutes : Seconds) |
It should be noted that Rate is halved and Time is doubled for 0% happy.

Version History[]
Notes[]
- Prior to Version 3.3.0, Cold Island costed 200,000 instead of only 5,000 .
- From noon EDT on September 28th, 2012 until noon EDT on October 1st, 2012, Cold Island was discounted from 200,000 to 150,000 .
- Cold Island is one of the only islands that gives you a monster in your Nursery when you first enter the island, that being Tweedle. All other Natural Islands, besides Plant Island, also follow this rule.
- The Official Soundtrack sounds are different from the in-game sounds.
- Toe Jammer has a lower, more baritone-like voice used in its voice layering.
- Potbelly has a track with extra "bawmps" that is used, likely being the full, uncut version of its sound.
- A raspy male voice that sounds like Oaktopus can be heard chuckling at one point, when Rare Wubbox is just about done doing a solo. Oaktopus then starts singing directly after this, implying that it was indeed Oaktopus who was chuckling. [1]
- Dandidoo has a more voice-cracked track that is used, likely being the full, uncut version of its sound.
- Quibble is missing some notes.
- Bowgart does not have the higher octave notes in its third track.
- Spunge has slightly different notes whistled in its track.
- Deedge has a riser sound added in some parts of the song.
- Quibble is the only Monster to play throughout the entire song.
- Cold Island is currently the only island where all variants of Wubbox play together.
- Coincidentally, it is currently the only Island where the Common Wubbox duets with its Rare Variant.
- Maggpi sings the wrong note during the "everyone's afraid of me" section. The chord for that section is G# minor, but Maggpi sings a C note instead of a B note, as if the chord was A♭ major.
- Cold Island initially ended with only Quibble & Spunge when it was released, but when Tawkerr first appeared on this island, Mammott, Deedge, & the Castle started playing in this verse.
