“ | Often mistaken for a PomPom that has expanded its traditional diet of exclusively red foods, the Hoola is actually a distinct creature. This doesn't stop them from getting along famously, and they share something of a sisterly bond. The Hoola is a born troublemaker, pulling pranks on other Monsters and using its special hoop to get up to all kinds of mischief. Luckily, a PomPom is usually nearby to help set things right. | ” |

Description[]
Hoola is a Seasonal Monster that celebrates the SummerSong season and is found on Air Island and Earth Island. It was added on July 16th, 2013 during Version 1.1.7. As a Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times. It is best obtained by breeding PomPom and Pango on both islands. By default, its breeding time is 1 day and 1 hour long. Although Hoola does not have good Coin production when collecting once per day, when collecting multiple times it can rival other monsters on Air and Earth Islands, such as Ethereals or Quad-Element Monsters.
Hoola can be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15. It has the best Coin production out of all of the common Monsters, and is only exceeded by Epic Yool.
Song[]
Audio sample:
Voice actress: Maggie Park (Natural Islands, Gold Island), Amelia Fraser (Seasonal Shanty)
Hoola sings along with PomPom to create a pleasant harmony. Hoola has a higher-pitched voice than PomPom. Its chant is a variation of PomPom's:
Air Island - Hey Nana Hey Nana Hey Nana Hey Low; Hey Nana, Hey Nana, Hey Nana Uh-Oh.
Earth Island - Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yo, Yippite Yay Yippitie Yo Do.
Seasonal Shanty (Track 1) - Yippitie Yay; Yippitie Yo-o; Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yo; Hoolala!
Seasonal Shanty (Track 2) - Yo Yo Yo! Yo Yo Yo! Hoolala! Oola-Hoolala!
Gold Island - Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yo-o; Yippitie Yay, Yippitie Yay, Yippitie, Oh.
Memory Game - Yippitie Yay
Breeding[]
On Air Island and Earth Island, Hoola can only be bred for a limited time during the SummerSong season or an Out of Season Promotion:
On Seasonal Shanty, the only way to get a Hoola without already having another Hoola on the island is through teleporting one at level 15 or buying it from the store.
Any breeding combinations containing a Hoola may fail, and give one of the parents as a result. However, breeding a Hoola with an Aux. Seasonal is preferable, as it has a higher chance of getting another Hoola than that of getting an Aux.:
- + Hoola and Gobbleygourd
- + Hoola and Clavavera
- + Hoola and Viveine
- + Hoola and Jam Boree
- + Hoola and Carillong
- + Hoola and Whiz-bang
- + Hoola and Monculus
- + Hoola and Ffidyll
- + Hoola and Boo'qwurm
- + Hoola and Spurrit
Out of these, Hoola + Monculus is the best combination, as it has the lowest waiting time in case of not resulting in another Hoola. Hoola + Spurrit and Hoola + Gobbleygourd are also good choices.
The Rare variant of any breeding Monster can be used instead of the Common variant.
However, on Seasonal Shanty, the best way of getting a duplicate Hoola is by breeding a Common Hoola with its Rare variant, with 100% chance of getting it if the Rare variant is not available:
- + Hoola and Rare Hoola
Availability[]
- For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability
Hoola, like all Seasonals are only available during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and the Anniversary Month Celebration. It is also available to breed at any time on Seasonal Shanty.
NOTE: Hoola can only be bred or purchased during the available dates. Any Hoolas on Air Island, Earth Island, or The Colossingum that are obtained during that time will stay unless they are sold. However, as stated before, Hoola can be bought or bred on Seasonal Shanty at any time, though it is discounted when it is available on other islands. Hoola is also obtainable via weekly Scratch Tickets on Air Island, Earth Island, or their Mirror Islands. Additionally, Hoola can be placed on Gold Island at any time once it is level 15 on Air Island, Earth Island, or their Mirror Islands.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Hoola:
- Tweedle (requires level 4) ()
- SummerSong Path (level 17) ()
- Tree Hut (level 17)
- Tree Forte Tower (level 17)
- Castanevine (level 18) ()

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

Notes[]
- Hoola's name is derived from the Hula-hoop, which the Monster is always twirling around itself.
- Hoola is the only Monster in the Pomily (along with its Rare and Epic variants) to not be a Triple-Element Monster.
- It is also the only Monster in the Pomily to be a Seasonal.
- Hoola's breeding combination for Air and Earth Islands are the same.
- Hoola is the only Core Seasonal that isn't voiced by Dave Kerr.
- This is probably due to its extremely feminine appearance.
- During the week of July 22nd to July 26th, 2013, a Facebook contest was held, which awarded random users a free Hoola.
- The earning rate and max income numbers are the same as the ones for Congle.
- Hoola was the first Seasonal Monster that could be bought or bred on two islands, excluding Seasonal Shanty.
- As of June 7th, 2023, Gobbleygourd, Viveine, and Monculus also hold this title.
- Of the three mentioned above, Gobbleygourd has had the title the longest, releasing in 2019.
- Inhabiting Air Island, Earth Island, Seasonal Shanty, The Colossingum, Gold Island, Mirror Air Island, and Mirror Earth Island, Hoola is currently native to the most amount of islands of all the Seasonals, that being 7 (5 if you don’t count the Mirror Islands). This count will eventually go up to 8 (6 if you, again, don’t count the Mirror Islands) when SummerSong Junior starts in Dawn of Fire. The other Core Seasonals all inhabit 4 (5 with the Mirror Islands and 6 with the Continent) while Gobbleygourd, Viveine, and Monculus are only found on 3.
- As of June 7th, 2023, Gobbleygourd, Viveine, and Monculus also hold this title.
- When Hoolas sleep (i.e., are muted), they hula-hoop in their sleep, albeit at half-speed.
- Hoola and Yool are the only Seasonal Monsters that still cost 150 during the regular availability times.
- During the loading screen song, a high-pitched voice that sounds like Hoola's voice can be heard, or it might possibly be Peckidna's.
- Hoola sings along with PomPom on Air, Earth, and Gold Islands.
- Apparently, the only reason Hoola is on Air Island as well as Earth Island is because PomPom is like a "sisterly" figure for Hoola. This was confirmed on a My Singing Monsters Live episode.
- Another reason for this is because PomPom and Pango are used to breed Hoola, and the two monsters are on both Air & Earth Islands.
- It is also worth noting that PomPom will almost always be on an island with Pango, with the lone exception being Shugabush Island (but not vice versa), because PomPom contains Pango's elements-Cold and Air.
- Another reason for this is because PomPom and Pango are used to breed Hoola, and the two monsters are on both Air & Earth Islands.
- In the Recording Studio, if you listen closely to Hoola's Air Island track, PomPom can be heard very faintly. This is probably a singing cue for the voice actress.
- Hoola, Rare Wubbox, Whajje, and (possibly) Hyehehe are the only Monsters to say their species name.
- Leading up to SummerSong 2019, leaflets and decals to the mysterious DJ Epic was hidden in multiple posts. Rather than being Epic Hoola, it was revealed that DJ Epic was actually Common Hoola all along. In MSM Live #37, it was further explained that the trio of Common, Rare, and Epic Hoola together made up the artist DJ Epic.
- One of Hoola's concept arts features PomPom with a hula-hoop. This can be seen here.
- Hoola and Schmoochle are the first Seasonals to share an Island other than Seasonal Shanty, The Colossingum, or Gold Island with another Seasonal, that being Air Island with each other.
- As of May 17th, 2023, Gobbleygourd and Spurrit also have this attribute, with that island being Fire Oasis.
- Hoola's Out of Season month is typically December.
- On the SummerSong 2022 loading screen, once the game data loaded up to 100%, Hoola winked, closing its right eye.
- Before November 9th, 2022, it was possible to breed Hoola on Seasonal Shanty using any combination of 2 Aux. Seasonals.
- In Hyehehe's bio, it is said that Hoola's skill for pranks is an effect of learning from Hyehehe, as they are both on Earth Island.
- Hoola is currently the only Core Seasonal remaining to not be in Dawn of Fire yet.
