Crystals are Crafting Items and a form of game Currency. Base Crystals naturally-occur on the Continent and they can be refined by the Jeweler to make more advanced Crystals. Each land of the Continent has a different type of Crystal, unique to the land from which it generates. Crystals are also used to upgrade Production Structures, which decreases their production times.

Crystals appear automatically on the Continent lands at intervals of about five minutes until their maximum number is reached on each land. The maximum amount of Crystals that can be present on each land at a given time are as follows: four on Plant, Cold, and Air Land; two on Water and Earth Land. Crystals appear at specific locations on each land; some of these locations are partly hidden behind other objects depending on one's viewpoint in the game. Crystals also give off a rather sparkling glitter which makes it easier to locate them.

The Jeweler, a Production Structure, is used to obtain the Polished and Carved Crystals. A Polished Crystal requires five regular crystals plus another ingredient while a Carved Crystal requires ten Polished Crystals plus another ingredient.

Vegidian Crystals[]

Vegidian Crystal, Version 1.2.0

Vegidian Crystals generate on Plant Land and they appear around the edges of the island as well as on the boundary with Cold Land and Air Land. Vegidian Crystals can grow on the leaves of the small plants that are present on the edges of the land and behind the Market and Teleporter. Vegidian Crystals are unlocked at the start of the game, or level 1 since Plant Land is the only land available to the player at the start and they have a maximum capacity of four for island generation.

The Version 1.2.0 Update changed the appearance of Vegidian Crystals. Their old appearance is on the left and their current appearance is on the right.

Frozium Crystals generate on Cold Land and they appear around its edges and the small cave in the north-east corner of the land. Frozium Crystals can even be found near the places that Vegidian Crystals generate. Frozium Crystals are unlocked at level 9 when Cold Land becomes available and they have a maximum capacity of four for island generation.

Buying and Selling[]

All of the crystals sell well, but most particularly Aquanine Crystals and Stonyx Crystals, raw or refined (as in Polished or Carved). The Aquanine and Stonyx crystals are in much shorter supply than the others, because their land areas produce a limit of two of them at a time instead of four. The Aquanine crystals are in higher demand than the Stonyx crystals, because the game wants Aquanine crystals much more frequently for structure upgrades than it does Stonyx. Aquanine crystals disappear from the Market in moments, as purchasers grab them on sight.

If you don't need your crystals, and have one or more Jewelers sitting idle, you can increase the crystals' value by converting them to polished or carved forms before selling them.

Notes[]

Each Crystal has a unique appearance. Their appearances are as follows:
- Vegidian Crystals resemble a lettuce or cabbage.
- Frozium Crystals resemble a snowflake.
- Skylite Crystals resemble a gold sun.
- Aquanine Crystals resemble an ocean wave.
- Stonyx Crystals resemble a black version of the currency, Shards from My Singing Monsters.
The Outer Islands and Starhenge do not produce Crystals.
The locations of the Crystals are changed randomly every time one either restarts the game or goes to the Continent from one of the Outer Islands. This can be used to find Crystals that have been hidden behind objects such as obstacles or the Skyship.
Vegidian, Frozium, and Skylite Crystals have been mentioned on Facebook before.
The most expensive thing that can be bought/sold in the Market is a set of 10 Carved Aquanine Crystals, for 2,335,625 .
Polished Skylite Crystals used to required 3 for their production, however Wool did not become available until the Weavers unlocked at level 20, despite the recipe becoming available at level 19. The Wool was changed to Lemons in the Version 1.2.0 Update.
The Version 1.8.0 Update changed a few features of Crystals:
- Prior to Version 1.8.0, there was no known use of Carved Aquanine Crystals. Polished Aquanine Crystals, however could be used for the production of an Epicka Tree, a decoration that can be crafted with the Workshop. Since the update, all types of Carved and Polished Crystals are used for upgrading other Production Structures and the Vault.
  - Carved and Polished Crystals used to upgrade the Castle, but this was replaced with Coins ().
- Polished and Carved Stonyx Crystals were introduced.
- All Polished Crystal types had their recipes reduced from requiring ten of a specific Crystal, to five. Because of the reduction in their recipes, all Crystals produced by the Jeweler had their Market price range decrease. Their old Market price ranges were:
  - Polished Vegidian Crystals: 422 - 703 .
  - Carved Vegidian Crystals: 4,826 - 8,043 .
  - Polished Frozium Crystals: 584 - 973 .
  - Carved Frozium Crystals: 6,584 - 10,973 .

- Most primary crafting items had their times increased. As a result, every crystal crafted via the Jeweler received a price increase. Their previous prices were:

Fun Facts[]

The crystals in DoF are the same crystals on the Crystalline Castles in My Singing Monsters.

Standard crystals rest upon the first row on the castle with the same name.
Polished crystals are on the second row on the castles with the same name.
Carved crystals are in a glass enclosure on top of the castle with the same name.
Carved Crystals seem to be wearable jewelry, [as mostly noted with the use of the Jeweler] with most of them looking like necklaces.
